That's the same thing I said That way every side of the city north northwest west southwest and south would have 24 hour rail service The blue line runs to ohare 24 hours so why don't they have the orange line run to midway 24 hours
Literally lived in an upstairs apartment across the street from the Halsted stop (behind Hammerhead tattoo) in my first true apartment living on my own. My fiancee and I had many memories there. The orange line will always hold a special place in my heart.
More than likely the Operator received an audible alarm. The operator must place the train in a braking position until the alarm stops, the alarm sometimes will not subside until you’ve brought your train to a complete stop.
Seeing that the train passed a signal shortly before, the operator more than likely got a penalty brake application from the CTC cab signalling system, likely due to passing a more restrictive signal aspect.
If you've ever come to Chicago you'd realize that the 4-5 blocks take a good amount of time to walk. So a short jaunt between stations isn't too bad. Unless it's the red line. Then you're screwed lol
Here's all the stops
Midway ✈
Pulaski
Kedzie
Western
35th/archer
Ashland
Halsted
Roosevelt (green red)
H.W library (brown purple pink red blue)
Lasalle/Van buren (brown purple pink)
Quincy (brown purple pink)
Washington/wells (purple pink brown)
Clark/lake (green blue purple brown pink)
State/lake (red green purple brown pink)
Washington/Wabash (green purple brown pink)
Adams/Wabash (green purple brown pink)
all orange line trains should have 8 car trains and run 24 hours and the yellow line should have 4 car trains

Yellow line only needs 4 cars for Cubs games, most of the time 2 cars is too much
Then they'll need to run the Brown Line 24 hours so they have a 24 hour counter-clockwise loop and would cost too much.
Yellow line trains only have 2 to 3 stations so they don’t need that much cars
Plus not a lot of people ride the yellow line
I love these videos they're so cool.

The first train was a special trip using the 6000 series cars. Unfortunatly, camcorders were pretty primitive at the time.
2024 update when, it's almost been 10 years since the first ride the rails and 5 from the 2019 update.
Watch the doors the doors are closing.
At 3:47 why is the stations in downtown so close I been in the train before but why?

In India you will see lots of people shitting on railway tracks. 😭
I remember when the 3200 series used to be on orange Line
I think the orange pink and brown lines should be circular
Nice video! At 5:27 I'm curious why the train makes a brief stop in the middle of the line? Can you please explain this strange stop? Thanks.

Or a red cab signal that usually clears within 30 seconds
Seeing that the train passed a signal shortly before, the operator more than likely got a penalty brake application from the CTC cab signalling system, likely due to passing a more restrictive signal aspect.
