Yes they are but you have to live in a home that can support it. Dont over improve from the neighborhood. I would say in most markets don't put one in a house worth less than $750K, unless you are going to enjoy the unit and live in the house for a long time. The average home buyer in the lower price ranges either have never seen a built in refrigerator, won't appreciate it or are unwilling to pay for it. I've had Sub Zero units for 30 years in three different homes. No mechanical problems except to replace an ice maker and replace a few light bulbs. Clean the coils yearly at minimum.
As with any built-in requiring a water line, make sure your water feed lines are in good condition or there is an access panel to the plumbing on the opposite side of the wall. If you require pumping related issues most plumbers will require that you to hire someone to remove and reinstall the unit before they work on the plumbing. Plumbers especially dislike built-in refrigerators because of their size and cost if damaged by the plumber. Is Sub-Zero worth it? Yes.
We chose Sub-Z for refrigeration appliances and SKS for cooking appliances. Sub-Z just felt a step above the rest. Wolf not so much. Very happy with our choices thus far!
Just took delivery of a Sub-Zero Pro36. Looking forward to having it installed and running. Sub-Zero Pro36 with conpressor(s) on top also works for us short folks less than 6’6” tall… Hah! 😂 surprised you didn’t mention that benefit in light of how often you mention the issue with other brands that have compressor on bottom making the top shelf in fridge too high. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t subzero the only one of the brands offering a new style multi drawer pro built in with compressor on top?
@@YaleAppliance1 Having a large tech count doesn't mean anything. But I'm sure you do approve, since you get to charge incredibly more money for service, just because of the name brand.
Buying a SubZero you probably won't be saving money over freestanding refrigerators, but when compared with other built in refrigerators, SZ has the best build quality and SZ most all functional parts available for about 30 years so you won't need to go through the pain of swapping a built in just because the control board or evaporator fan went NLA after 15 years.
@Yaleappliance1 I like to do my homework when it comes to researching before I purchase anything. You guys have helped me so much in the process of elimination. My question.. can you give me some insight information about HALLMAN? How would you rate them on your scale is all I need. We will be purchasing our appliance package in about a month. Thank you! & Love your videos! 😊

Can you do a video comparing interior water dispenser vs external water dispenser?

I mention that in other videos with fridges that have that issue
Why don’t you review True refrigerators ?
We have
As an appliance repair tech, no, not really.

Seriously? I lose a fortune because i cant walk away from my customers even with hard to fix problems like an independent
More like a money pit. My neighbors have the repair company out average of once every 12-18 months for theirs.
Havent had mine repaired in almost ...Then again, I have my compressor cleaned every year

Hallman is another inexpensive pro looking range. I like the price, but everything else...not so much
