first, go to where you want the original tempo to change, now find the sound table button above the tracks display, there are some buttons, like grace note, vibrato, and stuff in this bar thingy with all the buttons, there will be one that looks like this : --|-- this is the sound table button press it and a little window should pop up in this window look for "tempo" when you find it, click it and adjust it to the tempo you want. click ok, and continue the tab as you want
@yksblue sometimes windows media player or some other application will "hog the midi" for lack of better terms. Try to open a midi file in W.M.P. and press play. Then while that midi song is playing try to play something on guitar pro. If you can hear both WMP and GP playing then close GP, open a not midi song in WMP, press play. Now close WMP and open GP. With any luck you now have a working guitar pro.
If you have the free demo - it won't have the RSE (Realistic Sound Engine) which is the better quality sound library included in the full version you have to purchase.

@Tranzorr You just need to reinstall the GP5 font. It should be somewhere in the program files. Just double click to install, or copypasta it into your Fonts folder.
@ruaridouglas just go to ultimate guitar, search back in black, find a guitar pro tab (says on the right in yellow) and click it, then download. you'll need to have the guitar pro software installed though.
It sounds like a midi issue to me. I'd suggest messing with the configurations for which midi table your using. (Sound -> Midi options) try setting everything back to defaults if it worked for you at first. You probably messed with them and didn't realize it or something. You might want to check your midi volume channel under your windows volume controls too... Maybe it's just turned down or off. Hope that helps

An example; I would like the X fret, the "c" note on the 4th string after transposition, eg by minus 1 (down semitone), to stay on the 4th string and be on the IX fret. But that is not the case most of the time. The "c" semitone down to "b" should be transposed to the 9th fret of the 4th string and it jumps to the 4th fret of the 3rd string. And so it is with many notes throughout the song. So everything is in disarray.
Do you know what kind of sound card it takes to get percussion tracks 27 through all the way to 84 to actually sound out? I have an HD video card yet it still doesn't support those other instruments when played with the RSE.

you would need a pickup that can output as midi. Roland has a bunch of them, and then you would need a midi input on your computer. Look at the GK-3B from Roland.

its easy just change the timing for the bar you are on and make sure there are enough notes in that bar. eg if you change the bar to 16ths make sure you put in 16 beats

its a good software trust me man. Helps a lot in understanding the notes and tempo. also there is a 1/2 speed button that allows you to learn the exact tempo.and thus its easier to understand the notes. i did not download it from the website i feel bad :P probably will buy from them soon when i start working next month hehe

pretty much, yeah. But if there's something you don't like you can always change stuff in the song.
not if you want to produce music in it. It's just for creating notes that you can use when you play your real guitar.
