I have many issues in poker as a losing player and I can say everything you said is true. I said to myself since I started poker "you can't be successful in poker if your life is shit.
I do struggle with bankroll management but above all my biggest fear in poker is a big upswing. after every big upswing I keep asking myself "I am good enough to play against pro players " and that somehow really demotivates me. I think my big issue in poker is self confidence

My biggest weakness is downswings. I tend to lose money in those.

Great video! I’m halfway through the masterclass(just finished the Post-flop section) so much great information in there. Like SO much. But I’m grinding through it and I understand the game so much better already. Thanks for doing such a great job!

These advices are so valuable on and off the poker table. Even for people who don't know the rules of the game. It is sad indeed that so many of them won't listen, and won't make the effort to get good sleep, eat well, workout, keep the discipline. Instead they will keep complaining of how life is fucked up giving 1000s of examples and excuses. If someone shares experience on how to convince your closest relatives and friends to start doing these couple of things, it will be much appreciated.
    P. S. as usual Ben is talking for free words worth thousands of $. Much respect!

I really like the point, if you catch yourself "slacking", don't worry, think about it for a minute, and then try continue on your path. We will all struggle and have our bad days, even bencb. To aspire to have his work ethic doesn't mean to be perfect, but to get up after a bad day and continue. For me, this is true inspiration!

The most expensive mistakes happen on the FT very late at night in a casino, when drunk and/or overly tired.. Couple of times I zoned out and didn't notice the action before me ..

This is so valueable its insane ! Thank you Ben for being such a grounded person and these advices as you say are not just for poker, but life in general. This is what everyone needs to learn, to be your best at whatever you do in life, you need a solid base of sleep, food, exercise and ofc some kind of friendship/love. THIS is what people need to start focusing on and skip all "selfhelp" courses that only drains your wallet and sanity. Take care of youself and dont forget to be nice to youself, its not easy to start but i know you have it in you to take your life to a better and healthier place ❤

I've studied a little with actual content, but my way of learning is by writing down spots I do and I ask why I did it? (what was I trying to achieve) and does it work? And I just repeat and rinse, my other process is I try to balance my whole play style vs the majority of the field and knowing were I can adjust in spots vs certain players types, it works for me because I win and its practical, I believe most players try and memorise and get thier heads too far into content they don't understand or know how to implement.

You are 100% right i have been a complete degen garbage bankroll management. I used to be able to afford to be a degen but it cost me it all. No sleep never had good people around me. I never reviewed my plays or habbits. Now only until i bust i finally have time to review my habbits. But vs an abyss the only way up is a solid foundation that slowly grows on itself i know this but denied it for years. The worst is when you can play those EV situations that woulda made alot of money +3-10k just because of getting to scarred for needing the money. I feel like i have to make a bankroll now and play within the stakes im supposed to because i can bluff when appropriate call bluffs and not be to outside of propper Poker playing. And yes sleep is important negreanu started to treat poker like a job hrs in clock out and i see the light now. You only pay optimally for so long so just clock in and out because poker is a lifelong game i have a hole to climb out of that i considered my tuition but that tuition has cost me an est 300k... lol im sick of learning i just want to be profitable from now on 😂😂

And also I believe many people don't succeed in life or poker because they are not autodidact, most of the people need other people to push them from behind that's why so many ppl buy courses and still are not able to do anything with their future. As own experience I believe we should surrender ourselves with ppl like us and try to make our goal come true together. Just imagine if 10 poker players work together to improve their game and not alone

Run pure is the only thing that is going to win you MTT's. If you run bad, you will never win. I've won over 100 MTT's online. The only time you win is when you're running extremely good. And I'm not just talking about preflop all in or getting good hands. Board textures have to be good. Runout in your ranges favor. So many things have to align just to make it deep. Most of the time you don't have the best hand. When you follow the preflop ranges, you're going to have a lot wider range than your opponents. Being good at the game is very easy. Making the right decisions is easy. I play $20abi, nobody knows anything. No regs. I should crush for 150% ROI, but I don't, and I never will. Thats how strong variance is. Barely winning over 20k samples is a huge accomplishment in this game. Even the best can't make a living off the game, so they teach it.
