Will, Happy New Year. Thank you for bringing us the news, and hopefully we might meet at some of the exhibitions. I really appreciate the time you take to collate, and bring us the news. Cheers, and stay safe, Happy Modelling. Michael
Listening to DCC-EX saying they are wanting to make Railway Modeling affordable to everyone, maybe they could do a pitch to Hornby to save their company. Hornby's prices are outlandish, the TT120 isn't selling at all (just ask Hobbyco to get a vibe) and Hornby's DCC requires yet another total rebuild. Will I had a shocking 2024, ever since the Apple Studio Display blew up I'm lost in the woods, had another new low year on my channel as Google do their best to shut me down. 10 years of solid decline on RUclips. I can't see how anything can change.
I would literally love to be the Hornby CEO and fix the mess that it is... it's so **very** clearly a lack of management vision and skill. Given their name in the industry and brand awareness... they have no excuse.
@@paulantoine1696 Looking at the majority shareholders of Hornby were dealing with private equity funds. In understanding this it's no wonder why the company is a train wreck from top to bottom. Hornby's share price never breaks out to a new higher high. It's only tracking towards new lows, been in this trend since 2007.
@@paulantoine1696 Hornby's majority shareholder at over 80% says this - We believe that the nature and depth of our investment approach gives us an edge. We are a learning organisation, and at the heart of our investment operation is a team dedicated to the understanding, analysis and monitoring of businesses and industries, organised to make the most of our collective and cumulative wisdom in business and investment
Happy New Year and thanks, really appreciate these news videos. I would have no hope of knowing what was going on in Australian model railways without them.
And thank you Will. I always enjoy and appreciate your videos and the work that you must put into them. Very well done and thank you again for another year. 😊👍✨
Happy New Year. Another great video Will. That DCC EX CSB1 looks really interesting. I might get one of those just to have a play with. ps Saw your name on the latest BRMA membership list. Hopefully will see you when you're next in SA.
Happy new year Will, with a wonderful video again Will, with a lot of great info about this wonderful hobby. Hopeful you can make the Perth show this year and hopeful meet you at this show
I have an ARM K class locomotive. I used the short underset shank #144 kadee coupler on the locomotive and tender. I just fitted these to the coupler mounting on the locomotive. The couplers don't pivot. But I haven't had any issues in curves. For tigher radius curves. The Kadee #147 medium underset shank couplers will be fine. Using the underset shanks won't require any modifications to the buffer beams.
A Few things to add for the D55 Consolidation, For DCC you need a small 8pin chip to fit in the tight space in the boiler. Also for the tender coupler to work properly you will need to bend it upwards to have a proper couple to alot of rolling stock.
Welcome, Will, to 2025! You are fantastic, extremely-hard-working, superlative, extremely dedicated, and inspirational. I'm sure that all of us gunzels and rail modellers who have been watching your News from episode one, or later, really appreciate what you do, and hang out for the first day of the month for the brand-new episode. If you are having a bad day, think how much better your good days will be? I hope that I am correct in truly saying, "lots of love to you, from all of us". Remember to reach out if you are due for a hug 😃💝🚂
I was wondering what was going on with Auscision's releases this month. I know I'm not alone when I say I'm still waiting on the release of the CLP/CLF class units. I definitely have my eyes on CLP-9 if that one is in the pipeline. Since it seems Australian trains also use Kadee Knuckle couplers I can do mix-n-match consists, thus I'm thinking CLP-9 might make a nice running mate for my model of Santa Fe 5704 (Santa Fe's recently fully restored 1976 American Bicentennial Unit) from Athearn: Genesis. To that end when I bought that engine from my local hobby store that was the day that those guys became aware of Auscision Models' existence.
Nope! They very very rarely want to be included or rather don’t reply to attempted correspondence. I can’t comment on if they’re going as I’m not involved with the exhibition. Sorry I can’t be more helpful
Waiting for new releases from Auscision is just an inconvenience. Waiting for something you pre-oredered in May 23 for delivery in the third quarter of that year is something else entirely.
I reached out to them and got a refund as I was sick of waiting. I told them they need better communication 🤷♂️ I found out the Cls were delayed for the 100th time (exaggeration) from a group on Facebook and not from them. Look at other manufacturers in Australia they constantly update you and if it gets delayed they tell us or if it arrives early then it’s a celebration
I paid for 4 x Eureka 38 class locomotives, which I was able to pay for in regular installments. These are fully funded by October 2019. Thus far, nothing has arrived as yet.
So as this is an ongoing comment and I’ll just keep addressing it. I have had no correspondence answered from SDS. If I knew or had any information I would have put it in the news. Sorry I can’t do better.
Will you need to go interstate and explore the other model rail stuff that is outside of Victoria. You are posting too much Victoria related model rail stuff and you keep on leaving out other rail modelers such as NSW and SA and WA. Please leave the state and try going interstate
Hello, I am so sorry I have not met the expectations of fans to this point. I still work a normal 9-5 job and do this in my spare time (which is now days no existing) I am sorry again, and I can only keep trying harder.sorry again.
No apologies necessary Will. You provide a brilliant service to the Aussie model rail community that we should all feel thankful for. Your work is appreciated

Same to you!
7:49 Uh... that's the works plate for Clyde Engineering. The NSWGR emblem is very different in appearance.
My mistake. Thanks for correcting it
salutations for 2025 bro!!!
Thanks!
Thanks a great post. I cannot believe ARM produces a $300 model in to days market without a working head light.
I mean it’s a small thing to keep the cost down I’ll take it!
Nothing from SDS?
Does anyone know if they’ll be at Geelong this year? Their website doesn’t show any upcoming events.
Nope! They very very rarely want to be included or rather don’t reply to attempted correspondence.
I can’t comment on if they’re going as I’m not involved with the exhibition. Sorry I can’t be more helpful
Hey Will not sure if u noticed but they Yarra Valley Easter Exhibition flyer has the wrong dates
Thanks for pointing that out! It’ll be fixed for the next edition
For the first time in years I'm super excited for a model - that being the 94 class 😅
I’m sure it’ll be great!

Amazing stuff available for serious modellers.
Yes, absolutely!
CL class, DEB, MGFH,NPHH models are.all awaiting a ship to transport the container to Australia.
Would love to get confirmation on that!
It's on their Facebook page.
Do you know anything about the SDS K classes Will? Nice video!
So as this is an ongoing comment and I’ll just keep addressing it. I have had no correspondence answered from SDS. If I knew or had any information I would have put it in the news. Sorry I can’t do better.
@ ok all good, thanks mate! Happy 2025!
K Class?
No correspondence with SDS was answered once again. I’m sorry I can’t provide a more comprehensive report.
I like australia model trail william james uncle 😂
