But REAL rap music was only being played on underground stations. In the late 1980's, one of the radio stations in Boston that was playing all the latest rap music was WERS at night (from 8 to 11). It is the radio station for Emerson college. I used to listen to them every night. I remember hearing them play Follow The Leader for the first time. Rakim was already my favorite MC but this track put him on another level.
