Great video! I'm happy to see so many trigger setting adjustments in in the SPDSX Pro. The Alesis Strike Multipad doesn't have threshold as a external trigger setting, which has really been bothering me.
Man, I splurged on a SPD-SX Pro a couple days ago and this thing packs so many features I love it. Really a serious piece of gear. Thanks for the video, very helpful.
Hi, thank you for this video! I have a question. Would I be able to connect an external trigger that's not by Roland as well? Such as Rtom black hole mesh heads?
Hi there, I haven't tried it myself, I wouldn't think that you could to be honest as you are best to select the model of trigger that you're using for best setup 👍
What happen if you try to manage a 3 zone ride cymbal?? I was thinking, that maybe you might need inputs 1/2 for Edge and bow and input 3/4 for bell and … maybe a splash or something, any different ideas?? Regards and i love your videos
Hi there, so glad you're enjoying the videos. I reckon you're right, might do a video on it actually bit yeah I'd say as long as you can find a ride sound that'll offer you a bell, bow and edge varient you could use 1/2 and then 3 with 4 just being redundant 🙂
Hello! I have a question for you: is it possible to use the SPD-SX instead of a drum module like the TD-50 with the VH-14D hihat and a snare or other external triggers to send MIDI to a drum vst like Superior Drummer and get the same triggering (zone sensitivity on the snare etc.) or would you get some limitations? I'm considering the SPD-SX for a small e-drum kit setup (external kick, snare, hihat, ride and the SPD pads for the rest). Thank you!
Hiya, great question, I've been meaning to do a video about this. I'll get around to it soon I hope! I think you're probably right yes, you would certainly have some limitations, but it might give you enough to do what you want to do 🙂
Hi mate, in the pad edit window you'll be able to adjust the volume, or you should be able to do it by hitting the kick pad to select it (it'll highlight that input at the top of the screen) Then adjusting the pad edit knob with volume selected 👍
Hi, I’ve recently aquired an electronic Roland kit to use with the trigger inputs on my Spd-sx pro. I’m trying to put two toms on trigger 5&6 as single trigger pads with two mono cables into a y-cable, but I can’t seem to get them to trigger separately. When I hit either pad the same sound always triggers. Have you come across this problem and do you have any idea how to fix it?
Do you mean can you connect the Pro? If so, it works as it's own separate device as they both have their own brain. You could probably take a feed out of it into the TD07 brain however but I'm not sure on the inputs

Thank you, ah nice one yeah it's got good parameters ans adjustment to be fair 🙂
65 drums - Good to see you here Justin .
I'm building a Bill Bruford/Danny Carey-esque kit right now. This video is a big help!
Amazing mate! So glad it was helpful for you 🙂🥁

You're super welcome, so glad you're happy with it mate!
Brother . . How to connect a triple zone ride cymbal to spd sx pro
Hey mate, I'll try to do a video about it in the next couple of weeks 🙂
Thank you for your posting this video, it’s very helpful!👍! I’ve a question why the “jack” is 1/2 but is only one connection? Thanks again!
Hiya Edwin, yes certainly, it's because you can plug in a pad that has 2 zones, giving you 2 sounds 🙂
@@Electronicdrumtips thanks!

How do you divide the volume of the kick with the other patches so volumes are not the same
Hi mate, in the pad edit window you'll be able to adjust the volume, or you should be able to do it by hitting the kick pad to select it (it'll highlight that input at the top of the screen)
Then adjusting the pad edit knob with volume selected 👍
Will a KD-8 Kick trigger work with the SPD-SX Pro?
Yes it will mate, just checked on Roland's website 😊

This video should help you mate 🙂
my hihat cuts out when i hit the rim on my external snare any suggestions
Can I use it on a Roland TD-07DMK V drum kit?

Thank you very much. Your advice should help me in the future. Your videos are very great. Keep up the good work😊
Are you aware that the footswitch input is latent on the spd sx pro?
I wasn't no to be honest 🤔
