Everyone says this device has the hardest workflow even over the polyend tracker mine comes today exited for a challenge but I hear once it clicks with ya you can make music super fast 💨
I'd heard that too, but I read thought the manual and watched some videos on it while I waited for it to arrive and it really helped. Button combos took a couple of days to get down, and then it was off to the races. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the learning curve wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Hopefully that puts you at ease :) In terms of actual workflow I'd say it's lightning fast! Although I've never used one, I feel like the octotrack seems like a more difficult device to learn.
Why am I unsurprised that your first track was an absolute banger? Can't wait to see what you do with it! Might be trying out the M8 Headless on my steam Deck soon, quite inspiring!
Haha thanks so much! For what it's worth, I've made a few duds since making this one, but I think im onto a winner with my latest effort. Will have to see. I hear headless works great on steam deck! Let me know how you go with it :)
@@RSKT_music Hah! That's how it goes! I've had the OP-1 about two years and to this day the very first thing I made on it within 20m of taking it out of the box remains my favorite thing I've made on it haha Will do! I don't do a lot of vids but might make one on that since there aren't many
Thanks so much! I just exported the entire track (not stems) with the limiter turned off). I then added some subtle parallel compression, saturation, and EQ to boost the lows, drop the mids, and boos the highs slightly before throwing a limiter onto the end of it. It's a small mixing chain I do on all of my tracks, but if I'm being honest it really doesn't sound that far off of what the M8's output was. This thing sounds incredible! One thing I will say is that due to the 8 track limitation (and the fact that I had more than 8 "scenes" so to speak), I did a lot of volume mixing in the effects tab of the chains themselves. Gave me a bit more control that just using the volume mixer on the mixer page :)
@@jasonnicholas4336 Cheers! Samples include the kick, snare, hihat, riser, and the synth sound providing the main riff (the one you hear near the start that sounds like a guitar). All of the samples came from my sample pack. Everything else was synthesized, including the glitchy melody, drone, FM bells during the intro and bridge, and main acid synth line.
a new era begins
Haha, old era's not over yet. Still more Deluge and AEM content to churn out before this thing steals the spotlight ;)
the bass on this track is insane. great stuff!! welcome to the tracker world 😈
Thanks so much! I really appreciate 😊

@@RSKT_music nice 👍 kinda what I was hoping to hear 👂
Interesting ! I never heard someone say that ! :o Its very simple! It clics in few days or less. I hope you enjoy your M8 :P
Got mine this week too. I think ... you got a lot farther a lot faster than I did :)
Thanks man! I have faith in you! The manual is very helpful ;)

@@alexanderlane funny you say that, one of my earliest Deluge tracks remains my favourite too! Keen to see how you go with the m8 man :)
Glad you got one Rskt. Very cool first track, enjoy!
Thanks man! Was checking out some of your tracks the other day too. Love your stuff ❤️
@@RSKT_music Thanks ;) It's interesting the way the M8 steers you into different music in my opinion, I really love this machine
Amazing, you make a spreadsheet sound cool! 😂
Haha thanks man! Took some getting used to but it's a lot of fun once the muscle memory kicks in.
Geat work, mate! Look forward to more m8 content 😊
Thanks so much man! More to come for sure :)
trackers........ ooooh.... wait what was I doing again?
They're pretty fun! This is my first tracker and it's really helped shake up my workflow so far. Loving it :)
@@RSKT_music trackers are all i use, sunvox in particular. DAWs scare me with the awful workflow.
Uh........dang! What was your process for finishing that off the M8 itself? It sounds like a well mastered track.

Impressive. Also what was the balance of synthesis and sampling in that track?@@RSKT_music
