Ive had this bike for about 8 months, I am super happy with the bike, im 6'2 and about 220lb and even still the bike is a ton of fun to ride offroad. I almost exclusively ride in an OHV park on 2 track. It does great and ive even done some light jumps on it. I just wanna add, you CAN rip supermoto wheels off road. It's like riding in the rain. You CANNOT brake super hard and you CANNOT turn quick. Find a safe speed for where you're riding, take corners a bit slower, brake smooth, accelerate smooth and you'll be fine. I have a WR250 on sumos and I take it all over. The absolute limit of sumos is mud and deep sand. But everything else, it CAN do. If you're casually exploring wanna hit up some light trails like in the video, sumos are fine. If you wanna getinto some nasty difficult trails where you need more traction, get some dirt wheels. But tbh, just swapping tires can be good enough. There's Groms going crazy places with different tires.
I have a question. When the XXX comes back in stock, would you be able to purchase either the Dirt or super moto wheels for no additional cost. Instead of just having super moto wheels and having to spend $400 on dirt tires?
Great video guys! Just a quick clarifying question, does the 3x come stock with the street wheel/tire setup only, and the dirt option you have to buy separately? The range varies based on the total weight and the amount power you're using. If you ride the Ultra at an average speed of 20-30 mph then you're gonna use very low amps to maintain that but as soon as you go fast or ride fast for long you're basically using up to 170 amps compared to the light bee's 80-90 amp tune in the highest mode with full throttle, which means you'll get a fraction of the range for that slight speed increase which you could just get on a light bee with an aftermarket 60v/72v + controller with more range/extra power or just by using a 42t sprocket. Additionally, the range is influenced by factors such as your route, frequency of stops, tires, PSI and whether you're riding on road/off road of course because it's also about rolling distance and using the regen feature for frequent stops. Essentially, the Ultra has a 4kWh battery but the bike weighs 50% more than a light bee, so the increase in range and weight won't be impressive it will just be a small improvement if you average over 30+ mph. If you upgrade a Surron X with a 4kWh battery like the Chi 72 touring or the 72V57Ah from ebmx (preferred), you'll get much more range and speed with less power than you would with the Ultra as it's showing right now based on its reviews. Another thing to know is since the Ultra is specifically designed for off-roading. When you start upgrading the battery, which adds more weight, it'll most likely affect the ride quality as well which some might not like or prefer when off-roading, simply put they'll probably enjoy it more with a spare stock battery. Upgraded Light Bee's still excels in almost every single category though which makes the better choice for city riding/light trails
