A dividend trap is a high-yield dividend stock whose payout is simply too good to be true and isn’t sustainable in the long term. For many people it can really be tempting to put all of their money into a company that offers a really high dividend. But beware because behind that high yield, usually lies a company with a flawed business model, poor fundamentals, and a management team that doesn't know what to do with their money, besides giving it away to shareholders. They are unable to make the business grow. The best dividend stocks do not have very high dividend yields. This video about dividend stocks, dividend investing, and how to invest in dividends is great for beginner investors. Make sure to keep your portfolio free from any dividend traps that destroy your gains, and reduce your passive income. This is how to invest in stocks for beginners, and how to build a dividend portfolio.

Be aware that some dividends are "qualified" and have more advantageous tax considerations than "non qualified" dividends like REITs. How a dividend is taxed will have a large effect on the actual value you receive.
I think you are missing the dividend earnings in 2019,2020,2021and 2022 to determine if there were losses or not at 11.40 price per share, and considering this dividend was not reinvested
Thank you for all this information i am new to all this investing stuff but this does help
176%. Yikes! Simply Safe Dividends gives Lumen an 11 (very unsafe) Dividend Safety score as well. Great video!
Great video as always, Karson. What do you think of closed-end funds (CEFs)? I read an article in Forbes about their being a good investment (with very high yields) so long as you buy them at a discount.
Don’t know much about dividends, so don’t know if that made any sense.
Great content! Thank you! 👍

I thank you for your video. I'm new into investing and I'm 57 years old. I was thinking to invest into USAC (Use Compression Partner LP). But after seeing your video, I have doubt. Can you give me advise with good dividend yield for my age? Thank you.
Same age as you. Here are some good ones at this age: LEG, TROW, BTI, MMP, EPD, STOR, T, VZ, PRU, BBY, BEN, MMM and index fund SCHD when yield is 2.9% or higher
Wow great video. I need to contact you when I am ready to invest.
