Program C, Zone 4 is 3pm for 12 minutes and start. Nothing. Program A works for all zones at 4am , 4 days a week. I really appreciate your feedback. I can't get any help from Rainbird support unless I wait 1/2 hour on hold. I have tried three times. My hydrangeas are wilting. Thank you for any help.
great video full of information. One question that isn't answered (at least for me) is how the multiple programs A-D can be used. I understand that two programs (A and B) can be 'stacked' such that B will begin AFTER A has completed, but is it possible to force it to only run program B or C or D alone? ie unstacked? I'd like to have a program for alt day watering... when necessary and daily when needed. IS this possible?
No but you can save zone times in those programs. Then just add and remove start times as needed. Consider upgrading to a rachio smart controller app programming makes everything easier amzn.to/3MINgLv
Just got off the phone with RainBird tech support. The answer to my question of "how to suppress a program?" - ie if you want 4 different programs to be loaded into the controller - but only want on to actually run - simply set the start time for the unwanted programs ie B,C,D to "off" This might be obvious to most, but it wasn't to me... :)

Great video!! Thank you! I have not been able to find an answer to my question about being able to have program A and program B active (not sprinkling) at the same time. For example: Program B runs all my sprinklers for lawn & garden which I run 3 times/week. I would like to have Program A set to water all my flower pots daily, which I have set up as a drip. It would be ideal to not need to switch it back & forth from prog. B to A & back daily or sometimes a couple times/day. I couldn't see anything in advance programing to cover this. We just bought a home with this system. Do we have to go out and manually switch the programs? Some of our zones are on A and some on B and the trees and shrubs are on C...
Nice instructional video! I got 2 questions if you have time to answer them. +Daniele yes but you may need a pump start relay. All programs will run an overlap as long as there are zoned time and start time for each program. They will also do a procedure which is called stacking if the zones are set to run at the same time in different programs it will run first program a and then program b after a finishes

because you would program what days you want each to run on they can overlap, for example if new sod was laid on just zone 2 so you can program B to run just that zone a second time on the same day. also programs (stack) so if a programed start time happens while a cycle is running it will start at the end of the current run cycle.

@@Irrigation_Tech_Talk so if I laid new sod in zones 2 and 3 I should put that under program B if I want to water that daily and program A can be all zones twice a week. Just an example. Thank you for replying
@Amarie310 exactly
How do you reset it to wipe everything out and start over.
Lance Henry I believe there’s a reset button on the back of the panel
Hey so how come sprinklers don't turn off automatically? I have them starting at 4 a.m. and I have 25 minutes on each station. They just keep circling around and around until I turn the dial to off.
+Alex Pedroza make sure there is only 1 start time
yes there's only one start time
+Alex Pedroza did you check to make sure there's not a start time on any of the other programs
REdUDEMAN There's no other start time on any programs. Would seasonal adjust have anything to do with it? For seasonal adjust it was on 100 for all programs.
+Alex Pedroza seasonal adjustment will just run zones longer. You do realize that zones run end to end not at the same time right?
How do you turn off the 2nd run time?
After midnight one click
REdUDEMAN Thanks
I am using the ESP Me for my irrigation, I am having problems it is not irrigating but it shows to be active. The water tank is full, the pump is running but the pressure gauge is on zero. What could be possible problems?
William Musazura have you primed your pump
My system runs through once and then runs again. I want it to stop after it has run once. I have observed that "Set Watering Start Times" Program A says, "1st 6:00am." Program B says, "1st 7:00am." Programs C and D say, "1st Off." Can I solve my problem by changing Program B to "1st Off?" If so, which buttons should I push? If this is not the solution, please help!
Thanks.
Mary Stone thats excatly why it runs twice to remove the run time go one past the 12:00 midnight to go to off
because you would program what days you want each to run on they can overlap, for example if new sod was laid on just zone 2 so you can program B to run just that zone a second time on the same day. also programs (stack) so if a programed start time happens while a cycle is running it will start at the end of the current run cycle.
Hi. This system is installed on a house i purchased. How do i figure out which stations are which? Ex: is station 1 always the front yard?
+jul labro most of the time zones start in the front yard and move around the yard in a circle if you want to change the order you can move the zone wires to change the order
So when my program starts, my stations 1-10 cycle through but they all say OFF. What am i doing incorrectly? thanks.
Your rain sensor may be wet turn to the yellow sensors portion on the dial and then disable the rain sensor with the arrow or Plusbutton then try
It worked, thank you much!!
Yep
He was goo until the end , started getting lazy on us lol
AmazingA Williams some times
My neighbors irrigation doesn't run at all!? If I turn the controller to test, will it bypass the rain sensor? Thanks
Marlene Nesbitt yes
You can also disable the rain sensor from the yellow position on the dial
Otherwise if it still doesn’t work there could be a wire problem
Hello
I just bought a house last year and some of the zone were not working. I called the company and the guy came and fixed it but now again zone 4 , 5 and 6 are not working. Please help me out if you can .
This typically would be a common wire problem try to redo the white wire connections.
Less you’ve had some landscaping or possibly a cable line or utilities installed they could’ve hit the wire at that time
REdUDEMAN can you please make video on that please.
REdUDEMAN I can turn it on manually but not auto.
abdul Omar did you have any digging done this year?
REdUDEMAN I am really stressed out about this . Please help me if you can .
Is there a way to do 4 zones one day and the remaining 4 zones another day and run it automatically?
bjmunsonline yes program the first 4 zones to run and select the day press the round program select button and then set the other 4 zones to run on oppsite days you will also have to set a start time for program B
I am a sprinkler con i have ben installing.the espme espsms esplme rain bird cont/ timers 4 a wile never had a problum my sprinkler dis told me that hunter cont are a pain he had a couple of the hunter xcore 2 wire con that he had 2 send 4 repair
hunter xcore is a value controller they are better than rainbird stp witch are total junk you should stick with a commercial controller hunter pro-c controller is just as good as the esp. 2 wire controller is the ACC expensive and only worth it on very large systems
When I look 4 a controler I look 4 1 the customer can use and has good ratings
How long do you water for new sod (Saint Augustine grass)?
+949surferdude 30 minutes zone two times a day three times a day if it's over 85°
Great Video, Thanks!!
+Rolando Barrera thanks for watching hope it was helpful
Are station the same as zone?
Yes
@@Irrigation_Tech_Talk THANK YOU
is there anyway you could set different watering times on each day?
+SuperMarioAwesome if you set different programs for different and start time for those programs
@@Irrigation_Tech_Talk theres only 4 programs tho....and 7 days of the week?
@@DarrenGlen sure buit you tipically would run in the morings
Is there a way to program to run on odd days and omit Saturday/Sunday?
yes first set the controller to odd days under advanced watering cycles then you can select a day on the dial hold both arrows at once this will allow you to turn off days permanently
Thank You
hi i have problem with (SET STATION RUN TIMES ) i can't to do more than 18min and she torn in the zero. i don't know what's
the problem because normally she has (1min to 6h ) but now just (1min to 18 min)
What program are you on?
@@Irrigation_Tech_Talk ESP-ME
The button that says program in the middle make sure you are on program A
I have done all that for program b but it's not working. should I reset?
+Michelle Russell yes reset then program it again
Useful video!
my rainbird clock comes on at unprogrammed times; clock was set to come on at 4am and 6am today; stations 5 and 6 came on only, with stations 1,2,3, and 4 not coming on at all.
+Montery12 sounds likely that you should check the other programs to make sure there is not another start time
Would a leaking valve throw the time program off? I heard that "a bad solenoid could upset the clock's performance." Thanks for getting back.
+Montery12 no a leaking value would not affect the controller if it takes a surge it can hot post and always send power to the value
All good. Thank you.
How to set it to come on automatic
Auto run
how cancel the station delay time
Someone turned on program C …. You don’t show how to turn on and off programs A B C D….. I don’t just want to start pressing buttons…. HELP!
Push program button until display shows c then go to start times. After midnight it will display “off” do this for any start times.
@@Irrigation_Tech_Talk THANKS AGAIN!!!!
Let me know if you have additional questions
How do I cancel a second start time on Program A? Turn the second start time to off?
if you go past 12:00 midnight it will say off
Thank you, Thank you,Thank you...You saved me a lot of time & a lot of money on my water bill!
+Judy Catanzaro no problems
I set mine to manual station. I input 1 hour and 30 minutes, and press arrow to start it. it starts but then it says time remaining 30 minutes. Why? It still goes for the full time I set it for. Very confusing
+Robyn Kay check the seasonal adjust %
Seasonal adjust is 100% and has never been set up. in my programming I have this particular station set for 30 minutes with 3 start times. On another station, i have 5 minutes only. When I do manual station on either of these, regardless of whether i input more or less time that is on the "Programme" it displays the programme time. Strange. It still seems to run for the time I input, just the display is incorrect and very confusing if I want to know how much longer its got.
+Robyn Kay are you setting all of this on program A
No it is on manual station There is a program A and a program B.
+Robyn Kay There should be a re set button on the back of the front panel you could press that but you'll have to reprogram it
En français est ce disponible?
I only speak English
2023 now discontinued and no ligature on Rain Bird website. This is horrible corporate thoughtlessness.
Hopefully my video helped if not you can call 1800-rainbird help line but honestly will take time but they should be able to get you pdf of the instructions
how to programing for Overseed we need 6 cycles per day.
turn thed ial to program start times
use the right arrow to select a second start time

How can I change one station from skip to watering?
try going to zone run times and adding time to the controller
Hey i know its late..lol
I have a customer with this system and everthing is set and when i put it on auto the water dont come on
Check voltage form the controller. It might be a problem with the wire
Hi, thanks for the video. How do I delete an existing program?
+Subramanian Iyer you can just remove the start times for that porgram
?Can I run 2 zones in the same time
+Ali Ali no
Mine does, that's what brought me here.
How can get to cycle zone by zone ? All mine come on at once and I would rather do it zone by zone and get more pressure.
Anybody can help me need to know how to turn off 2 zones in my back yard I have a patio an it's getting wet inside of there from the zones back there just wanna know how to stop them from coming on.
Go to run times on the dial use the arrows to select those zones and zero out the times
Anyone know how the rain delay works
***** set dial to delay watering then hit plus too add to the number of days you want the delay to last then set dial to run it will resume watering as normal after that
i have a degree in Electronics, and yet the mental way this thing has been designed is just frying my brain. This thing is harder than a VCR to program. I have 9 Stations but the damn thing will only let me set up to 6 start times? where is the start time for the other 3 stations? what would have been so hard about setting 9 start times for the 9 stations and 9 "ON" lengths for those start times. But NOOOO. I still dont get it. And the manual is as good as useless. it reminds me of the old Japanese synthesizer manuals..."Turn Filter to adjust filter". Well The damn Rainbird manual says "adjust start time to set start time". So where is that start time linked to the station i want to start? no-where!!! like i said this thing is just doing my head in
only set 1 start time it will run all stations with length
start times ar if you want to run in the morning and at night ect
let me know if that makes sense
hi thanks for your reply but I cannot run all the stations at once because the water pressure is not enough. I need to be able to run them separately at different times and I cannot set the start times for the last 3 stations
Darren Glen only set start time 1 they run sequentially
@@DarrenGlen
Here's an example of how to program it.
Program A
Start time #1. 7am
Zone 1 run time 5 min
Zone 2 run time 5 min
Zone 3 run time 5 min.
Zones 4-9 run time 0 mins
Program A
Start time #2 10am
Zone 4 run time 5 min
Zone 5 run time 5 min
Zone 6 run time 5 min
Zones 123 789 run time 0 min.
Program A
start time 3 1pm
Zones 1-6 run time 0 min
Zone 7 run time 5 min
Zone 8 run time 5 min
Zone 9 run time 5 min.
Hope this helps
I should have taken Dramamine.. dude needs to hold that camera down it’s all over the place 🤢
All my camera work is like tgat
I'll never understand why none of these sprinkler dudes that made videos for this sprinkler system talked about HOW TO SELECT AND USE JUST ONE PROGRAM my god it's frustrating. This system has an A, B, C and D and it insists on using them all and it takes a damn MIT professor to be able to stop it and in none of these videos do any of these guys address it. They all just say "select A and turn it to auto run" uhhh yeah, that shit ain't working big guy
Isn’t RUclips great!
It is

I have this controller too but the problem I have is that every 2 days or so the controller will reset its date and time to 1 Jan 12 and the time to 00:00 (12am) and stuck on that. This means the watering will not start at all. I have tried pressing the reset button and set the date and time again but it would reset after a few days. Any ideas if its broken thanks.
+saauuzza you can try replacing the 9 volt battery first in the back of the panel it may be because of power failures but may also be a bad controller they should replace it for you it is within the 5 year warranty bring made in 2012 Rain birds help line is 1-800-RAINBIRD ( 1-800-724-6247)
+REdUDEMAN Thanks, yeah i tried two 9 volt a lithium and alkaline. I think its a faulty unit I would RMA the device. Thanks again.
