Hello, after years of using many iwata neo air brush, I purchased a badger patriot 105 .5mm. It will arrive tomorrow just in time to finish my project. I hope it is better than the neo!

Steve, on this one, I just bought the badger 105 from yourself, it's on its way, what needle comes with the air brush as standard?

I initally had the 0.5 setup. I bought a 0.3 conversion kit, which came in 3 pieces:
The needle, tip, and regulator. The regulator, as far as I know, has to match the needle size. Am I correct?

There are 4 parts to the 41-044 0.3 conversion kit for the Patriot 105 see video ruclips.net/video/iDUUPYGaM-Q/видео.html , it is the tip not the needle that a airbrush set up size is taken from, all the parts have to be the same size or the airbrush will not work correctly, so yes you are correct

Since the needle pokes out, what's the best method to back filling when cleaning, mixing paint with thinner and preventing jams? Can I use the Rubber Needle cover, hold it in place so it doesn't go flying out and then back fill?

I Don't agree / teach back flushing as it can create more problems than it solves, unless you are an experienced air brusher,

I'm needing assistance with my badger 105. I have cleaned it out 3 times. New needle and tip, nothing in it as far as I can see and it won't flow. When I assemble it air flows fine. But cleaner and paint immediately bubble similar to a back flow
