Everything you touch turns to beautiful art. It’s almost magical. Going through your journal is like going to an art museum. Each page is like a painting that you can’t help but admire every stroke and every nuisance. Thanks for brightening my day 🤗❤️
Oh my goodness, absolutely gorgeous!!! Love how this turned out! I really love how the layering of the tea bags turned out and the gold brushed on some! I’d say perfect!!!
I just love him and the whole card. When you went to that page, my eyes immediately went to him. I’m pretty sure I saw him when I was in Africa. I saw some really cool birds there. Thank you for speaking about him. We are losing so many animals, birds and all the little critters too. They are all losing there habitat and I don’t think your average person knows how bad. There are more tigers in captivity than in the wild. We have lost 90 % of lions and elephants and there are so many animals more worse off then that so thank you for sharing this fine feathered beauty with us. He’s quite a handsome dude
I’m so glad you kept the original background colors, I liked them so much and they looked great behind the bird. Thank you for the reminder that simple recycle materials make good art!
Beautiful card. I like how you can still see through to the packaging on the front and also the back. It is always a lovely treat to see inside the Dephemerember journal.
Hello Barbara, such a lovely tag. It is so sad to think of the amount of animals and birds that are facing extinction. I think the human race has a lot to be ashamed of, it is after all, our greed(in some cases - deforesting their habitat etc) ANYHOOOOO, we Journallers do our bit by using all the "junk" we can lay our hands on. Blessings and hugs from Cape Town. Diana 😀🤗🦊🦊
The Shoebill has always been one of my favourite birds, they look so prehistoric! Like you Barbara I never can plan, 1 step takes me to the next & so on. Loved this make, thank you. 💜
The magnetic closure is so inspired, Barbara! I would never have come up with that. So many possibilities. Thanks so much. And your packaging ephemera art piece is so gorgeous. Love your channel!
I absolutely love your piece using packaging! Apparently that bird makes a really interesting sound as well, the bird species is so fascinating and diverse! Every little touch just enhanced his environment, especially the gold!💕🇨🇦
Shoebills are my favorite bird. Love how the card turned out. I also love that you showed how to use it in a journal. I’m often afraid to commit ephemera to my pages. This video helped a lot.
Hi Barbara what a neat piece of trash😅😊 I love it. I have always like that bird. I love to bird watch in my back yard. He is a special bird for sure. You’ll remember that story every time you look at that picture. A great video again as always. Hugs❤
Just beautiful! Thank you for introducing me to the Schuhschnabel. What a sweetheart he is.💗 So much of our natural world is in danger by the greed of 'man'. I pray he stays safe and protected. I really enjoy your videos, Barbara. You are so sweet and have a lovely, calming effect on me. You are such a joy.💖 Plus, I often learn a lot from you...even if it's what NOT to do.😉lol! Much love and many blessings, Tracy from California US.💙💙💙
I have several packages like that .I will use tea bags on them and a bit of texture paste. I like your tag, wow with the golden touch! The bird is awesome with his wide beak! Those stenciled leaves work well in many of your projects.😊😊❤
I'm definitely inspired! Both by Mr Shoebill, and the use of treasured trash. I'm slowly building up my tea bag stash, and can't wait to get started! 😊
Love your choice for the bird !!! And love to keep little bits of Tom Holtz packaging too !!!( so difficult to find in France ! ) have a nice evening 🌛
I'm picky about the birds I choose to use. This one is gorgeous. You gave him a good home. Like how you did the packaging, and left the back original. The attachment was brilliant.
Hi Barbara,i Hope you are well, the story of this bird it's so sad 😥... It's a good Idea to create this card for him in your junk journal... I m so fan of the result and i keep the spine of Book thanks to you it's beautiful texture on a creation... Take care of you Big kiss 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Laetitia
Barbara, I had to stop the video to say--I thought I might have collected too many teabags at this time, but when I saw your box of tea goodness, I realized that I don't have enough. Back to the video...
I love the way this turned out (I think I start all my comments to you this way! Lol). This bird is so interesting. I’ve never heard of it before. It reminds me that there are so many species out there that I’ve never heard of before that will become extinct and I will have missed out on knowing about it. This guy got a beautiful place to be highlighted from. Anyone who sees this episode will learn about him and see his beautiful tag. I always love the gold or any metallic medium to bring sparkle to a page. Luises Journal is an amazing place for it to end up. Well done!♥️♥️♥️
I never heard of this bird before, thank you so much for the info on it :) The card came out beautifully and you are such an inspiration for me, thank you for the video ❤️💕
Your card is beautiful and your bird - I have named him Bill - is very handsome. I'm sad to hear of his plight - maybe this gentleman who did the film can somehow rescue his kind and save them from us humans and stampeding cattle. Fascinating story! Love you bunches, baby girl, MomK ❤️🤗🌵🤗❤️
Thank you Barbara, I love, love, love this card. And I love your story telling. If you are not in journal making you can use him as a greeting card. He is so beautiful. Greets Simone
Came home after visiting family 900 km away and you answered a question I had. I’m in Queensland Australia and I had a lovely meal in a Cafe called St. Shoebill and of course I was curious as to the origins of the name. Now someone in Austria with a connection to Nth Africa has answered my question. Small world. Thanks Barbara.👍🌏
Such a beautiful card with packaging. I definitely have a few 😆. Love your teabag background. Sometimes I struggle to use my tea bags. Shoebills are such beautiful prehistoric looking birds.
This was a treat to see you great a beautiful ephemera for the Shoebill crane. You found a perfect spot for the him. Amazing, how you find solutions to complete your masterpieces. Awesome. Love it❣️
Barbara: love the story, love the page. Packaging is always so exciting to have. When you buy the items, I always think of the extra bonus the packaging brings. Carol from California
Absolutely gorgeous Barbara! I’m now looking for rusty bits, I think I’ll raid my biker partner’s garage, there’s lots in there! He calls them bikes!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Hi Barbara. I absolutely love to make ephemera pieces from my collection of tags, packaging backing, and what not. For some reason they turn out so much better than just a regular piece of card stock covered in a digital. Love your beautiful creation. ❤
Saving book spines? Never thought of that. Your so clever Barbara.. I love this project.. I'm a newbie. I only have 2 junk journals done.. I have lots of ephemera waiting to be used. LOL Please take care and be safe Mary Suzanne from British Columbia Canada
I love using things that would normally be thrown away. Lol yes I've got those 🙊. That book is a gold mine for images! Woah that's one huge bird 🐦. Bit scary looking like a raptor 🙈. I've been saving my dark grey bags 😋. Those book spines make great ground/wood. Yay 🙌great stencilling😁. Oh yes, some things are super satisfying to cut 🙊. The gold looks gorgeous 😍 it's hard to stop 😄. 😄 aww magnets in love 💘. Absolutely fabulous and lets hope the gentle giants prevail! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
Love seeing how your style has changed ❤. Thank you for reminding us about all the free things we can use. I was at a wedding shower over the weekend and I saved 7 or so cupcake collars 😆, they will make great pockets, tuck spots and collage fodder
this came out lovely Barbara and i will pop over to refresh my memory on the other video - you are such a pleasure to watch and always inspiring - thank you xx
When I prepare my tea bags for crafting, I squeeze out the liquid like you did and also hang them up, but I take them apart differently which gives me 4 different reusable parts: the tag, string, flat paper, *and seam*. I use a staple remover/puller (a clip-like tool for removing staples), unfold the ends, empty the tea (saved to dye with), and then I take hold of the seam, and tear it off in one go. It actually takes less time to do these steps than to try to tease the paper out of the staple and open the seam. Very little of the tea bag gets wasted. (sometimes the staple puller ends up tearing the bag anyway). I really love how your card turned out! I wonder if that Dutch-made gold wax paste is sold in the US? I'll have to check.
Everything you touch turns to beautiful art. It’s almost magical. Going through your journal is like going to an art museum. Each page is like a painting that you can’t help but admire every stroke and every nuisance. Thanks for brightening my day 🤗❤️
Wow, thank you! ❤️
Ditto! Couldn’t have said it better myself! ❤
You make it look so easy and effortless. Love the way it looks!

This turned out wonderful. Very interesting story about the bird. And he is so lovely. 😕. There are so many things in danger aren’t they?
