In Europe the labels must show nutritional value per 100 grams. That way there's really no point in trying to cheat with serving sizes, and you can compare foods easily.

I thought it was per 100grams everywhere in the world? most imported products have per 100 gram here in the Netherlands as well. I think its only the USA that has this
It is the same in Mexico, the greatest and most convenient way to compare foods’ nutrition labels

If you have chips with a meal you'll probably have a few, but if you are having chips AS a meal you might eat a bag. It might be that the FDA is not considering binge eating. Also you have to consider those individual serving bags.

like tictacs are 95% sugar. but because they're below the threshhold. they can state its 0% sugar.

Link understands why serving sizes are the way they are. Also FDA doesn’t approve labels. Companies can put whatever serving size they want, so they pick the one that makes the label look best.

The labels should always be per 100g. That's what's good in Europe because then you get an actual idea

Just quote the whole container, people are smart enough to half it if they eat half etc :)

I think it's more about companies trying to make their food look healthier on the ingredients section on the box. It makes their product look healthier when they put the sugar and sodium and all that for just a portion of the box, versus the whole thing.

A serving for chips is you set the family size bag in front of you, and you eat until you tell yourself "I've eaten a lot of this bag", then you grab a few more as you take it back to the kitchen.
Serving for me is eating the entire family bag. I’m 6’3 160 pounds so very skinny lmao

They're roughly the same. I'm from Singapore and I could guess along the serving sizes in grams in this game pretty easily.

Nobody cares about servings over here. We just do nutrition per 100 grams. That way companies can't cheat as easily.
