Early in the season focus on 2 or 3. As the season progresses you can keep adding more primary commanders. In general 6 commanders is the most that you’ll want to have for fighting but it will take a long time to get 6 level 50 commanders. The reason for 6 is because a fully upgraded fort can hold 6. Also 40% of unit losses are converted to wounded soldiers. 6 level 50 commanders is 6 x 75 = 450 total command points that they can hold, if you were to lose all those armies in one battle, 40% of 450 is 180 command points of wounded soldiers, and your apothecary can hold up to 200. If you have more commanders than 6 carrying troops for battles you run the risk of your apothecary being too full and not being able to take wounded troops.
You can try Gandalf with pure bow knights or cataphracts. R5 Dwalin with guardians might work too. Haldir with eagles. Basically you want to use armies that are just one or two units to help mitigate the fact that mumas attack everything each round.
This is true! I made a video about it, from what I remember it wasn’t possible when I recorded this top 10 tips video because at the time you couldn’t change troops in the field.
It is difficult to give an exact answer because there are so many factors that come into play: which commanders are you using, which faction are you, what respect are those commanders, how good is their gear, how much are you willing to boost, etc? The general idea is that you’ll take a couple level 1 tiles with your primary commanders and then start taking 10s until you can get “green” fights on 15s. From there you take 10s and 15s until you can take 30s easily and keep up that system of “flipping” your low power tiles to high power tiles as you level up. Commanders like Gandalf the Grey or WK can handle higher power tiles earlier than guys like Legolas or Agzok.
Wellllllllll they just totally changed the ring skill tree but if you're still in the middle of a season that uses the old skill tree my favorite early game skills are: Control Levy Bonus Exp Powerful Sweeping If you have all of those fully leveled, you could get effortless sweeping, or the reduced conscription time - if you're good to go on resources.
@@mappedoverwatch3633 I think Extract is just a worse version of Gather since it gives less resources... but maybe there will be some clever ways to use it.
Most of these tips would be primarily applicable to newer players but I imagine some of the principles could still apply to TE. You definitely want to sweep a lot in TE for the extra gold, trial records and books though.
can you explain how did you manage to take 130 in the first 24h ? I think I made a pretty good start, optimising as much as I could playing h24 and also buying the 1 euro commander. But I was able only to take 90. It would be nice if you could make a tutorial on the first 24 hours. Anyways thanks a lot for the video
You’re welcome! Being able to take the three 130s in the first 24 hours comes down to a lot of practice. You need to focus as much exp onto two of your commanders as possible. But you also have to try and balance the taking of harder tiles with troop production. If you’re too aggressive, you’ll run out of troops but if you’re too conservative you’ll run out of stamina. Ultimately you want to have a nearly full barracks towards the end of the first 24 hours and at least one commander level 20+, preferably a second one at least close to level 20. You give them both full armies, hit a 130 with both commanders at the same time (and by same time I mean within 5 minutes of each other since the first fight should be a draw) and boost your apothecary with free boosts (or gems) after each tile. Do that for each of the three 130s that you’ll need then go back to farming 60s and 90s to allow your barracks to recover. Next season I’ll see about recording or streaming some of my first 24 hours of progress.
@@Phoenix_Gaming Yeah, it's location means it will be challenged. We fought of Isengard in the beginning and seemed strong. We made an alliance with Lindon against Angmar to secure our west side and the north. We made an alliance with Rohan against Isengard and when Angmar and Isengard attacked us simultaneously, we had allies. We crushed Angmar and pushed Isengard back. After that we were seen as the strongest faction on the server and other strong players joined us. From there it was easier...
@@EinsPerson well played diplomacy! On my server we had an alliance with Lothlorien and Lindon. We crushed Angmar with Lothlorien’s help. Then Lindon tried to backstab us with the help of the tattered remnants of Angmar as well as Isengard. We pushed back Lindon’s armies and protected our land against Isengard + Angmar. A big chunk of Lindon’s top players didn’t agree with their move to betray us so they immediately swapped over to Arnor and joined us. Fast forward to today - we own all of the west except Lindon, Angmar and Isengard’s capital and we’re the rank 3 fellowship overall (only 100k behind the rank 2 guys) and we’ve grown to the point of needing 2 fellowships. Really fun play through. Maybe I’ll make a recap video of the major events that have unfolded on my server just for the heck of it.
@@Phoenix_Gaming Yeah, i think a lot depends on your alliances and how your faction is led. Besides the economic part and the battles, the politics makes the game very interesting for me. Although we possess the highest rank in all three categories in the ranking, we know we need friends to survive. We have a lasting peace with three of our neighbours, Lindon, Isengard and Rohan, which hold other factions at bay for us. We devoured Angmar and Lothlorian and capured the ring. We only need to take their capitals now. The Dwarves are the only ones who can challenge us for the ring, but they agreed to an honorable fight. I still expect us to beat them, but we will be nice about it.
My two favorite things about this game are the politics/diplomacy and the fact that it is light on the pay2win aspect - or it seems that way so far. As the leader of the #3 fellowship on the server (and by far the most powerful fellowship in Arnor) I've probably spent about as much time working diplomatic angles as I have actually playing the game. And boy does it feel good when a plan comes together! We have something big in the works on my server.... hopefully everything works out ;)
@@Phoenix_Gaming one question if you don't mind. I also started in arnor but would u recommend switching to a different faction early game? From what I have heard it does not seem like the troop or bonus is that strong. Thanks again.
@@ianpearson2843 Unfortunately Arnor's T4 is not that good. The construction bonus is okay because it applies to forts if I remember correctly... but there are definitely better faction bonuses. The main thing you want to worry about is finding an active fellowship with good leadership. Numbers are crucial in this game, and organization helps a lot too. If there isn't an active, organized & well-led fellowship in Arnor on your server - I would transfer to a faction that has a fellowship that meets those requirements. Otherwise, you're going to have a boring season fighting an uphill battle to maybe end the season with your capital.
You put one point into stamina and then reset your ring skills. Stamina, control, and a few other ring skills don’t get reset but everything else does.
Unfortunately nothing. I think there should be some sort of prestige leaderboard. Or maybe an event like the dealing damage to objectives event where the top 100 players at the end of the event get some sort of rewards.
@@HeWhoPlaysMinecraft that would be cool! They could add stuff like reduced troop costs, faster training time, maybe even slightly more barracks space. Sort of go with the idea of more troops would want to fight for you because you’re prestigious and renowned for winning in combat.
