Would it not have helped to have seen Bryce Young more in the preseason? Can Julian explain what we’re seeing from Bryce right now compared to what we’ve seen in the preseason? Is it possible that the Panthers staff have come to the decision that Bryce Young isn’t it after 2 weeks in the regular season? Is the decision to bench Bryce Young because the team doesn’t believe in him anymore, they’re afraid of losing the locker room, they want him to watch and learn, or something else? Could Dave Canales be TRYING to get Bryce to fail?

Adam your opening statement sucks. I love your show but this wasn't teppers call. Coach made the call because Bryce is sucking. Watch the film. Its bad reads and bad throws all over the place and hes obviously seeing ghosts. Bryce just isn't good right now.

Why was Bryce benched Lets see bad footwork, cant read cover 0, constantly checks down, looks scared in the pocket, looks like hes going to cry after every turnover, doesnt trust himself to throw the ball down the field. He needs a reset he needs to watch and learn work on footwork learn how to read defenses learn how to use cadence to keep the defense off balance.

It’s not after 2 weeks it’s after two training camps, multiple coaches, player up grades, it becomes obvious that the other teams have him figured out and he is just too small with a suspect arm.
I think you have to evaluate what is around Bryce and this is what they are going to do, after looking at how many times receivers were open that Bryce missed last game, I think Dalton balls out this Sunday and it's a big win for the Panthers. Bryce is just missing obvious open receivers.
This is such an accurate statement and I been sayin the same. We have to see if the 1 year deal guys are worth a new contract and if the rookies are good or not.

I love when tv, radio, and podcast type shows complain about one thing, and when that’s addressed they complain about that. It’s a way for them to generate content. Thats all it is. Benching Young was a no brainer
Bryce is collecting checks from the Panthers for four seasons, so it is very, very premature to proclaim he's done done done in Carolina. He's heading to the pine for now, certainly. But, much like Zach Wilson, another attempt or three will be made to rehabilitate the investment.
Because he is terrible. If they can talk the other teams into playing their 3rd strings he will be a stud. Aka Buffalo preseason drive.
If Andy Dalton throws for 300+ yards with the same offense like last year it's Bryce
I think they were passing as much as they were to get game film on Bryce to make the decision in week 2. Now that he is done, they are going to run more and let Andy make throws he can make.

lol What don’t yall understand if you are trying to win the game you can’t run the ball down 20+ points and the players were able to to check out w BY regardless of training camp and draft status and I don’t think this was a Tepper move bc his ego is to big to admit he’s wrong without major convincing from HC and GM. I actually think this might be Tepper best move since being here
I’m not a football expert by any means, nor do I claim to know more than a nfl coach…but it’s troubling if Dave needed to watch the “tape” to see how bad Bryce has been…benching bryce is not the wrong move! O line is playing decent enough for Bryce to make a damn completion over 10 yards…it’s ridiculous

The Tepper effect is in full swing. Sad to be a Panthers fan because there is no light at the end of the tunnel.
Let's go back to week 3 of last year. Bryce Young had a "mysterious" injury to which no one was able to identify on film where/when the "injury" occurred. The result was a respectable performance in Seattle by Andy Dalton (over 300 yards and zero interceptions).
I suspect that even BACK THEN coach Frank Reich was wanting to bench Bryce and let him develop from the bench.
Before that season began, Dalton himself said (during training camp) that "I can still play, there are not 32 QBs better than me". Dalton ultimately conceded to the fact that back up was the "situation" that he's in and he's willing to play that role.
Then there was the decision not to play Bryce during the preseason. Why get the team preparation time with a QB that you know (from training camp poor play) you might be benching-for-trade?
Here are my thoughts. It was probably known inside that locker room since training camp of last year that Bryce wasn't NFL-ready yet (and there were probably serious concerns that he would never be starting NFL material).
This didn't "just happen". I think the doubts and frustration with Bryce have been an on-going in-house secret that just became public.
It’s simple - Canales/Idzik had dumbed-down Sundays Game Plan and Play Calls to the most basic level for BY and he failed miserably in executing a very vanilla game plan with short timing routes and passes and he couldn’t execute them proving to them that he simply is not ready to lead the Team at this time ..

Two things can be true. Tepper is too impulsive in his decisions as owner AND Bryce doesn’t look like he can play NFL football.

Why would any HC do that with a QB who needs all the real-time environment he can get??? Made no sense .
Has the coaching carousel begun in Carolina yet again? Could be the end of the road for Canales (editing for misspelling) after sitting Young for the sloppy play the last two games if Andy Dalton is a bust. The only hope for the fans of the Carolina fans is for Tepper to leave Charlotte and take his BS with him!

I am sorry that you want to blame Tepper. The facts speak for themselves. Each of your name QBs were not playing well. Each were being coached up, but failing big time. Why is it so wrong to want to try something else to see if our new players Johnson, Leggett, Mingo, Tremble, as well as TEs and backs can do. Brice was completely lost. Poor footwork, poor reads. We saw Bryce Young start 15 NFl games last year and 3 this season. The guy is too short and frail. He is hot trash including the Panthers owner. Time to move on from both.

Someone please help me here. The Panthers are caughting flack for sitting BY down, stating the organization is horrible & the overall problem. Are they watching these games, I wish the best for BY but he's not ready, in fact I'm not sure he ever will be.
