- Poverty is true in Japan but we're in control of our lives in spite of disability.
日本では貧困は事実だが、私たちは自分たちの生活をコントロールできる。
Helpful and efficient healthcare system in Japan is helping its citizens who are living in poverty. It is true that there is poverty in Japan but we're in full control of our lives inspite of my husband's disability.
Living frugally is not a difficult task to do for me and my husband. We are keeping ourselves in control with our sanity. We're not fully in control of everything but we can calmly deal with problems and set our long term goals.
We know our needs as well as the feeling how we can fulfill them. Sometimes, life can be overwhelming and get caught in negative emotions. Doing something I'm good at reinforces my self-worth and purpose. Doing what we're good at show that we're capable of creating success.
Japan is my husband's country but it is giving me all the strength and power to protect myself and my husband's living regardless of my foreign nationality.
Hello Grace. You are so good at DIY. I don’t have that talent.
Your plants are so beautiful. They are really an inspiration not only to you but the viewers as well,
May God give you more blessings and good health.
Yes madam she's so very creative and smart strong woman.
Ate Rose, I hope you're doing well with your recent surgery.
@@JennySegotier Thanks for the reply Miss Jenny.
@@livingwithgraceinjapan Thank you Grace. I feel just fine.
Lovely. A good attitude goes a long way to help a difficult situation.
Statistics say so, but fortunately, we're not affected for now. Thank you...
Oh my gosh, that kitty was really trying to hide. I guess he's an outside cat 🤣❤️🌸
Hello, how are you? Well, I hope. I trapped him by putting feeds inside but didn't expect that he would ran wildly around the house. Kitty was scared, I guess, bad me. But he keeps coming back for food.
Thank you so much for your hard work and for making the videos. My brother and I are caring for our mom. She is unable to leave her bed, but otherwise doing well. Your husband and you give us strength, comfort and hope. You both are such strong people.
❤ 🙏🙋🏻♀️👵🏻🙋🏻♂️
Your gift made my early morning so happy. I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude for you have complimented these two things. My hardwork on making videos and seeing me and my husband as strength, comfort and hope.
There are hidden and unspoken pains as caregiver, so with difficulties and losing of hopes that my husband feels sometimes. Sometimes our emotions clash. But we keep on going. It's a mix of love and commitment.
You and your brother are doing a wonderful job as children of your mom. Your mom is very fortunate to have you both. I wish I could hug her now... and the two of you, too. Thank you so much for sharing me that.
Hi Grace. It is good to hear that you and your husband are fine. Medical bills are expensive. I hope your Children help you as good they can. Your Plants are alwasy a pleasure to see. Have a nice week!
Mary, medical bills were expensive but we have paid them alll. Only 3% of the total amount shall be paid by patient. And the good thing here is that, that 3% we paid shall be reimbursed back because my husband is a disabled person. I am not sure when, I'll be making a video with me speaking in front of the camera because I feel the need to be accurate with the details that I am sharing.
I hope you're well, too. Weather forecast says it'll be getting warmer in the next few days.
Gumaganda napo yung mga plant boxes nyo maam Grace kulang nalang talong, pechay at iba pang mga gulay. Ayos na araw-araw na ulam nyo ni sir. Parang nakita ko na mga next video mo, " MY DAILY FOOD---- FROM GARDEN TO TABLE"🤩
Hindi pa puwede mag tanim ng ganyang vegies kasi masyado pang malamig. May or June ay pwede na...yes, it is my plan na magtanim ng maraming vegies this year.
Inspired ako sobra mam sayo simula ng nanood ako palagi ja ako sinisipag
Salamat dahil naging good influence ako sayo. Thank you.
The plants look beautiful; sorry about the kitty- it may take more time - maybe it can eat inside with the door ajar until it feels more comfortable. Wishing you guys the best from the US - Arizona❤
I've been feeding him for months already and I feel he's started to trust me. Yes, it takes time. Thank you and am hoping that everyone watching this channel will be in good hands always. Take care.
Hi Grace, nice to see you and hubby are well.. floor looked great and yes indeed your jungle is back. I think the cat needs you to feed him so he continues to survive, in time he may trust you but maybe he is looking for his owner, maybe he was dump3d or just lost, we need to look after the homeless where we can so thank you for feeding the cat.
Medical bills are expensive but made more tolerable by being subsidised by the government, many dont have that. Your weather looked nice and sunny but if you still have down jacket on its cold, here in Australia finally had a few cool days and am way south away from the floods. Good work up thereGrace x x
These cats that keep coming to our yard are coming regularly the same time of the day. I feed them but I don't want to let my neighbors know that I am. In Japan, there is this unspoken culture that I break, "do not feed stray cats". Because they will gather around your house day and night and might cause trouble to the neighborhood because of the noise. My husband, a Japanese, worries about it. That a neighbor might say something about what I am doing. Culture differences, Maude. It's sad....
Hi Grace you are such an inspiration and encouragement to me you keep everything running smoothly as well as a clean tidy organised home and lovely garden I’d like you to share your organisation skills on how to keep life running as well as you do thank you for your lovely video 🌻
Good morning, Margaret... I love to work using my hands. I have this activity lately at home which I don't share on my video yet. I am decluttering a lot like old clothing, boxes, kitchen wares I do not use much. Thank you, Margaret. I hope you're well... your were planning to move home, you once shared it. Good luck and take care always.
@ good morning Grace I’m also going to be doing some decluttering and hopefully this will help me get better organised it’s just been so cold here it’s held me back from doing this but hopefully soon I can start doing some productive things in the home it makes us fell better to get all our little jobs done in the home thank you grace
@@margarettownsley9500, Margaret, I'd like to let you know that I could feel unconditional love from your comments. You're a person with warm heart. (Out of the topic but that's what I feel).
@ God bless you Grace I try my best to be a friend to many and treat people with respect and kindness and I know you are a very wise good person as well ‘ thought I’d mention to you that the lord has blessed me with a new home it has a lovely little backyard where I will have space to grow veg and perhaps have a plum and apple tree and a little herb garden plus flowers Lord bless you and your husband sister 🕊️🥰🙏🏻
@ thank you very much for your kind words to me Grace I appreciate that 🌻
Your outdoor garden is coming along nicely! You’ve done good work. I rent an older home too. We have a very small back garden. I can’t make any changes to it but I take care of it myself. It’s a great source of peace and joy to me. I planted spring bulbs a few years ago that I look forward to seeing bloom. We put out mikan for the mejiro and I enjoy every “visitor” to the garden…interesting bugs, butterflies, dragonflies etc.
Glad you can relate to my happiness through having a small yard. Thank you for sharing..

God bless you and your family and Have protection over you have a blessed day 🫶🏻🌻🙏oh I wanted share this I have Japanese cousins my uncle when he was in the military and stationed in Japan he married a Japanese women but my aunt and uncle has passed away but my five cousins are doing good we care and love each other 🫶🏻🌻🙏
Thank you for sharing your family story. That's wonderful.
Often in asian culture, children are expected to take care of their parents' welfare in old age. Agree, if parents are illiterate and poverished.
However, in these times living isn't easy on most; whether younger or older.
That's exactly why it is important to inculcate in the young the values of hardwork, thriftfulness and responsible living within one's means.
Parents who do that are more than likely able to thrive on their own in their old age.
When children give, it is a blessing of generations.😊
Majority of Japanese elders are not relying on their kids. It's a kind of Japanese culture that I need to accept so I'm making the most of my "stronger" years to do what I want such as gardening, DIY and a few more.
@@livingwithgraceinjapan
Japanese culture isn't easy.
Harsh work culture, gender discrimination to say the least.
However, the saying love is blind is often true in all cultures.
Regarding your tarnished flooring, it is due to seasonal changes and direct sunlight.
Mopping with parquet flooring liquid helps.😊
Enchanting jungle and great job with the flooring.👏
Hi Grace! Cat? What cat? I didn’t see a car but I did see a predator hiding in your fern ready to pounce on you! He was waiting for you to go to sleep so he could raid your refrigerator!
I like your choice of music. I know you used it before so excuse me for the delayed compliment.
Thanks for sharing! Take care Grace!🤗
😁 Thank you for the humor. You just gave me reason to laugh today. Thank you...
Thank god your husband has a Japanese pension and do do you I believe. Let your kids help along. It’s their duty. God has blessed you with them and blessed them with life, it is their honour and duty to look over you
We're fine. It's small but we can control poverty issues. Thank you so much.

You are a gracious person and parent.
Your child/children are blessed.
I agree with you and am proud of your determination and independence.
@@maryannelow731, Maryanne... I've been through a lot of hardships in life. This condition we have is nothing to compare with what I've been through when I was in the Philippines, working, helping relatives who betrayed me in the end. Life in Japan is hard but with my husband who depends on me, I'm determined to have a happy and quiet life without depending on others. Thank you, Maryanne...I've been feeling down and emotional lately.
