But, we have no time to clear out these tears we will take his word and stop the real mastermind and this killing game.

Kokichi was on the right track when he told Kaito about this killing game. I think Kaito was trying to trick Monokuma into thinking he made the right choice when Kaito was inside that exisal. He doesn't have to reveal himself until there are results. Rantaro said so earlier: ''It's not about outfoxing the mastermind, it's ending the game itself"
