I've been doing this for a while.....saw it on a video.....if you buy different brands you get different spaced stitches! Also....I sometimes use the track in my paper cutter to stay straight.....works real well.;).....and..... thanks for the inking idea! Never would of thought to do that! Have a wonderful day......hugs!.....Becca
I know what you mean about those dies. Some of them are punched/stitched/perforated and I've even seen some that have little dots. It really adds something to a project. I love that red glitter paper!
Love the cards! I like that little wheel... I mount the metal tape from the hardware store (for wrapping pipes) onto some cardstock and run that little wheel back and forth and all around and it gives the look of hammered metal! Love it for matting my Christmas images to my card base... Gives just the right amount of bling to the edge...
Wow I just stumbled on this video after finding my stitch tool when cleaning up my craft room. I never opened it or used it. Now I know what to do with it! Thanks for sharing Maymay! You’re the best! 💕😍🎉
cute card and great idea! love the tip to put adh. on back of ruler.! I had just pulled my tracing wheel out a couple weeks ago when i was doing some distressing, just ran the wheel thru my brown ink pad and randomly ran over my card stock piece. I'll have to give this a go! thanks.
I do this too, using a sewing implement that looks just like yours. I got the idea from Anna at Sassy and Sweet Notes. At first I tried to get my lines really straight, but now I kind of like it when the stitch lines cross over each other on the return and are not parallel to the edge---which is a great look on prim style cards or for a more artsy look. BUT---had not seen anyone use ink on the sewing tool...that's a great idea! TFS!
I had used my wheel to make marks, but I had never thought to add the ink. Thank you for thank you for this video! You are always so much fun! (I do realize it is a couple of years old, but it came up in my feed and I enjoyed it!).
HaHaHa this is so funny. I showed this to my girlfriend a while back and tried to get my husband to machine me one I could use all the time to make my stitching anywhere. Great minds think alike. I am like you the dies are outrageous.
You are to clever Amy! I love this idea, especially if you don't have the stitched dies. Wish you would have did this before I bought my stitched dies. lol Your cards are just darling Amy!
CTMH & Stampin' Up sell rullers with holes in them and the poker that fits in them so that you can do on you own inexpensively along with the stitching tool you are using. I think your tracing wheel is much easier to work with.
Great idea! Wouldn't using the rubber embossing mats for a Cuttlebug work as well? I have used mine before for similar. They are soft but, not too soft. Love the technique and having a "Duh" moment since I sew and never thought of this.
Thank you so much! I was thinking this would help with a technique I was thinking of. I could use my sewing machine but I just did not feel like going there :)
VERY COOL!!! Am going to buy the stitch wheel and give it a try for sure. And, your cards are super cute. Thank you so much for sharing and the inspiration. Taylor:)
Love this look and the technique! I believe I have an old one I got from a thrift store junk box some time ago. Thanks for sharing MayMay. Big Hugs!! Reeah.
You want believe I was thinking of trying that rolling it in the ink. You could also get the carbon paper and use it instant of ink it comes in different colors or use to :-} my age is showing. Great idea.
There is a tape called amazing tape that is clear and it can be used over and over. I use it to wrap around my thread so the thread doesn't unwarp and make a big mess. It comes in different sizes. I keep one of my Tim Holt rulers with the tape on so it will not slide works great and it is clear so you can see through it. www.amazon.com/Hugos-2-Inch-50-feet-Amazing-Tape/dp/B002768GRO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1420908906&sr=8-4&keywords=amazing+tape
Here I am 2 days short of 5 years later. Still cute. Still works. Still a great video. God Bless!
