Horrors of the Day of Judgement by Ibn Katheer #1

Dars 1: Verses of the Quran
This is a series of our usual weekly hadeeth classes at our masjid (UMMA Centre). They are based on the reading of Imam Ibn Katheer's (Rahimahulla) al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya section on description of the Day of Judgment. This section is published as a separate book called Ahwaal yaum al- Qiyama (or The Horrors of the Day of Judgement).
The reminder of Qiyama i.e the Day of Judgment, the horrors of the grave, Janna and Jahnnam are a constantly needed admonishment so we stay focused on the straight path and make preparations for them and that we are not deceived and deluded by this world and its happenings. Its reminder destroys the pleasures of this world and wakes us up from our slumber and negligence and helps us prioritise our life to that which is most pleasing to Allah Ta’laa.
May Allah Ta’laa make our graves a garden from the gardens of paradise and not a pit from the pits of hell.
O Allah make our reckoning an easy reckoning.
