I noticed that you included a bit of rope in the vacuum bag. Was that to help get a better pressing--to even out the "flow" of air as you drew a vacuum? Great video. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this. I was looking into the construction of LVL wind turbine towers, the company that makes them, MODVION state that they use LVL boards that are fixed (i believe) which are then bent, is it possible to do this when the boards are set and dry?
no, to create a bent board it can be steam bent (air dried wood only), or laminated layers and bent before glue sets, or milled from solid (which would be a waste of material.
Why don’t you use the ub800 on the veneer to hardboard also and press everything at once? I’m new to vac veneering and trying to learn all I can. And is it 3M brand hardboard or did you mean 3mm hardboard?
I like to press the veneer flat first which ensures complete adhesion and allows me to pre-sand and finish. Much faster and easier this way. Then I can do my laminations. 3 mm hardboard
Thanks Scott!

yes, it acts as a cheap breather layer which prevent the bag sealing itself off before reaching full vacuum. thanks
