Thank you so much for making this video! I am a mechanic who has been looking into rugged laptops/tablets and this was a great overview of the options out there. One thing that would be really helpful would be to make a video discussing the necessary processor and other hardware specs to do programming and run an oscilloscope which I have found to be the primary functions mechanics use besides looking up repair procedures and specifications. I know this varies from user to user but even the basics would be really helpful. Most mechanics I know have dell rugged tablets or convertibles because having a touchscreen that you can bring under the hood of a car while testing circuits is extremely useful. I appreciate all the videos you make and think they help all sorts of people working in the trades make better decisions about what tools are right for them. Thank you again and I will definitely be buying from you once I've saved up and decided what to get!

The most important thing from my experience for service work is screen size, quality and its brightness, the ability to clearly see it outside or under fluro lights in building but especially outside & it needs to be big so that you can see technical info in detail, ruggedised is a bonus, but you treat it like a computer not a tool and I’ll take one I can see and use with clean hands than one impervious to grease that’s difficult to use, we’re not under fire, there is time to clean your hands and position them safely if you have the brains, idiots and unlucky guys will wreck anything
Not too many come with a GPU or the option to have one. The best option on the market would be the FZ-40, although it can be expensive. Thanks for watching.
In addition to these ruggedized laptops, how does something like a Thinkpad compare? Not nearly as grime-resistant, but I'm imagining might still be suitable for automotive diagnostics and tuning? I don't really know how price compares, tbf.
We don't really specialize in Thinkpads. Could one run the software you need? Sure, it should. Just double check the specifications of your software before you order one. someone should make a box that you put around the bottom part of the laptop and it makes it dust proof and mosture proof fit for any laptop or custom
