My favorite things to do opening sequence of "Good Day New York" is hit the alarm clock, newspaper stacking, taking a shower before get dressed, toasters popping, car driving by, ride bikes, and the traffic jam.
This year marks two anniversaries. The 50th Anniversary of the phase 'It's 10PM, Do You Know Where Your Children Are' and also the 50th Anniversary of 'The Ten O'Clock News' franchise which also began on Channel 5 in New York in 1967
Indeed; Maury Povich started out as a news anchor, first in Washington, DC at WTTG, then at WNYW in New York (WTTG's sister station, both owned by Metromedia, then Fox) before moving on to "A Current Affair" in 1990, then his own syndicated talk show a year later.
Yes, Miss Jennifer Banks! Before he became a daytime talk show host, Maury Povich was an anchor at WNYW! In fact, he co-anchored the 7pm newscast, while he hosted A Current Affair!
With all that money Fox is now gonna get by selling most of their assets to Disney, they should finally have enough to actually re-invest into their O&Os like ours in NY, which they have used the same old news set and music package since, I dunno, like '05? lol
WNYW, the flagship station of the Fox Television Network in New York, NY, is owned by Fox Television Stations LLC. WNYW is the sister station to MyNetworkTV flagship station WWOR in Secaucus NJ, YES Network and Fox O&O station WXTF in Philadelphia, PA.
I feel like the It's 10 PM, do you know where your children are? thing is such a bitch move. Slap in the face. First, there are parents who don't know where their children are...because they're missing. Secondly, I think if any parent is sitting at home, at 10pm and has no idea where their children are, unphased, the last thing that will wake them up is that saying. Like, "Oh wait, where is John?! I just remembered he was out somewhere!"
This was New York's true superstation, and while WWOR may not have been a superstation, I'm more willing to say UPN was a superstation before dumb nothing-like-Warner-Bros. WPIX. WPIX (for at least 1 half of its viewers) was one of those networks people saw because there was nothing else on TV. But when channel options started emerging (UPN, Fox), UPN 9 clearly outdid the WB 11 every year of its existence. Even if being black nothing to do with WPIX, WWOR will be considered a black superstation before WPIX.
wnyw you want to add new viewers via dish networks superstation customers who receive wwor but no news I say it calls for a 10pm news rebrand titled my 10pm on news on fox 5 and my9 for a while wwor in jersey was running a rebrand of their news calling it TH(E) 10 Oclock news as opposed to my 9 and only running it for 30 minutes reasons behind the rebrand was a jersey watch dog group complained about 11pm news on 9 not covering new jersey news
Yeah I think it sucks that in Jacksonville, FL Gannett/Tegna owns NBC12/ABC25 airs news on both stations. I wish they would have never sold ABC25 to them...I find that very small market doing that...This is NYC the #1 television market, and FOX 5 should of brought on WWOR 9 people but didn't.
recently in charlotte, north Carolina fox took over wjzy formerly acw affiliate when cw switch to wccb after 25 years as a fox affiliate.fox wanted a state of the art newscast,it got their newscast from wbtv a cbs affiliate.

The music in the first two opens is the funkiest news theme I ever heard.
Shhhheeeeit! I used to dance to that when it came on! Then I'd turn to another station!
I love the Good Day NY theme from '96-'99.
Omggggg me too it was sooo sexy !!!
@@vinniemystery563 I remember waking up to it and getting my school day started because the theme combines rock-and-roll with jazz and club music.
I absolutely love the 'Power Funk' instrumental from 3:24 to 3:44. I feel it should've been kept as a permanent Fox 5 opening theme. I am just saying.
"It's 10 o'clock do you know where your children are?"
@@jamesmcfear6534 OMG, I SO remember that line!
My favorite slogans of Fox 5 News are: "What New Yorkers Watch" and "The Most Powerful Name in Local News".
3:47 classic early-mid 90s open
"It's 10pm! Do you know where your children are?!" That's the question New Yorkers have asked for many years, thanks to FOX 5!
"It's 10 p.m., do you know where your children are?"
zyber9 that always annoys me when I was little until now they’re still using that
I told you last night, no! Where is Bart anyway, his dinner is getting cold and eaten.

Rest in Peace, Bill McCreary.
There are 7 things to do every morning during "Good Day New York" opening sequence.
