He was a brawler, and to be fair, it was very effective and highly entertaining. It worked for him. After that fight, though, he become obsessed with the "sweet science" side of things. I can only guess he wanted to prove to himself that he was more than just a puncher. Whatever the reason, this shift made him less aggressive, and much more awkward looking. If AJ wants to go back to the well and see if he can find a way back why the hell shouldn't he? Because some muppet with a microphone doesn't have the same conviction?
DDD did great, it was a shocking first round and he absolutely caught AJ slipping. But AJ also fought completely out of character. AJ could absolutely come with a better game plan and change the outcome.
As for this narrative that DDD now competes with Usyk. Give me a break! Usyk is not there to be hit like AJ was. If DDD comes at him in the same way, he'll be absolutely shattered by the 5th and Usyk will obliterate him down the stretch. Theirs leagues, and Usyk is in his own.

He's made alot of money and could easily retire. Health is wealth though and more punches to the head is dangerous to where you might not be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor after you finally do retire for good. As a fan of boxing though....i would love to see an AJ vs Dillian White rematch. I'd also would love to see Wilder vs AJ and AJ vs Fury. But for AJ's health he probably should retire. He is a celebrity and probably could continue making millions of dollars without boxing. It is kind of funny to me though that over these last 5 years of AJ's career he's been called a still learning up amd coming boxer even when he held 3 belts and then called a masterclass boxer months later. It was like back and forth depending on the results of his fights. So many times i heard..." why should AJ fight Wilder now he is only this age and so young and look what hes achieved in this short of a time. " I heard that from AJ himself also saying Wilder will not rush his boxing career and that his coaches and team have a plan that he must follow. It's either AJ is still learning and so young or its AJ has got nothing left to prove and we all thought AJ would retire at age 35 in 2025 anyway even if AJ defeated Dubois. I seriously doubt though that had AJ knocked out Dubois in a similar fashion nobody would be saying AJ should retire and that he's 35 and thats ancient for boxing.

Always believed AJ to be very much a hype job, not saying that he isn't a world class boxer, just not the best out there.
Having said that, I do believe that he can up his level and take out Dubois. He started fairly flat, as Lennox Lewis did first time round vs Rahman. I believe he grew in confidence during round 4 but the damage was done by then.
AJ by early KO if the rematch happens.

Get this Ade guy off tv. Joshua is not the first guy to be knocked out and he keeps screaming for him to retire.

Wish we could tell the truth. We'd love a real born bred history white heavyweight. Someone from the real cobbles. Britain needs a real hero. A real " British" commentator, old fashioned brit.

How can you be positive two time former champion and fought like novice wreckless and lost every round. In the ring last 2 yrs aj has everything his way against weak opponents and caught up with him

Was AJ actually that good though? What I see is a heavily padded record and a carefully navigated road map and he eventually got exposed by DDD!

That was the best Dubois vs the worst AJ the 2nd fight will be different, i wouldnt be so quick to write him off. talking about father time, you are peaking as a HW at 35.

AJ will never tell the truth about why he kept his hands down for four rounds. Thats all we want to know AJ..👂 Can't you follow instructions or adapt in the ring? Were you too cocky like Fury against Usyk and Ngannou? Daniel did the same thing Joshua did to Ngannou. Mind games will beat Joshua he's mentally weak..

In my opinion, DDD is not a different version of self, AJ just had a very bad night and never recover from that first round period. Is not that DDD did anything different. We can debate that round 5 still the same old DDD. But to say he should retire I don't think so. We have all failed many times in our lives but it was not publicised but for person of AJ calibre every eyes will see that and tag it anything they like. Still the right AJ beat DDD easy but when are we going to see the best AJ, we never know.
