G2 was always my favorite generation in terms of toy design because it really captured the delicate elegance of horses (which I personally prefer to the cutesy stubbiness of ponies) while still being playful and girly. This may be why I really love the alicorn designs of g4 as well.
I don't know anything about g2 before this video, but I loved the names of the pones in particular. idk, they just sound real fun and full of personality. My theory sense g2 wasn't the most popular gen, Those who made the characters had more creative freedom
Unpopular opinion,I am not a huge fan of g1 ( I don't say they are not pretty, I like them just not my fave) BUT I'm dying for g2❤❤❤ fell install in love with the designs ! I am lucky I live in Europe! my late grandpa used to buy me a lot of them aww so many memories❤
I love G2 because the ponies look so pretty! I really want to get Silver Swirl because she is gorgeous but she is far too expensive in box for me to get 😢
I might not own any G2 ponies, but I have seen them in many videos and I agree that they are beautiful. The G3 ponies will always be my favorite though for three reasons, (1) the way they are designed, (2) their size, (and 3) G3 is the only one that I know of that had blank ponies, which were meant for designing your own characters, which I did. I have a figure of my O.C.
First: BRING BACK THE MALE PONIES SERVING CVNT Second: I used to own some fake g2 ponies and bro, I TELL YOU THAT I LOVED THEM, they were so horse-like but also cutesy, this gen, Ico El Caballito Valiente and Barbie And The Magic Of The Pegasus are my favorite horse related things becuase they managed to keep the animals looking like actual animals but still give them things that make them more appealing(G2 And the barbie movie for example had the palette color, and Ico have a very good balance between acting like a horse and talking and thinking like a human)
G2 has a beautiful design, and I love it like I love all generations - Sun Sparkle is my favorite G2 pony too, because I love her design, and I am a fan of adventurous/explorer female characters, which is what she is usually depicted as. I also like Prince Firefly's design. I love how G2 has mane characters, despite not having a show, but of course, the show is not all that My Little Pony can be (and it is a toyline first, of course.) I'd have loved for G2 to have a show, and hope that a fan with a talent for animating can do the next best thing someday (if they haven't already.) :) I like how G2 is your favorite generation (G3 is mine) - it just goes to show that, for everybody who loves My Little Pony, there's always at least one generation to them that is *My* Little Pony. ^_^
You know? Youre right. They should've made more cool earth ponies. I want to see queens and princesses or other cool stuff with earth ponies, they never got a personality as their own in g4. Pegasi are energetic Unicorns are passionate And earth ponies are.. communal? How do you describe someone having a strong community? Because i would'nt precisely describe them as sociable either. They really didnt had a personality.
What song is at the end I've been trying to determine the lyrics to search it up because the melody sounds good but I cannot for the life of me hear them over the screeching staticy cover vocals

G2 was a big part of my childhood.
I knew that G2 never had a show but their toys really are very pretty. I did not like how the G4 pony toys had giant eyes.

I will say my favorite generation overall is still G4. Best show. But for toys, yeah, G2 reigns supreme for me.

G4 really robbed us when it came to earth ponies.
They are cute, but I mainly collect G1. G1-G3 are the cutest, not a fan of the way the later generations looked.
