Personal top 5 (and once I got into less repetitive segment/city tracks it was hard to go back to repetitive base tracks) not in order: -Mt Wario -3DS RR -Squeaky Clean Sprint -Singapore Speedway -tie between Wii RR and Sweet Sweet Canyon (I know, it's my guilty pleasure track but for a short track it's got my fav theming but u get antigravity/underwater/gliding and the donut shortcut/split paths etc
Good picks by the community. Pleasantly surprised to see BC3 make the cut. (The track plays very tightly and has interesting path options that make every race feel dynamic. The concave curve of the whole course is great for visibility, lending itself nicely to sniping.) Completely agree with you about Mount Wario's 3rd section not living up to the outstanding earlier parts-but it's still an excellent track. I could easily see Coconut Mall and Yoshi's Island placed among the favorites also, but I don't know where they ended up.
I think it’s great that BC3 got here, despite the fact that not many people call it their absolute number 1 pretty much everyone likes it, there’s pretty much nothing wrong with it. I can’t disagree.
As someone who got into Mario Kart just last Feb (and have no idea as to anything about the previous installments or Mario lore), Wii Rainbow Road is a combination of fitting music (likely the nostalgic chord progression or something) and adventurous track (since it's quite long). It doesn't need the "Wii nostalgia" pull to be amazing. Though similarly with others, I'm surprised seeing Maple Treeway and Bowser's Castle. My overall fave is Skibidi Toilet (IYKYK), though I kinda suck at the track lol
4:55 Wow I didn't expect to see myself in here! I think what I meant with that comment is: Wii Rainbow Road has a lot of elements that take skill to get right. It is really punishing if you are bad at the game, but once you understand it the track feels amazing to play. Maybe advanced techniques isn't the right way to say it - even if it isn't that hard or deep, it makes you feel like you are constantly doing something difficult. I wonder if I would feel this way after grinding the game a lot more, and learning all of the actually advanced tech the game has to offer. I consider myself pretty decent at the game, but nowhere near your skill level. Maybe some of the appeal is lost when the track doesn't feel advanced in the first place. That being said, nostalgia is definitely a big factor here since MKWii was one of the first console games I ever played.
They also put a bunch of fan service into this track. Most of the shortcuts are still possible, along with new ones (they even showed it off first thing in the trailer), and the burning up animation when falling off the edge was also kept from wii. That all paired with all the super mario galaxy references.
Agree cuz it's fun w good visual But too fast and unoriginal it's basically boo lake but the day and fire version of the night and water in boo lake, another short track
I also would put Big Blue and Mount Wario in my Top 5. My 2 favorites are Electrodrome and Ninja Hideaway, mostly from aesthetics, music, and track design.
Ok I know Wii RR is overrated, but I still absolutely love the track. SNES BC 3 isn’t as fun but I can understand it. Maple Treeway is iconic and extremely understandable. Big Blue is Big Blue. Need I say more. Mount Wario is a little overrated but still extremely fun. Overall, the one thing the internet got right.
I feel like if there's one thing that makes Maple Treeway stand out, its that its a universally loved MkWii track. For the sake of context, the sheer amount of MkWii tracks in the BCP(8 in total across all 6 waves, the only game to have more tracks included than BCP waves overall) is a very divisive topic online, with very active amounts of vitriol towards a lot of their tracks, from Mushroom Gorge, to DK Summit, to Koopa Cape. However, Maple Treeway? Almost nobody hates it. Not even the most hardcore anti-MkWii people have the capacity to say anything bad about it, that's the kind of unifying power it has. I feel like what makes Bowser Castle 3 stand out to a lot of people is Mario Circuit 3, the only other SNES course in the BCP. Because Mario Circuit 3 wasn't re-imagined in any way from its MKWii iteration, that left a lot of people feeling unfulfilled by it. So when Bowser Castle 3, another SNES track, comes along, with this WILD glow-up of a transformation, it makes sense that it'd knock people's socks off.
Did the polll specify what CC? Cuz they courses wre made to be played at 150, id rather oksyer better racers on 150 or olay 200 on courses specifically desigbed for it (sonething i think we'll get next tine hopefully)
My gripe with Wii Rainbow Road boils down to it being all anti grav when it didnt need to be, making it way longer than it should cause anti grav is slower than normal speed. But despite that, music is a banger and is retained from Wii... but most importantly it got the graphic overhaul most tracks in wave 6 got and it looks absolutely gorgeous, way better than in Wii. It feels like a brand new track. Yea the track itself is linear and pretty easy, but on the flipside the shortcuts are easy but gives good gratification to new players who take the time to learn it. In a way it feels like its a track redesigned for everyone to have fun in, whereas in Wii it could feel very punishing. Now feel free to include this in your final vid if you want cause I did a way better job giving an explanation here than what I actually submitted for my #1 answer... granted Wii RR is my #2 so id take it.
Tbf, the fact that 3ds rr and yoshi's island aren't even here shows how good and massive this game's track selection is. Why I always felt like MW was a bit overrated (I mean I can't name how many times I wanted to ragequit over the tree section, likely a skill issue lmfao) I am so glad about bc3 in particular being here
I skipped MKWii since i was in college at the time, and i never understood the hype, until i played it in MK8D, and now the track is one of my most consistent tracks, and i love it, I think this track is liked because it is one of the only tracks in which you can play conservately and will perform well, i mean, just take one of the shortcuts, and you will place in the top 3 most of the times, but it also rewards risk taking, if you succeed in taking all the shortcuts you will front run it and nobody will reach you. And the people that played in between will not be rewarded at all. So this track is an all or nothing or just play it safe.
I fully agree with Mt. Wario and Wii Rainbow Road being in the top 5. I include Wild Woods and my personal favorite Dolphin Shoals. There are a lot of tracks that could fill in the 5 spot.
wii rainbow road is just fun to drive and even though there's not many shortcuts there's always plenty of time for a comeback. i don't have it as my favorite track but it's a top 3 track in the game for me behind 3ds rainbow road and big blue with big blue being my favorite
Never played Mario Kart Wii myself, but even I like Wii Rainbow Road. Maybe not my favourite, but certainly a good and fun track. I don't get the appeal of Mount Wario though, so that's my weird opinion of the day. 😄
Honestly I'm surprised BC3 is here because NO ONE picks it online. And I agree on Wii Rainbow, that track has very little in the way of tech, has annoying pacelocks on the wavy section, and a cointoss strat on the turn after the cannon (not to mention the right drift from cannon landing sometimes just fails for no reason). Online races there are also very stale, very little you can do to affect the big picture after half a lap. Unless there's 4 blues I guess.
@@NathanCraft90 i love the turning sections, and back then the tracks were mostly flat so having a track that tilts like that on the turns was really fun, it was also really creative, but yeah that long ass straight section then the 90° turns on the finish line are boring af
I argue that DK Snowboard Cross should have made it in. It's got a good music track, some semi-tricky shortcuts, and the coolest part of the track being the half-pipe section with the Shy-Guys at the end.
Grew up playing MK64, never played MK Wii, nostalgia isn’t a factor for me, yet I do have Wii RR in my top 10, perhaps even top 5 🤷♂ Music and visuals are outstanding, and the gameplay is fun. (Also think 3DS RR is better though)

The BCP getting 3 of the spots is tragic. Not that every track in it is bad, but it is clearly the lazier half of tracks and was way more of a money grab than anything via nostalgia baiting. They’re basically all the same layout as Tour or the game from which they’re taken, and when I go from a beautiful base game track to the puke of a BCP track it gives me a headache. Looks like two different games because it basically is.
None of these tracks are in my S or S+ (aka best 3) Bc3 is F TIER for me, it feels way to open for a Bowser's (here bowsers) castle track, it doesn't look that good and the shortcuts aren't good
@@Daymare19 imo it does, it’s just the fact that most people’s justification for the track is “it was a big improvement from snes” like obviously it’s not that difficult to improve a track from the snes. also it’s just a bad shade of orange ick

I would take bowsers castle 3 off the list & add Yoshi's Island. I think 1 thing that helped it make the list was the hype of it being a newer track in the game.
What happened to 3DS Rainbow Road? Incredible music, beautiful graphics, awesome gameplay: other than the no comeback potential (or anything else anyone can argue), I'm surprised it wasn't here.
No way y’all really prefer maple treeway. Wild Woods looks absolutely gorgeous even for the base game’s huge standard. Not to mention, the layout definitions takes more advantage of being in a tree
The only one of these 5 that made my top 5 is Maple Treeway, which came in at #2. Now I'll admit I have a Wiggler bias, as there's no other way to explain DS Mario Circuit at #4 on my list when it would probably be in the bottom 10-20 courses without the adorable sleepyhead. 😆 Yeah, I pretty much gave away that Madrid Drive is either #1 or #3, so the only real intrigue left on my list is which non-Wiggler courses made the cut. Ninja Hideaway's at #5, and with Yoshi Valley being the remaining course on my top 5, that puts Madrid at #3 with Yoshi Valley claiming the crown. 👑❤ As for the courses in the video, I don't have anything against any of them. They're just not even close to the order in which I would have individually ranked them. Well... except for Big Blue at #5 out of these 5 (including Maple Treeway). That cannon item set is too broken to enjoy the first half of the final segment. As for the other 4 courses (again, including Maple Treeway), they're in the inverse order when compared to how I would have ranked them. Mount Wario being a sectioned course worked against it here, though it's amazing for a course that doesn't have the same line for the start and end of a lap. I have the same "old man" vibe as Bayesic, so my nostalgia courses are the ones from the SNES and N64 (which explains why I like Bowser Castle 3 better than Wii Rainbow Road).
