I agree, not a patch on their earlier versions. But Lester does managed to work the old magic. Trivia info, I believe 'Frank' is Fad Gadget. I saw the Set play many times in the 79-81, great live band, very tight. Stopped listening to them after 'Love Zombies'.
I agree with the single version but beg to differ on Bid's looks - what is it that drives a guy that was the pinnacle of cool in his 20s and 30s to turn into someone wearing tight leather pants and a top from agent provocateur when pushing 40 (well today he's close to 50)???
The Kid, too ... watched them a couple of times ... once with Swell Maps ... which was an odd experience ... Bits of 'Eligible Bachelors' are ... actually ... quite good ... ditto moments on 'The Lost Weekend' ... otherwise ... nothing to ... write home ... about ...
Only saw these live once age 14 in 1979 supporting Adam & the Ants at London Lyceum didn't like them them(14 year old punk) didn't give them another chance shame bits I've heard since I like
Lester Square is my art teacher!!!! (Well, I never even knew he was called Lester, he;s known to us as Mr. Hardy)
Great to see Biddy! He lent me that Jaguar when I made "Pagan Easter" and did some BVs too... good man!!
What is Pagan easter and BV please?
Still like them as much as I did in '79. Which is mucho.
fantastic band
This was the last time I saw them, rather weird experience, but great show. Good to see them back.
Bid looks as if he is stoned in this clip, and his voice cracks near the end. Lester is what makes this piece what it is! Thank goodness for Lester.
I prefer the single version of the song, but Bid looks gorgeous in this incarnation!
Bid was born in 1958 so this Nottingham concert at Central East TV studio's makes him about 33. I like his look he carries it off well.
Bid looks cool as fuck!
wow. they really changed their appearance! What a mindfuck. looks like getty lee!
still like it 2 years later. great

this is great music. music is sound. who cares what they wears, listen to the sound
Isn't it Borat with that cowboy hat and white shirt? :D
Can someone test the lead singer for a pulse ?
You could all "fashionistas" concentrate in Monochrome Set's music..it's a music video...not a catwalk...
Great, still
C'mon now, people, do not judge a man by his hair!! This sounds pretty damn tight, I should say..sounds quite like the old TMS..
love the fat boy slim feat. iggy pop cover
does it justice

Such an underated band..I put them withth Lou Reed Bowie and thr Talking Heads
Yup, gotta say, he looks good here. Tho he doen't sound as good as he has in past. Guitar & drums great!
Only saw these live once age 14 in 1979 supporting Adam & the Ants at London Lyceum didn't like them them(14 year old punk) didn't give them another chance shame bits I've heard since I like
Bid looks like Izumi Mori,a japanese fashion model girl. Wow!
Who fucking cares how they look? Sublime, many thanks
Trevor Reidy
now ... don't get the Kid wrong ... the MS were a ... great band ... but that's ... a lousy version ... of a FANTASTIC tune ...
Free will!!!
Я здесь самый свежий...
Hilarious! Even a pseudo-American accented aside!
Iggy Pop cover is cool as well
three guitarists? ok for Lynrrd Whatsit.... but not for our Monochrome Set surely
Orson mostly played keyboards.
These guys are good but they've got zero stage charisma.
Only in this clip /performance. They actually had a lot of stage charisma and cool and now have a lot of natural warmth
