He was doing a Braindance at the beginning. You basically relive someone’s experiences and feelings during a certain time. In this case he was reliving this guys death. And cyberpsychosis is basically when you brain goes psychotic because it can’t handle the weight of the upgrades. So your body works at a certain speed and if you put an upgrade on it has to work a little harder to keep up with the speed of the machine. Cuz machines work faster than we do. If you upgrade too much it overloads your brain and it snaps.
If this makes you want to play the game then I can absolutely suggest it. It’s been great since the 2.0 update

No cap, shits crazy. Im playing maxed out details at 1080p on 4070 and even with with all the DLSS tinkers turned on im lucky to sustain 80fps in Downtown, which means 40fps without FG. Pretty outrageous.@@slapdatbutton8931

A few things that are important to understand about the universe:
* Night City is an extremely hostile place to live in, with crime being a constant daily occurrence. Only people who are born with privileges get the high paying jobs, and the rest have to work twice as hard just to get by, which is why most turn criminal.
* Cyberpsychosis happens when you get too many argumentations to your body, causing your brain to have a disorder that sends you on a killing frenzy. The "doctors" who add the argumentations are named Ripperdocs.
* 2:35 It wasn't a video game. What David saw was the recording of a memory, from a real person going into a cyberpsychosis, before he died. It's called Braindance, and is basically the highest form of entertainment in the Cyberpunk universe.
* You can pay $500 minimum a month for a Trauma Team that automatically will come help you whenever you're hurt or in trouble, including killing anyone who stands in their way of saving you. You get more benefits the more you pay. The reason they didn't save David or his mom was because they weren't paying members.
The show is extremely entertaining and only gets better with each episode!
The tabletop rpg came first, then the video game then the show. I was sure someone already said it in the comments. This will be another great reaction and maybe one day a lets play stream. I hope you both enjoy it, and have a happy holiday.

The video game is great! I actually got like a post-game depression upon completing it because I liked it so much lol. And, there’s actually a lot of locations from the anime that you can go to in the game as well.
Such a great show, the thing at the start he was watching they call a brain dance, its like a recording of someones memory put on a chip but you get fully immersed, it feels like you're the person with their point of view. When you've played the games and you've heard all the slang and nicknames for everything it comes quite natural but i imagine it can be a bit weird especially if you've never even heard of the universe.
this show made me play the game and the game makes me feel the same way as the show. everybody is out for themselves trying to survive and the city is deceptively alluring yet also overwhelmingly suffocating like no matter what you do or high up you rise it'll still be shit. Really good game tho absolutely 10/10

@@TheCouto11 Well there is a good reasons V isn't here. V is in either Atlanta, Badlands or on corpo mission. No way timeline wise it would fit togheter. Another plus is even though Edgerunners and game is canon with eachother, they dont colide so you can experience each withouth the need of the other
Edit: another thing is that V's appearence would canonize a specific choice or look for a character. A character that is supposed to be full developed by player choice

This show is the best adaptation from a game to tv series. All that you see in it you can find in the game, locations, tech, soundtrack, sound effects, and I'm pretty sure both of you would love to play it! The path I would suggest you two to take is: watch the whole series (just this season), watch the videoclip for the ending song and then play the game! This whole universe is really amazing, with layers upon layers, the side quests from the game are just as good as the main one, and the connection you'll feel with the characters of the show, you'll feel for the in-game ones too! I'm so happy you girls are watching this! Keep up with the great work! =D
BD stands for Brain Dance it's not a video game but more like a virtual reality GoPro movie that you can experience from the insider perspective including pain, adrenaline rush etc. If not filtered and dampened it can be dangerous to your nervous system, brain, heart etc.

Cyberpunk started out as a tabletop RPG, like dungeons and dragons but set in a dystopian 80s version of the future. As you can tell from the show, everything sucks, corporations have taken over everything and are more powerful than governments and cybernetic enhancements are a thing.
The people that made Cyberpunk the video game are the same people who made the Witcher games. They are huge fans of Cyberpunk so they approached the creator of the tabletop to see if he would let them make a game. He not only immediately agreed but was directly involved in the project.
LOVE this show. Played and loved the game so this only made me like the world of Cyberpunk more. Also, what threw me for a loop was that the voice actor for David is the dub voice actor for Tanjiro!

If you two like this anime, you would REALLY like a 2007 anime called Gurren Lagann. It's my favorite anime of all time, and it's by the same director/lead animator, Hiroyuki Imaishi. It was back when he still worked for Gainax, but it's a masterpiece nonetheless. You will laugh and cry, it's incredible. I HIGHLY recommend the Japanese dub with English subtitles, as the English dub isn't very good, IMHO.
Don't think there is a single show I had wished more for you two to cover, you're in for a ride! Enjoy it to your fullest

The game takes place a handful of years after the show
The thing to keep in mind when watching or thinking about Cyberpunk, is that Night City isn't governed by a country, it's owned and run by the Corps. City Services are basically what the Corps can justify writing off as a loss. Meat Wagon meaning Ambulance gives you an idea the amount of funding and training they actually get.

Gloria does not work for Trauma Team. There are two EMT companies in Night City, Trauma Team (which is for the extremely wealthy) and Meatwagon Co (which is for everyone else.) Gloria was working for Meatwagon Co.

The thing to understand about Cyberpunk as a genre, is that most Cyberpunk stories are morality tales about corporate greed running unchecked. In this particular future, everything is run by corporations either directly or indirectly and as a result class structures have polarized significantly (ie. the standard of living for the average person has dropped significantly). People in the setting don't just turn to crime because of its glamorization, but because it genuinely offers better quality of life options than legitimate work.

The real price of the Sandevistan was probably way way above 10k.
In the game which takes place in 2077, it costs around 120.000 Eurodollars. In 2076, where it most likely still was a prototype, I could see the price going all the way up to 300.000 Eddies. Meaning this one piece of cyberware could’ve given them a whole new life if Gloria lived a tiny bit longer and found the right buyer.
Easily one of my favorite animes of all time, it even won crunchy roll anime of the year. On another note, it seems like our society is heading in that same direction. Survival is a subscription service. 😅

I think you guys figured this out but David wasn't playing a video game at the start. He was watching a Brain Dance, or BD, which is a recording of someone's experiences, including all sensations and feelings. That BD was 'scrolled', or recorded from, that Colonel guy who Gloria was at the crime scene for, hence how she got the implant. This also implies that whoever gave David that BD works extremely quickly as he was watching a scene from only hours earlier. There's a lot of context that people who have played the game would understand but isn't really explained in the show, so a lot of people get confused about that.

I swear Vinland Saga is the best anime on netflix besides Attack on titan and demon slayer of course.
The first season is a lot like attack on titan, with its action.But the second season is........ I just can't tell you, you have to see it, something never showed in any anime ever ( maybe tanjiro having empathy for demons is the closest thing to it). Deep philosophy of violence and self reflection is all I can say about it. Awe inspiring thats the word to best describe it.
Its worth checking out.

This Arcane, and Castlevania are the big three animated shows based on video games, all worth watching
Beginning part wasn't a video game, it was footage of the fight. Called bd's. Let's another person to see it in full details like they are there. Also able to rewind and fast forward and scan around the area for other clues.
This anime actually comes out in your little circle thing in the beginning. When it shows the upload schedule update after the AOT. I thought you guys would have seen this anime because of that

Since I'm a huge Cyberpunk 2077 game fan, this anime was such a treat for me. I could see the world from the game with new stories. So many familiar places, the same sound effects, the same parts of the soundtrack... even some characters. I fell in love with the game since its release (even though it was a very bumpy ride for some) - I've got lucky and had only a few minor glitches. And now, after the release of DLC, this is my all-time favorite game: it checks all the boxes for me. Incredible world, fantastic characters, immersive and mature storytelling: both in the anime and in the game itself.

As for Trauma Team, it's a private medical service. You have to pay for coverage and if you're not a client, they will ignore you. David's mom worked for a regular medical service.

Love the reactions! Ive played the game 4 times and watched this twice. Cyberpunk is a “Dark Future” genre where corporations rule and corruption is the norm. There will be alot of words and bits and pieces that are weird if you dont get into the game but it’s still great either way. For example, that “military spine” is something you can get in the game to freeze time, called a Sandevistan. Choom is like bro. Its normal for people to have their brains connected to hardware for slotting in chips, eyes are cool because everyone uses Kiroshi digital eyes replacing their “ganic” eyes. All kinds of fun things like this, and not fun things lol. The music is one of the best parts! Fyi, you can walk around this entire city for hours and not even play the game story lol.

1:21 so in cyberpunk almost everybody has a built in phone in their neural hardware and software along with several ports for slotting data chips and small eye modification if not full basic eye replacements. The phones of 2077 have several modes, you can talk in real time, you can talk without speaking as the phone reads your mental monologue and has a built in voice pattern for you, you can send a feed from some external camera your internal hardware is linked to or like apple phones there is a avatar stored that can mimic your expression and speech and can be used in conjunction with the mental monologue feature.

a little bit of background on cyberpunk as a genre and this setting: cyberpunk is about late stage hyper capitalism. pretty much everything is owned and run by mega corporations (one of those is arasaka) in some way or another. even the implants in your body. it is the dystopian future that furthering capitalism and consumerism will lead to.
the game cyberpunk 2077 plays in the year 2077 (duh), this series takes place in 2076. they are in night city, the 'city of dreams', where people hope to make it big and come from all over, but most end up dying in a back alley or in some gruesome way.
Yeah, this is one stylish show.
This show gave me different feelings. Its sad I wish it was longer.

You obviously don't speak much english, because she is saying "It sounds like" in relation to them not having insurance. Normally you would say "It sounds like they don't have insurance" but colloquially, you can also say "They don't have insurance, it sounds like." which is less proper but absolutely still correct.
