    I've got the same guitar and planning on changing the pickups. Im stuck to three dimarzio's > D Activator, Blaze and Evo7. I dont know which pickups I should pick since 1527 is basswood. Im into shredding actually. but you've got an engl and I only have a 5150 with crate cab :P so I dont know which of the three pickups I should get for a basswood and a 5150 :D I really like your video very clean playing and with the D activators in the bridge!

    I lack the vocabulary to describe your guitar tone other than that I like it.

    Thanks for you comments dude;) Try GrooveTubes EL34LS , it's the best tube you can find out there of course expensive ;)

    i have the same amp, i'm just asking if you tink in 6l6 are better than the el34?.. cuz the powerball and the savage are in 6l6 and they are so brutal!! so i'm just asking ;) nice tone dude! ENGL rules!

      I like the roundness of distortion of 6L6, but the clarity and chunkiness of EL34 is superb!

    @MyExRebirth Shit...i meant to say "yes" to this like back in the middle ages and shit. Yeah I think it's a pretty bombass idea. It'd be kind of cool to have a d sonic in the bridge and neck, but have the blades next to each other so it looks like a double patty hamburger. The coils would be the sesame seeds.

    actually I tried also 6L6 on my amp & the tone was so close to a Mesa Dual Rectifier, but with EL34 it's very different, like a modern Marshall with lots of more Gain! & also more dynamics.

  • @MyExRebirth

    just use high quality EL34 tubes instead of 6L6's and keep the gain knob around 12-2 'O clock;) Although I lost a high range of dynamics with camera's built-in mic!

    To Be Unique ;) No, actually I wanted to see how a D-sonic sounds on the neck based on the tone description over the bridge, I wanted to test my imagination & I was right;) I got one of the tones I was looking for! what's your opinion?

  • @MyExRebirth

    Personally I prefer passive pickups, so Activator is my choice, but if you like the clarity of active pickups, then the Blackout is the way! \m/

    @InnkeeperX Thanks dude ;-) keep on rockin' \m/

    @bklixuz It's just the matter of taste, all of 3 pickups sound very good, but Evo7 & Blaze sound more articulated on Solo stuff exactly like Steve Vai, but D Activator is more useful for heavy rhythm stuff, its more balanced, & Of course it Rocks very well on Soloing too! but a little bright with Basswood as you can hear in my video ;)

  • @InnkeeperX
    @InnkeeperX 14 лет назад +1

    Ah, well, your playing is very good. Sounds just like the studio version, for the most part. A difficult song, for sure, but you pulled it off, no trouble at all.

    @bklixuz go with Bare knuckle pickups. Far better than any dimarzio. trust me you'll thank me.
