You guy's are genius, 3 minutes into the video and I learned how to fold a earth filled bag for free. Other channels recommended stapling ends, zip ties and stitching bag ends..
I’ll probably never do this in my lifetime but I’m impressed with the hard work you’ve put into your home and your video’s are informative and your narration is nice and clear. Beautiful work!
Did you use treated timber for lintels and fixing plates? Especially the outer part of the lintel, which perhaps could become damp. Or maybe you have termites?
@@markthomasson5077 we treated the eucalyptus beams with a mixture of old engine oil and diesel and injected the inside of the wood with the woodworm treatment :)
I’m in the sand belt in Melbourne and have about 10 metres of free sand I’d happily deliver to someone doing this around the Chelsie area , could even fill the bags if they supplied them.
I've been filling my bags all the way to the top instead of half way. Adding water to the earth before filling will make for a very hard surface after tamping
Just started watching a couple episodes. I gotta ask, is the motto "We don't need no stinking permits" ? If you are building "legal" I know we'd love to hear more about that part of it, i.e. inspections, code issues, etc.
That’s going to depend on your specific area and their attitude toward building with more natural methods.. it would be very difficult for me to advise on that as my knowledge is limited to the south of Portugal, where there is no building code for earth bag building. it wouldn’t be right for us to encourage or advocate for flouting the laws and regulations where you are.
Do the type of bags you used have a special name to have the corners tucked in like that? My only option is to buy online and I can only find ones that look like the bags have daggy corners

Happy we could help 🤗

That’s very kind of you to say, thank you!
I could not agree more, she is so clear and takes care to explain everything well.
Amazing that you achieved so much in six months

Exactly the really wet bags turned out to be rock solid!
Thanks so much!
I've always loved earth bag houses. There are so many benefits to an earth bag house. Your home is lovely.
Thank you!
Good info, very clear! 🌀💚🌀
