Gujo Hachiman is a tourist attraction in the center of Gifu Prefecture, along the Nagara River and is known as a town rich in beautiful, crystalline waters.
The pristine river and old townscapes give one a sense of good old-fashioned Japan. The water spring spot Sougisui is the local symbol.
On top of a small mountain near the city center is the majestic Gujo Hachiman Castle. From here, you can see the clear Nagara River and tranquil townscapes of the "water city".
Gujo City is also famous for the Gujo Dance, one of the three major Bon Odori dances in Japan. As the city has many accommodations, Gujo Hachiman is the perfect base for your trip around Gifu.
