I can't believe I've put up with the rattling noise for almost 2 years now and then I came across this video. Once I popped off that panel, I could clearly see one screw was not tight at all. How could so many trucks have the exact same problem. Thank you so much for posting this. I have another rattle but it's nowhere near as loud as the one this video fixes. This remaining rattle sounds like it's coming from the right hand side of the dash. So frustrating
Hi.. I have the same rattle in my 2015 GMC 1500 sierra. I've tighten all four of the bolts you mentioned which were loose but I still have the problem. It doesn't start to rattle until I hit about 50mph . I don't detect the rattle driving around town at slower speeds I believe you mentioned that there are other areas that can cause a dashboard rattle but are harder to get at. Could you tell me where they might be? Thanks.
This noise was driving the wife and I bat shit crazy. Your video and information fixed the problem in less than five minutes. Two of the screws under there were loose. 2017 Silverado 3500 High Country
I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500. I have a noise that sounds like .22 shells rattling when I'm driving and worse on rougher roads. I applied you're tip and 2 of the 4 screws were backed almost completely out. Fixed this problem but unfortunately still hasn't addressed my noise. Anyone have any tips? Thanks for the video
I think my 2014 high country has this issue, I keep hearing rattling noise coming from that area and a cricket noise coming from the back. I usually turn my music up so I don't hear the noise. But but that's unacceptable for the amount that I paid for a "luxurious truck"
DUDE! NO WAY! It really was THAT easy!!! Took me as much time to fix it as it did to watch your video. Thank you SOOOOO MUCH!!! Been hunting that dang rattle for weeks!!
Hello, and thank you! This was spot on! However, I overtorqued and snapped the head off one screw! Can anyone help me find the replacemet? Looks like M4X1.5, but I'm not sure about the thread-form. Thanks!
Had a rattle for MONTHS. Removed and taped the dash clips like people mentioned, removed the dash compartment under the steering wheel and the sunglasses compartment up top and nothing. Ended up being the screw for the battery bracket in the engine compartment that runs across the battery. Rattle kept coming from the windshield center area.
Nice, easy fix. Mine has been sounding like it's been raining from the windshield / dash area that started recently. One night on the way home, I couldn't figure out what the heck was going on when it wasn't raining lol. Just removed the panel, and one of screws was about halfway out. Thank you sir!
Had this same problem for months. Thought it was just my truck so I didn't bother searching for a how to video to find a solution to some random rattling. But this worked!! It used to drive me crazy, I'd even put up the music but I somehow always focused on the rattling. This fixed the problem. Thanks man!
Thanks for this video. I am 99% sure I have the same issue on a recent used Silverado purchase of mine. I removed the two lower screws, but struggled to remove the panel, feels like I may break something. Will give it another shot.
Glad I stumbled across this video. I thought maybe it was my instrument cluster. I'm gonna fix this ASAP!!!
You are a life saver. This was driving me crazy. Thank you!
Saved my sanity!
Great video, that intro thoughhh XD

Oh and it sounds like it's coming from the dash inside the center vent. Thanks
I have the same issue. was wondering if you ever found out what was causing yours?
@@matthewweaver6622 I tore my whole damn dash apart and tried everything I researched and yet to find a solution. Sorry
Thank you! Thank you! The rattle has been driving me insane. All 4 bolts were loose but only took 5 minutes to fix.
Love to hear that! One of the most annoying things on these trucks, slap some lock tite on there for sure!
Cant wait to try this in the morning thanks! That rattle drives me insane. $50k truck and rattles like a 20 year old pickup
Definitely one of the most annoying things in the truck!

I have a rattle in my steering wheel on my 2018 any ideas of what it could be?
Hmm I haven’t heard of any rattles in the steering wheel myself, have you checked reddit?
No, but I will
Dead on, had three of four screws almost falling out. Three minute fix
Super annoying! Mine still does it because I haven’t put loctite on it yet lol
just to be clear i have the same problem is yours like a super high pitch squeak ?
Thanks for this video. I am 99% sure I have the same issue on a recent used Silverado purchase of mine. I removed the two lower screws, but struggled to remove the panel, feels like I may break something. Will give it another shot.
I thought I was going to snap it the first time as well. Kind of a weird angle for the clips... hopefully the video helps!
2018 Silverado..rattling noise 18 thousand miles..steering column ready to fall out..dealer fixed luckily!
At least they fixed it for you ! lol
Pretty sure my 2018 silverado has this issue..annoying as all hell gonna give it a try when the weather warms a bit
Hopefully it fixes it for you. Definitely throw a dab of loctite on the bolts so it doesn’t loosen back up!
