    Thank you brother for your video. You hit the nail on the head when you said that one must take their own initiative to read, investigate and learn if interested in a topic.
    I have a strong desire to get a system going on home and make our tiny 3.5 acres our Homestead for future RUclips educational videos.
    You appear honest and forthright. If you are going to do a large system, maybe we can put our heads together and do a carbon copy with a beginning to end video and see if our end results balance.
    Blessings!

    Funny, I just got an email from my gas company offering $100 gift card if I change my thermostat to a smart one that will allow them to change my temperature when needed. No thank you. Picked up free firewood instead down the street. The guy had the tree service cut everything into great lengths for a fireplace. Not having big brother tell me I need to freeze for whatever time is convenient for them. Thanks for showing the solar equipment. One step at a time is how I am doing it too.

    Zach, my entry level is a 3000-watt 24-volt inverter for my sunroom. I have 3 battery banks with salvaged batteries. My only problem is I am in western Washington and have minimal sun in the winter. I am currently using 2 300 watt panels, but have about 25 more in storage for when I get out of this "Kali North" craphole!!! I also have a Xantrech 2000-watt inverter mount next to my kitchen fridge, my entertainment center (60" plasma and stereo, DVD, cd), and my garage fridge. I keep salvaged 12-volt batteries charged and can move them to each inverted to keep those appliances running.

    There is a massive chip factory being built in Arizona right now (2nd largest construction project in the country from what they tell us) by a Taiwan company because they see the direction things are going with China getting ready to take Taiwan and they want to get out before it happens. Hopefully some of this tech comes back to U.S. made once the plant comes online.

    Yea, I’d love to have solar but there are too many obstacles for me. I live in the woods. I get very little direct sunlight. I live in the woods, on purpose. I have cut an opening for a garden, beside the pond but that’s 200 yards away. Yes I know higher voltage is less amps coming from there but I want that sunlight for the garden. I will not cut down more trees. I built this house 1/2 mile from the road on purpose. I want privacy in the woods. That’s not exactly compatible with solar. I spent a boatload of money to get power back here without cutting down the woods. I’ll just do the best I can with what I’ve got, but for others, get solar.

    • @vinlago
      @vinlago 2 года назад

      Why not try mounting panels up in the trees? Or build a treehouse type platform between some trees and then mount panels on that? You can use tall posts to reach up high enough for light. It's unusual but work with what you have...

    • @grdelawter4266
      @grdelawter4266 2 года назад

      Really? That’s your suggestion?
      If I built a treehouse type platform, the leaves above would still be blocking the sunlight. Your second suggestion is to put it on poles? The trees are 80 to 110 feet tall!!!
      Do you remember reading that I’m in the woods? A tree in the city doesn’t have to grow higher to get sunlight so they are smaller. I would have to have poles that are at least 100 feet above ground. Can you guess how much that would cost? Oh yea, then there’s that problem of getting them here from where ever they are made. Sure I could do it with a couple million dollars, will you loan it to me? Oh but then there the building code restrictions that are nearly everywhere that requires special permission for anything over 50 feet high, you know there’s a problem of people flying in machines that might run into such items!

    We are finally getting a solar. As you were saying, technology has got to a point that it can be done simpler with the all in one inverters. I built a 1500 watt system in a day to power our water well. And have the components to build a 3000 watt system to power freezer and refrigerator and washing machine. When I get a minute to build it.

I have plans to re do some things like maybe try a 3000 watt 12 volt inverter to lower the Temps on motor start up and insulate the shed that is in to lower Temps in the summer. I am very new to this and it seems trial and error for now. I do know that there are all in one 240 volt inverters that should run your well. The 12 volt pumps are limited to around 300 ft.

    I am stupid desperate for a DC system just big enough for lights, a DC fridge, and fans. You know who won't help? Solar companies have no interest in a small solar system. I have lived off grid for years so I don't believe in much electricity use, I just don't have the brains to built it. If a person wanted to start a solar generator for emergencies not grid tied they could clean up, I run into ppl like me all the time. Either old, poor, disabled or not technically minded enough to do it ourselves. Heck make a plug n play system and grow rich..or a consulting company with step by step.

They can light on fire and if you try to put it out with water it gets worse... lithium fires are impossible to put out without special chemicals. zac is correct, but in a way so is your point. question it, but when you learn about it, then know it. Commifornia is pushing solar and batteries because they will not allow more generation to come online, so the power companies have to use the consumer to make up the difference. BUT.... just because they are doing it doesnt mean it is evil. hitler drank water, so is water evil? the way commifornia is doing it and what they regulate makes it tainted , but you can choose to do it on your own terms and thus gain BUT a simple fire extinguisher that works for lithium is easy to get. dont want to buy one, well there is an age old alternate, SAND. know thy enemy.
