  • @UnrulyHousewife

    What a great little set! Maybe you could also push the larger shapes out using a cotton bud (if necessary)? The tiny one made really great holes in those leaves, so perfect.
    I must say, your video on saving the remains of a Skinner/Teardrop blend was one of my favourite tips EVER. I always do it, if the blend is pretty enough to save. Thanks! xx

      I used the flat end of an exacto blade handle and that worked pretty goo for the large ones. Of course if you use the wrap it won't get stuck in the first place. Wouldn't work on the tiny little guy though.

    Hi - thanks for sharing your great tips. Do you have any suggestions for removing clay from cutters without distorting the clay? I've used plastic wrap which gives rounded edges but would like the look of clean edges without marring the clay when pushing out from the cutter. Thank you.

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  8 лет назад +1

      One thing you can do is dip your cutters into cornstarch first before cutting. Another tip, if it a small cylinder type cutter, like these ones, then you can blow on it like a straw and pop the pieces out. It isn't always possible for the super tiny ones, but it often works.

      Yeah we ended up sending her so muchbusiness that it overwhelmed her site and she couldn't keep up. So Etsy closed her site. She has been honoring all her orders though and they have been getting shipped out. Hopefully your order will arrive soon. Jjust so everyone knows, my friend Aniko from Mymandarinducky has the tools for sale. Here is an affiliate link to her shop if you're interested in picking them up: tidd.ly/519a42b0 She calls them Dotties and has them in the Tools and Supplies section of her Etsy shop.

  • @lindacronk986
    @lindacronk986 8 лет назад

    I just put the order in for them they will be extremely useful for a lot of things. I also use the end of a pastry tube(for cake decorating) for small holes and texture too.

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  8 лет назад

      You're lucky to get them Linda... she has already sold out! The pastry tube is a great idea for cutting out small holes. I guess they would end up tapered, since the walls of the tube are not straight, but that could work in many situations. Thanks for the suggestion!

    • @lindacronk986
      @lindacronk986 8 лет назад +1

      It doesn't really taper them if the clay is not too thick and there are a lot of sizes I also use them for texture I have tons of the tubes I used to do a lot of decorating back in the day. LOL.

  • @brikhouse22
    @brikhouse22 8 лет назад +1

    You can also use these cutters for texture, like on dragon skin or what not. Check out Mandarin Ducky here on youtube, she also uses and sells them. Alternatively you can buy them on aliexpress for pretty cheap, they are called bootlace ferrules or crimp connector.

    I found that she doesn't sell them anymore but you can get many many shapes of them from DINKY ARTESANIA on Etsy. You can also get the circle set and then reshape them the way you want to. Or use the metal from votive candles and shape the way you want and then use PC to make a comfy handle for it.

    Hello PolymerClayTutor.
    Please Help!!
    I accidentally brought Jack Richeson 4-Piece Clay Hole Cutters from Amazon. I need your suggestion on how to use them because they have this wooden handle and due to that my clay gets stuck in the cutters whenever I use those on polymer clay. Due to those handles I can't push my clay out from back side.

      Hi there, sorry to hear you're having troubles. I have just sent an email to Plamena myself, so hopefully we can get to the bottom of this very quickly. It may just be a case of too many orders too quickly. (Plus it is night there when it is day here, so that causes some delay.)

    • @PolymerClayTutor
      @PolymerClayTutor  8 лет назад

      I just heard back from Plamena and this is what she said,
      " I have so many orders to complete that I can't get to answering all emails and messages. I am giving my best to complete them as fast as possible, and actually considering finding someone to help me with the communication with clients, because I do everything all by myself now."
      I hope this now puts you at ease. She is a good person who is doing her best but has been swamped by the volume of sales. Just be patient if you can. She will get the product to you as soon as possible. Also take note, sometimes the postal systems in others countries are not as fast as they are inside the USA. I have had packages from other countries including the US take anywhere from 1 to 8 weeks to get to me in Canada. Sometimes stuff will sit at the border for awhile.
