Wing Chun goes inside and outside, depending on the Attacking Mass Energy Vector, and the Opponents Limb and Body Positions. The main difference, is the Body Structure (Wing Chun does Not bend the Spine), and that it uses a LOT more SAFETY precautions, in its actions (which help to prevent devastating counters).
There is a Circle Step in Wing Chun too. The circle step, is often used to go around the Opponents Lead Leg, while you Advance. It also can be used to Evade the Opponents Kick, while you advance. The Circular leg movement, can also "Clear" the space in front of you, as you advance (deflecting attacks). You could also think of it, like moving your arm in a half circle, going around the Opponents lead arm... like driving your car around a parking cone. And or.. using that circular arm movement, to lightly deflect the Opponents punch. Once you have got past the Opponents lead leg, you still may need an additional step, to get to their Back: This depends on the Opponents Stance. If the Opponent is in a "Side Stance" (like in Jeet Kung Do), its very easy to get to the Spine/Back.. because they are already turned towards you. However, if the Opponent keeps their shoulders and hips squared to you (like in Wing Chun) ...its much harder to get behind them. As soon as you try to step to the side of a Wing Chun fighter, they are already turning their body, and stance, to follow your new angle. Baguazhang does use a few special tricks. One of them being, a full 360 degree spin, when in close range. The spin can be very Deceptive, and hard to counter... because its a full body mass of spinning momentum.
Not just the chest... but also, more importantly... the Head (the Off Switch). Your hands are in the center... so that it only takes a little bit of movement, to go up or down... as needed. Having your arms in the center... also forces the Opponent to use longer round strikes, to try to go Around them. Longer and Rounder strikes, take more time... and are easier to See / Read. That makes them easier to evade, or deflect... as you have much more time, to do so. Also, with round strikes... a simple step in one direction, can take away most all of their potential power. There is a lot more to it... but this is a good start.
Lee never Excluded Wing Chun. In fact... when Lee got a lot of money from his films.. He went back to Hong Kong, to try to get his former teacher (Yip Man), to speed teach him the rest of the art of Wing Chun. Lee brought many bags of cash, to try to Bribe Yip Man. However, Yip Man refused his bribe. Lee then went to Australia, to learn more Wing Chun from William Cheung (his childhood friend, that got him into Yip Man's classes). Cheung was a Disciple of Yip Man. Cheung Did not want to risk damaging his reputation, and his relationship, with Yip Man. But, because Lee was his best friend, he called Yip Man up, and asked if he could teach him some more Wing Chun. Yip Man decided to allow it... but with some rules. He told Cheung, that he could only teach Lee "PHYSICALLY". NO VERBAL EXPLANTIONS, at all. The reason for this... is that each Wing Chun lineage, has special descriptions. Yip Man did not want others to know that Lee was "Cheating" ..within his Lineage. So... William Chung taught more Wing Chun to Bruce Lee.. very late in Lee's Career. Unfortunately, Lee did not really understand a lot of it... because Cheung was not allowed to tell him any descriptions. Lee also did not have that much more training time with Cheung, due to his filming schedules. It was not much longer from this period, that Lee passed away. You can find this Story, on William Chung's website. Realize that Lee never gave up Wing Chun. He did try to HIDE the Wing Chun, however... because he was never Certified as a Wing Chun teacher. He only learned part of the first Level material... and there are three main levels of training, in Wing Chun. Each level takes a few years to learn, and master.
@@JAGUAHOVY Happy to help. But to be clear, these are not really "Rules"... Imagine if you were a student of mine, for 5 years. You came every class, and worked very hard, both in and out of classes. You paid your class fees, every single month. Now imagine... If one of my friends askes me to teach him. But instead of me teaching him at the same Pace as you... I teach him the Entire system, in one Weeks time. Wouldnt you be Angry? Most people would be. Imagine angering your entire class of students. They might choose to try to fight you. And or they also might Quit. Of course, the biggest problem with Speed Teaching... is that there is no way that a person can Absorb all of that information, in such a short period of time. Not only will they never be able to Remember it all... But their Bodies will also not have the Strength to do all of these things properly. For example... When you first start learning Wing Chun... you stand in a special stance... where your knees are deeply bent, so that your Knees are directly over the top of your toes. Its a very stressful stance... and since your legs are so weak at that point... you can barely hold it for more than 60 seconds... before straightening your legs, to take a break. If you cant maintain your stance for more than a few minutes... then you cant expect to do your advanced drills, with the proper stance. And you certainly will not be able to fight with the proper stance... since your legs will get too tired, too quickly. If you have a poor quality stance, with weak legs, and weak TENDONS... then everything you try to do... will be Weak, and Unstable. It can take several months of training, before your legs get strong enough. Eventually, you should be able to stand like this for an entire HOUR, without any strain / stress. As such, when you fight... even though you are burning through much more energy, and will fatigue much quicker... you still will NEVER lose your Strong Stance. Lee would have kept learning more Wing Chun... but there were no Wing Chun teachers where he lived, in the USA. As such, he just trained on his own. Since he was a very good martial artist, and since skills from Wing Chun were so much more Advanced that what was being taught in the USA... he ended up attracting a lot of people that wanted to learn from him. But as Ive said, he couldnt call himself a Wing Chun teacher, because he only knew a Little Bit of the art. That would be like me calling myself a Chef... even though I only knew how to make a few different meals. Its not I couldnt teach how to make those dishes to others... its that I should not label my teaching course, as a "Chef" course... since I never completed an official Chef school course. Cheers.
Single Rapier Fencing, is mostly "Committed" strikes (stabs)... while using a side stance. You can get away with a side stance, when you have a very long sword. However, your arms are not quite the same as a sword. If the Opponent in a side stance.. suddenly lunges forwards at you with a punch... you can easily deflect that punch... and afterwards, you have an easy counterstrike to the Opponents Back / Spine (Or grasp their neck, and choke them out). However, Fencing is not always so simple. What if you have TWO rapier swords? Then your fencing, would be Very different. It would resemble something much closer, to Wing Chun. Wing Chun arm techniques, is basically like fencing with Two Swords / Rapiers. Aggression, can also be found in Wing Chun. It just looks different. In Wing Chun, you do not bend your spine. However, you can still generate Lethal output power... if you have trained your short range power, to Maximum levels (Masterclass level). In Wing Chun, you should never need more than 4 inches of arm travel, to be able to END the Opponent, forever. Wing Chun also has very advanced Leg Fencing methods too. These methods, are similar to the arm techniques. There are also lightning fast Kicks.. where you can kick multiple targets, with the same foot... before setting it back down.

Willing is not enough, we must do.
