The staff at arcades will definitely help out at times if they see you struggling with a machine for a while. When I had been to Japan, I was at one of these machines for a good 15 to 20 minutes trying to get an MHA Deku figurine. The woman who had been patrolling that aisle for a while took pity on me and had me pause so she could maneuver the box so that it would fall with a push and she clapped and congratulated me once the box dropped 😂 I was so thankful but also slightly embarrassed. This was so freakin hilarious to watch. Thank you for your sacrifice Dish 🤣

It’s actually quite common with Japanese crane games. If you are struggling with a prize, you can call staff over to ask for help. (It’s harder to do online, but you may get lucky)

I would like to point out that this is literally the definition of pity. She pulled so many times that she reached the pity threshold😂
why do i imagine the staff just being like "this fella's struggling lets give'm a hand" like thats kinda wholesome especially when she finally got the little whale plushie and the staff gave her a thumbs up
It was so fun watching another play Cremas! I find their machines more forgiving and the staff really nice and prompt in support. ❤
Some tips that are good to know:
- You have 30 seconds to start the next play before getting timed out. Sadly, there is no visual timer that tells you that. The timer is extended to several minutes when you select and start the process of topping up in paypal, card, etc.
- 20 plays = Pity, once you reach 20 plays in a row on a prize, staff will help you win when they notice the machine counter so take your time on each play after the 20 mark if they don't come help immediately.
- After a Pity win, staff will give you either a Thumbs up or a Hand puppet thumps up. Submit the video replay to inquiries to get some points back. There is still a chance staff will give you a thumbs up anyways after you win so check your winning replays! Winning a prize with the red banner seen in 0:55 will also give you points back after submission.
- Machines can glitch out. If you see the claw move far off in a direction when you had already let go much sooner, that is a glitched play that can be refunded. There are also times when the claw arm is stuck in place too. Send the replay of that play to staff and they'll give you your points/ticket back. Please note when a glitch occurs, do your best to not touch the prize or cause movement to it because that can give them grounds to not refund you and see it as a normal play. Letting the timer run out or moving claw far back is usually the way to go.
- There is a constant flow of events. Make sure to check them out to win extra points/tickets!
- There are 3 login periods to collect your daily tickets/points. You cannot get them all at once. In JST time, they are at 12 am - 8 am, 8 am - 4 pm, 4pm - 12 am. Tickets expire 24 hours after you receive them and points expire 6 months after.
If I saw the claw machine next to me moving on its own I'd probably have a heart attack

The staff at arcade places are so nice!! This summer I visited Japan and I went to a arcade place two days in a row and this guy recognized me both times because I was trying to get Genshin pins both days lol, he tried to help me by putting the pins against the edge of the hole haha
My cousins amazing at crane games and got a giant bag of snacks one time when the crane games were on sale, she and my mom also helped get me a Kaeya plushy!!
