Thank you for this video! It was quite informative! My husband and I will be going on our first cruise in a few months. …I’ve been reading up on many people debating online about when they actually allow you to drop off your luggage even with purchased FTTF. It’s giving me so much anxiety. Hah! I want to bring all of our luggage on the ship to drop off; but many are adamant that they were told by personnel they weren’t allowed UNTIL 1:30! Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thank you so much. Sure, i can explain that. If you mean dropping your luggage off at the terminal early. This can be done as early as 9am no matter what your check in time is. If you mean dropping your luggage off in the room after you board the ship. This is absolutely a perk of FTTF, but they ask that you just drop bags and go if before 130 and not hang out in the room. Without FTTF or being platinum or diamond, people are not supposed to go to their room for any reason prior to 130, but people sometimes do.
I heard you state that passengers are allowed 1 bottle (750ml) wine OR 12 cans soda per person. Their policy doesn't mention the OR condition so either or both should be permitted (?)
Key cards will be in your door mailbox at 1:30. They no longer provide them at check in. Between boarding the ship and getting your room keys, just show your boarding pass to pay for anything on the ship like drinks.
Great video. Just need to clarify one thing for me. We are FTTF on our next cruise. When we check in on line and we happen to get a late check in time, being FTTF can we get in doors (10-1030) ish regardless of our appointment time on our board pass? Can we just go in the priority line and begin the process? thanks,
If you don’t have status, but you’re traveling with a diamond or platinum status person in your party, is it possible to stay in the same boarding area with them?
How was security. Was there any sniff dogs? Not that I am planning to bring anything on, I have anxiety medication and adhd meds that I take. Worried I’ll get pulled aside and get even more anxious

If I would like to Carry all my luggage with me when do I have access to my room? Will I carry my luggage all day? Also I do not have a passport, is a birth certificate and a regular drivers license okay ? When do they check your drivers license and birth certificate?
Thank you Isabelle, this are great questions that i will need to address in a video, but let me also answer them here. Rooms are available at 130pm and unfortunately you are expected to lug your carryons around with you until then. You will not be alone in this though. A birth cert and driver's license is fine for most cruises, carnival will warn you before booking if not. Only a few countries require one in the Caribbean like Columbia and Panama. You will have to show your id and birth cert once when you first enter the line at the terminal for check in and then when leaving the ship at the end of the cruise, that is about it. Thank you
This was very informative!! Thanks. I do have a question though: Do you have to check your luggage with the porter or can you take it with you to board?
Just be aware that you are stuck with all your luggage until 1:30 or so unless you have priority boarding. There will be no place to leave it until rooms are ready to be released.
Yes, you have the option of checking luggage, carrying on luggage, or both. I often check a big bag and carry on a small bag that i could not do without. Also, your checked luggage often does not arrive until after 5, so you might want toiletries, a bathing suit, or dinner clothes carried on with you.
How does embarkation go for people that are disabled and the cruise line uses one of their wheel chairs to board those people? Like do they board those people later than others, sooner, also do they have a different entrance than the gangway? Having to get pushed up the gangway works be a tough job for those workers.
HI, you board at the same time as everyone else in your class. Diamond, platinum, FTTF or standard boarding, but they take you up the elevator and that means you skip some of the gangway, but there is still quite a bit of gangway to traverse after that and they will provide an attendant to get you on the ship. You do use the same entrance as everyone else and yes, i be it is a tough push, but i suspect they are used to it.
Maybe its just me but I found the instructions for checking in 14 days prior to your sailing date to be slightly confusing. It actually sounds like you are saying for people to come to the port after midnight on the day before they leave. You did not use the words - Check-in on-line which I think would be helpful. Otherwise - a great informational video.
Sorry, I doubt before 8:45am at any port I have been to before although I have not been to Long Beach. In my experience though getting off a plane, collecting your luggage and getting a ride to the port would eat up a lot of that time.
