Ankor is a band that was introduced to me, like many, throught my livestreams. I liked them immediately...I think....but the name stuck with me. So when I saw this new release I had to check it out!! It does NOT disappoint....please enjoy!

I'm going to apologise for the long comment first thing.
When Jessie sings " so spread your wings and fly away I'll be by your side" it's like a modern power metal song.
Then the 90s happy hardcore rave break hits and it just works so well ,like it has throughout the whole story. They've come a long way since their early stuff and as great a drummer Ra Tache was for them , Eleni Nota is an absolute beast, they've gone from having a punk/rock/nu metal style drummer to having a thrash/death metal drummer(formerly with Nervosa) and it shows. She just adds an extra gear that they didn't have before. The late 90s happy hardcore/ hard house breaks bring back so many memories of when I was in my teens and early twenties when rave music was in its ascendancy here in the UK. If they continue on the path they're currently on they'll be huge due to their cross over of styles. They've been summoned to Wacken twice and this year they're playing bloodstock open air in the UK. Which is Wacken's sister festival and if I'm not mistaken it's only their second time playing the UK (tour wise )despite Jessie being originally from Bristol in the south west of the UK.

Thanks for highlighting Ankor, Ryan. They are a very different band that mixes things up in the best way possible. And this whole idea of creating a series of songs in "chapters" that form a narrative I think is brilliant. Jesse, the vocalist, is great at both cleans and false cords. And just my opinion, but I think Eleni Nota (ex-Nervosa) is the most technically complete female drummer working in metal right now.
