Can here the recorded barking for The Kingdom of Evil going clearly in the last minute or so - wish someone would have filmed that as it used to be with the jump scare and all! Wonderful to see all this though, could have been preserved as a vintage fair and been a wonderful tourist attraction to go along with the holiday village...
amazing. that kids train ride is still there but that sound in the background if i remember is the announcer with the horse racing where u roll the balls up into the holes. that was always busy. my parents used to take me here end of season in september when the rides were cheap. water splash at the end before the tragedy struck. i try to tell people about the ghost train that went down a hill and the round the world boat ride where the penguins and polar bears were just tipped over lol but nobody seems to know what im on about haha. thanks for sharing!!
The Water Chute tragedy. My mate was working the stall underneath it that day. Poor kid was thrown clear and landed on top of the stall where my mate was working. I remember the Around The World Ride. It was sedate, but class all the same.
I remember the round the world ride. Also the Devils Dipper, Kingdom of Evil, & Water Chute. I loved the Enterprise too, & the Superloop that used to stop hanging upside down.
Loved the fairground - Coney beach. Been there for years. My mum & dad wouldn't let me go on any rides, except the donkey's. But we used to go to Southsea fair loads.
Anyone remeber a ride called devils Cave or devils dipper in top end of the park by the funhouse no one seems to remeber it I’m sure there was a gorilla throwing a rock on the top ??
It was originally the Devil's Dipper, but was renamed The Devil's Cave sometime in the mid-80s. Very rickety ride! Used a cool projection of rotating horror heads as the car was pulled up on the chain at the start...
The fairground isn't as good as it used to be, but still good. Trecco bay caravan park now run by parkdean is shit now though, overpriced and full of non british people, I want to escape that, so went to Happy Valley and it's like how Trecco bay used to be.
What was the ride in background that went upside down ? Was it enterprise? Loved that ride . Trecco bay was far better when theodore had it , before the money grabbing park dean took over .
The spinning ride at 5.44 is the Enterprise......was always one of my favourites!! Last time I went to Porthcawl they had changed it to an entry fee just to get in with wristbands. You can't just walk in and walk around any more! Does anyone remember the Dinosaur Park??
@@kathp6689 YES I've been searching for info on the Dinosaur Park, I was very little and can only vaguely remember. I've been hoping to find video or pictures somewhere but you're the first person I've seen even mention it!
A lot of fair grounds are not as good as they used to be too many big over the top upside down rides bring the 80s and 90s funfairs back get ride of these big upside down over the top rides

Absolutely! Devil's Dipper with a King Kong figure flexing at the waist. I am going to say early 1970s.
