- Probably my most realistic looking pastry creation!
The teapot and the cups are composed with a crunchy hazelnut streusel, a moist hazelnut sponge, a soft milk chocolate and Earl Grey cremeux, a crunchy hazelnut praline, a light Earl Grey mousse and a fresh Earl Grey tea gelification with edible brown gold leaves.
What do you think of it?
Guichon’s show on Netflix was the best. The fact that none of the contestants were kicked off and instead got a chance to work directly with him was so refreshing. I can’t stand cooking/baking shows where someone gets kicked off every episode because a contestant may have just had a bad day. Guichon showed patience and a love for teaching and it was the best baking or cooking show I’ve ever seen just for that reason. I truly hope he does another season.
I haven’t had a chance to watch his show yet but just these videos make me long for the days that food network would air the hours long competitions for this like sugar, cake, chocolate, etc. Getting to see that kind of mastery and work was alway an awe, even when I was really little.
this is by far the best review of the show. I know folks have loved it, but I also didn't want to watch a weekly vote-off show. Knowing they all get to stay is wonderful. I will definitely start watching now, tysm.
@@nitenefew129 I watch a lot of contestant cooking shows and it always bothers me when people get kicked off. Guichon is an amazing artist, he is kind and patient as well. I couldn’t believe it that the “losers”, instead of getting kicked off instead got the one on one session with him instead. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

What I love about your videos is that there are actual layers and all types of flavors and clearly a lot of love in your creations instead of just plain cake and fondant

I love this channel because you get stuff that looks like it's an object but without a 5-inch layer of play-dough (or 'fondant' as some people call it).

@@ahhh4117 Yummy chocolate... Although I would venture and say that her cakes, while very time consuming and hard to make, wouldn't taste as good as this one 🤤
That or modeling chocolate are what cakes need if you want to make them hyper realistic. These are all pastries that can include cake, but aren't limited to it like an actual cake is.

@@happily_blue pretty sure it takes more time to make sideserfcake’s cake than to make the desert shown in the video, the sculpting takes a lot of time, plus making it realistic is even harder
Can you imagine inviting someone over for tea and then you just cut the tea pot in half? Lol now I kinda want Chef Amaury to start pranking people with his hyper realistic creations.

I can never get over how happy he looks in his videos. The man clearly loves his work and has so much passion, and it makes it so much more fun.

I agree! You can really tell how much he enjoys his job…it’s clear that it’s NOT a JOB to him! Lol and his smile …. Oh his smile….I love how he smiles throughout the whole process. His videographer deserves some credit too. 👍🏻👍🏻

I've seen so many people make realistic cakes that never look appetizing. However, when you make cakes, they look delicious to eat. The textures and flavors must be amazing. You truly have skills.

This guy is the epitome of that monk sand thing. He spends days making these insanely complex and detailed creations that look 100% realistic, and then when he’s done, he just slices through it. I have such mad respect for him.

I love the small details like matching the flavor to the theme of the piece and even making the filling look like tea with the leaves 😱 You truly did the traditional Chinese teapot artistry justice 👏🏼 The music is the cherry on top and helps with immersion. Honestly this man is such a genius. The transition between the spout and the main body didn’t seem perfect but the eye pays more attention to the body. I feel like this man was so meta he knew he didn’t even need it.

That is a Very cool Tetsubin (cast iron) teapot and cups!!! The attention to detail is even up to Japanese tea pot quality standards, LOL! Always amazed at what I'm going to see next!

I’d love to see him do a show where he takes people who know nothing about chocolate and teaches them the basics and has them make simple chocolate art and gradually get more advanced with each episode because he seems to be so patient with all of the contestants

Y’know I'm genuinely curious: do you need to keep the kitchen cool in order to keep the chocolate from melting everywhere? And how does it not melt on your hands?
I'm assuming it's tempered chocolate, which behaves a bit differently. It sets better, has a shine to it, and doesn't melt as easily at the temperature of your palms. It also has a nice snap to it!
Gonna guess that many surfaces the chocolate is rolled out on are refrigerated, and indeed many of the pieces are. But I am not a chocolatier.
Some pastry chefs use marble tabletops and rolling pins when they roll out heat sensitive doughs because the material tends to stay cooler. The counter top seems to look like marble so maybe thats one other reason why the chocolate doesn't melt so easily?

That's what makes him unique. He doesn't solely do chocolate or solely do cake. He combines many desserts in one!
The 'Nanbu Tetsubin' is a specialty product made in my home region, so to recreate and make it in sweets like this is pretty amazing.😳♥️
The uniqueness of your products is coming from that realistic fantastic design but also you configure them with a taste , it is ans visual art and also it is delicious. Because today they are lots of realistic cake makers but they dont give importance to taste . Your work is fantastic
