Two years later this motor is going strong ruclips.net/user/postUgkxBZWgzfpS2Jj7JqIHyaSZjyVHNUgCKCBf Just uploaded a video of it after 2 years. We use it probably a dozen days each year on our small raft.-original review- We got this motor the other day and tested it out. I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems good to me. It has all the features advertised - the motor housing is metal. We will see how it performs longer term and I will revise this review if needed. Some initial observations:- Good thrust, moves our boat around really well- It comes with a circuit breaker but no switch - so there's no way to kill the motor other than yanking the connection off the battery. I installed an inline switch.- The mount bracket is plastic and I worry it might break- There are a number of plastic parts that I worry about, but the most important ones are metal or some kind of composite
@2424dcox I would say that production value is definitely better on LBTB but the content on GFT is ultimately better. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. Do you want education or masterful drone shots in paradise? As a brand new boater I have learned a lot more from the twins. That's why I said they should collab.
100% spot on with all 4 recommendations! Your VHF radio can also be hooked into your stereo with a small adapter, making it WAY easier to hear than when using the tiny speaker on the VHF radio itself. Also, I'm a huge fan of Un-Duz-It. Their Salt Wash product is great for boats or anything that gets hit with saltwater spray.
Right on Clay! GPS...Gps..gps! It can save your life... ease your workload and make a good day excellent! And it weaves it’s way into the other boating technologies like that electric trolling motor on your bow and precision anchoring system on your stern. I agree 100% on this gear. I am’ an old salt but this stuff has a place on new as well as older boats.. Thanks Clay!
You guys are so awesome. I watch your videos all the time. you live my dream life. I think I've mentioned before that center console boats are practically non existent in Arizona and only Law enforcement have them here for the most part. Couple years ago, I went to Florida on Business for a week and was blessed to go off shore and in shore fishing with a couple charters. I fell in love with the Bay Boat I was on and just had to have one. I cant afford a new one and even most used ones are out of my price range or they need to much work, but I did find a 2005 Carolina Skiff Sea Chaser 220 Bay Boat in Mississippi and I jumped on it. So far I've installed a t-top, a minnkota Ulterra Riptide trolling motor, two Garmin Echomap 93sv fish finders with chart plotters. Next thing is power poles. Thanks for the video. Id love to meet up with you next trip to Florida. I love how you respect the environment and try to preserve it. Peace out, Bill.
Thanks for another good video. I grew up on Galveston island, I understand how the weather can get at times, so thanks for managing another interesting and fun, informative video! Keep me coming.
You forgot the decking! Here in crystal river if you flats fish a lot people typically run aluminum boats simply due to their strength and the fact that you can just jump sandbars with them. However, the aluminum can get hot enough to fry an egg at times, so seadek is a must have.
Hey clay, are you wearing costa Reeftons? If so do you have the glass lens ones? What do you think about them? Just curious cause I want to get a good pair of sunglasses! Let me know!! And which color lens. Thanks man.
I want a video on how to just pick four rod and reels, each different, for what you do. Just ordered a ‘22 Freedom 275 and respect your advice. Ive already asked Gale force winds…
Remember when spot locking you can't complain when someone drifts at you. Your the one under power should yeld to the drifter. Spot locking is not the same as anchoring.
5:57 very valid point pulling anchor especially in deep water can really get old fast but some have windlass anchors which makes it easy but sometimes when you are bottom fishing deep some may not have enough anchor line for that situation and that’s where a trolling motor or autopilot can come in to play Side note 6:42 is that Evan signor and his lake n Bay?
Yes, Yes,Yes and Yes! Just quoted the speaker upgrade in my boat and 😳😳😳😩😩😩HOLY CHEET!!!!!!! But its def a must sooo🤷🏻♀️ btw if you havent checked out The Freezer in Homosassa when y’all come up to Crystal River, you HAVE TO….omg best.food.ever!!! They have docks for boats….
For the chart-plotter in many cases you can just use the Navionics app on your phone or tablet, as long as your device has GPS built into it. Admittedly you can't tie a radar into it, but if your boats equipped with a radar system you probably already _have_ a MFD in the dash. For my purposes, I'd take the money for the power-poles and get a good VHF radio with AIS
Hey I have been watching you guys for a while and love your videos. I live in East Tn and me and my girl friend pull my 20 center console to Charleston and fish maybe 7 times a year. This year in august I’m pulling my boat to lslamorada. Is there one species of fish during that time frame that’s better to fish for than another. Also is there any guides you recommend. Thxs In advance
Your contender color scheme is darn sexy. How about an overview of your ditch bag and safety stuff....I'm not a safety sally and would be a good topic to hear. Cheers
Yo! love the channel and content. I'm out in AZ and looking to come to FL for some fishing. Do you guys offer any charters, or whom would you recommend?
Great video, one other thing that I would add is the t-top. What a difference to get a little shade. Nobody wants to feel like a French fry at McDonald’s 😀
If I were to buy a boat clay would be the one that could sell it to me he is so knowledgeable about boating and boats and just about knowing all there is to know about living that kind of life him and Stephanie are living 🌴🐬👍😎🙏♥️🐚
What style sunglasses do you wear? I heard bad reviews from a very popular company and don’t want to make the same mistake. Thanks. I became a big fan of the channel very quickly.

We loved that one. It's always a great addition to the boat if you are able to get it. Thank you for watching.
You guys should collaborate with Gale Force Twins.
Omg yes
Pretty sure he has.
@@jonathandekle4505 being that I have see every one of both of their videos, I know that haven't lol. Where did you come up with that?

@@KyleBoise the video where they fished in a tournament for a 43,000 fish he's on there boat the video is over a year old.
I would add both a wired and handheld VHF radio to the list. It's from a safety perspective.

Stay safe out there today guys much love and respect from the Kissimmee area.

Attention “thumbs down” guy...jealousy is very ugly!
Thanks Clay, looking forward to the Crystal River trip.
Thank you Todd! Same here! 👍👍👍

had me looking at old videos waiting for this one
We live only about an hour from crystal river with our 24 bay boat, and yes definitely need a chart plotter there!
Great video. Have a great July 4th weekend!!!!
Is the black hull hard to keep it looking good as the years pass and the boat ages. I really like black hulls.

Nice boat ❤

Does Un-Duz-It protectant contain bleach? I would love to use it, but I can't use bleach on my upholstery due to the design.
