@@Akengaroo Not that JYP is shitty, but a shitty job that allows their workers to get sick on the job will still give them leave when they get too sick. I am just saying that the mental issues didn't just appear out of nowhere, he overworks some of his idols and it shows. That isn't saying that he's a horrible ceo or JYP is a bad company, it is just saying that, like other companies, JYP has bad traits to it. I just don't think it should be hailed as the best.

the fact that their former artists could tell this in broadcast shows that they have a good working relationship. They left the company on good terms.

Lol I adore her relationship with JYP. He is someone she highly respects. Even after she lefy JYPE. and with the song Ganisha as her comeback song, even before it was released... she even called JYP to listen and asked what he thought.. of which he told her it was a great song and that it would do very well. I am so happy that she can explore and make decisions on her music, concept and styles now. Also 24 hours will always be one of my favorite Sunmi song. Her hair, her makeup, no shoes, her no face expression, it was all perfect for 24 hours. ❤

JYPE reminds me of school. It's obviously hard and you have to work your ass off to graduate. But in the end, it's all going to be worth it because you can benefit from what you learned and you can strive harder due to that. Jyp is like the teacher and Sunmi is like a student. You must have hated your teacher for pushing you to do stuff but in the end it's really worth it. And lets be honest, as years pass you'll really realise how grateful you are to your teacher and you would respect them because of how much success you have. Sunmi has learned a lot of things from staying in JYPE, she even found her own style from staying there.
Also as a dancer, some people may say that you should always give expression and to not just have a blank face but honestly it's more about the tone, mood and style of the songs. Emotionless faces could actually convey more than how it looks and the look for 24-hour really suited it. Including Sunmi's new song, Lalalay, she even had the emotionless look at one point but it was still charismatic as the timing and the mood was just right.
But anyway, I hope that everyone has a great day!
Chung Ha, Daehwi, Shownu, and Chaeyeon were all ex. JYP trainees for a long time but after leaving the company and developing and learning their true potentials during their time there they became one of the most known talented and deserving idols of todays generation. Bless JYP for developing this amazing artists

jyp already done well promotes sunmi as a wonder girl member. i luv sunmi as one of wonder girl maknae despite sohee is the truly maknae. i always support all jyp family even they left company because of their strong relationship with the company. all of jyp trainee are amazing dancers like sunmi, hyuna, chungha, momo, izone(chaeyeon), yeji.
JYPE is like a school. You are little, unprepared, new to everything, taking smol steps.
Then you leave with your head high, proud to have "learned" there, and be who you wanna be. Thisis one of the main reasons I like JYP. Best out of the Big3 no questions asked.
When she started working in JYP's label she was a nobody so it makes sense that she would have to listen to him because he is experienced. But now that she has become somebody in this industry, she has more freedom to explore and play with music because she already has a fandom and few people would hate if she tried something different. So I think doing as JYP says is good in the beginning. Now that she has more experience she can be her own boss.
Why you call somebody who’s not famous a “nobody”? Each person has its worth. I think the term nobody is not suitable.

@@ana.medina Being part of Wonder Girls is being part of JYP. He said that before JYP she was a nobody. He is basically saying that working with JYP and doing everything he says was a good thing because he will make you famous and give you good guidance while working with him. Then once you become famous and have experience, you can venture off on your own and do things your way because maybe his way is not the way you want to continue in your career. His relationship with idols is basically like raising a child. You guide them until they are 18 and then your kids will venture off and go on their life.

I really admire JYP. He nurtures and supports his artists while they’re young, he’s very particular and controlling yes but his methods work. He manages to bring fame to those he recruits and still had a good relationship with them when they leave. That’s the sign of a good mentor.
Sunmi would have been the last person I thought would have a hugely successful solo career when I first got into Wonder Girls in 2008, but she’s grown so much! And a large part of that is JYP (most of it entirely down to her courage and strength though)
Please remember this was sadly the Norm in the industry not a JYP specific thing.

I still don’t like that whole “half air half sound” technique. When Tiffany was in sister slam dunk and had to record at JYP she said she hated it because it caused vocal regression so she took vocal lessons again just to get her voice back into good shape and reverse the damage. She said that he doesn’t really focus on technique but more so emotion and feeling the song.
Andrea JustAndrea hence why she had vocal lessons. She has actually improved over the years to the point of expanding her range as well as supported range by the time of her first solo with i just wanna dance

JYP knows the female industry so well. He knows what sells that would also be fitting for his female idols.
Besides, that was Sunmi's come back from a long time hiatus from Wondergirls. JYP needed to hit it right with 24hrs and the follow-up Full Moon so Sunmi could establish her name as a solo artist.
Jyp is so funny person but serious as dead when it's come to the work.
I think among the other companies he gained this right. He is the only one that seems to care about his idols mental and physical health and he don't likes when his idols are treated unfair. He really seems like a good papa that just wants his childrens to study for their future

Whats admirable is that not all but often artist even those who have left JYP still have great relations with JYP, they freely talk about their experiences and share stories because they are comfortable.

Before anyone castrates JYP, you should realize that this is the norm in this industry. They dictate how you act. Some even more harsh than JYP.
Yo Han I would argue that could be said for anywhere, because that’s the harsh standard as an “employee.” Are we free and independent in our schooling, work life, etc? The answer is only to a certain extent. We have supervisors, directors, among others who are ranked above us and forge the guidelines which dictates us. I honestly don’t understand the dictation argument, as none of us are ever truly free in our daily lives.
@@andrew-song it makes sense there is authority. That's the whole point to give directions, set and enforce rules. There's nothing wrong with that. It's worse when there's lack of authority and businesses go bankrupt, students fail school and such. Even on the job I see people slack and not care but if the manager or boss is around, they don't do that and do their job.
You need authority, if my managers didn't give may authority and didn't have us put away customer accounts than when we get yearly audited, if it's no where to be found you get deductions and hence government can be after you. Authority is to preserve rightful conduct. Abuse of authority is another thing in itself. I don't think total freedom to do whatever would be good or people could be lazy at their jobs since no one is telling them to focus and care. If they don't want to listen or don't like it, leave, if freedom is more important than following guidelines. The authority may have more experience hence why the take the role to guide others.

JYP does right by his artists--except grant them the freedom they want. Sometimes, granting that freedom is absolutely the wrong decision for some careers. That's why many artists feel refreshed after leaving, and come to realize how many things he truly was right about. :)
That's why very few ex-JYP artists dislike the man. He was a strict Dad whom they couldn't wait to get away from, yet knows he rightfully earned his "legendary artist" status.
When Sana and Momo were on Nizi project, JYP asked them if they wanted to do another reality survival show, and they were like 'hell naww"

everyone knows what a pro JYP pdnim and JYPE is. they will find a suitable concept that appeal to the public and build a stable foundation for the artist. that is why when artists leaves JYPE, they can easily grow because they already know what suits them most while putting in their own ideas & opinions as well.
also I find it nice that JYPE never tries to trap the artists when their contract is done. if they want to leave, he'll respect that and support them as a growing artist. no sue, no scandals, no bad blood.
I think the only negative thing about Jyp ent is that they made you sing with an other technique and perform with a “Jyp style”
@sana n Shiba- They continued that Jyp style up until Got7. Got7 still has that Jyp sound to them( you can hear it in their music).
Jyp stop doing that with twice(except signal, that song sounds very Jyp)..Twice is a tone down version of SNSD so they have more of a SM style. Twice happy music & sound reminds me of Snsd happy music from the past(that's what got SNSD popular too). Now Itzy has a very 2NE1 + F(x) mixed style and sound. Jyp now is just making versions of other agency's past groups, so they are not being original anymore. Their last original girl group was MissA. If people look closely the way Jyp is marketing twice & itzy (and also their image), is Very similar to how SM used to market Snsd & Fx in the past as well. At this point Jyp is just going through the history books of past Sm groups and trying to replicate the groups, methods & marking process of sm past groups.

It is like you had learned a lot from JYPE and now you gratuated.
JYP Ent and JYP, the man himself, are a great company and a great mentor, teacher, trainer. etc. They truly seek out the best in an artist in an AUTHENTIC way without pushing them past the physical limit or having them keep up an image, skill or aesthetic that isn't for them.
He/the company isn't perfect, so this isn't always the case for JYP artists (@ JYPE please let Momo's vocals thrive), but I've noticed that JYP isn't as controlling as other companies and lets their artists BREATHE, so they can truly show what they have to offer as an artist instead of acting out the prim and perfect facade that most companies give to their idols- -(YG*coughcough*)-
But yea, I completely understand not wanting to go back no matter how nice the company is lmao. They could be perfect but once an artists gets a taste of true artistic freedom, they don't ever want to go back and that's the best thing for most of them. I'm happy Sunmi is thriving 💘

Jyp is not dumb, but he would not let the girls sell their own creations. His always took priority. And they all 4 had surpassed him. In their last album reboot their songs were 20x better than his. He was the downfall. Sunmi is amazing and I'm glad she learned discipline. She will have a very long solo career.

This reminds me of how he pushed Jb to write songs that have the same colour as him. How jb changed Eclipse so many times as it will suit jyp's taste. Not to mention how the maknaes tried to push songs like Teenager and Page to be the title tracks, where the rappers sang the chorus. But Jyp didnt let them bc he said it wasn't got7's colour. He knows GOT7's colours better than GOT7 themselves😭😭
You know it's a voting system, right? So many employees are there to cast their votes. JB is an amazing producer but truth be told, his tracks are a hit or miss in the Korean market.
And GOT7's target has always been to reach the Korean market and be known. You can't blame JYP if he'd ask JB to re-do his tracks to appeal more to the Korean market.
Look at Stray Kids and DAY6, their songs always get a pass each time.
@waleed AS are you sure about that? When they performed Page on a music festival, that song literally got trended on Melon bc public were curious about the song. That song created hypes than the actual title song.

Jyp has always marketed stray kids as a self producing boygroup since the start and look how they are doing good on their own, without jyp medlling with them. Day6 too. And thats what we wanted from jyp, letting got7 has freedom like how he does with stray kids. Thank you

You do understand that it's a voting system, right? So many employees take part in the vote. What good does it make to produce your own song but with low quality and wouldn't move the market at all?
And be careful what you wish for. Not all top idols who left their home bases became successful afterwards. Some aren't even active until now. You might wait until they reach their 40s so they could be like Sechkies and G.O.D.
JYP is too detailed, perfectionist, & controlling. He can make his artist to repeat 1 word a whole day until he is satisfied. It's not surprising that his ex-artists are reluctant to work with him again.
