I have the ODM DNA 9’ rod as a Christmas present. Came with a slightly bent guide, but nothing to cry about. What a great rod, throws 3 oz plugs with ease and 1 1/2 oz bucktails with no problem. Even threw a 3 1/2 oz Danny with no problem. Fantastic rod, well worth the money.
I hope there will be more information about how the blanks are different. What makes them mid range except of fuji components. Would love to hear more about specification about blanks.
Have the ODM DNA rod in 10 ft. What a great rod have caught a 39 in red fish and a 25 lb black drum. The rod handled these fish with ease. I have it paired with a Shimano B & G 5000 a great combo.
I prefer odm over blackhole, fish the north shore of mass and use the 9 foot genesis price points a bit higher but it’s caught anything from albies to 45 inch bass.. just got my jigster last week #odmrods
HI! What is the mean distance for a surf rod casting, for example, a 2 or 2 1/2oz pencil popper or skipping lure? In Barcelona where I live, we also fish for Blues and Leerfish from the beach but, we usually use different tackle, I don't know why surf rods are not popular, I'm really interested in know more about it. Thanks for sharing your videos. Regards from the Mediterranean sea!
question i have is, does the 11" vs 9" produce that much more castong distance, I feel I have developed a very comfortable cast with 9-foot but the 11 foot feels very awkward, and I'm not sure if I can ever get accustomed to an 11-foot?
To me the biggest thing with a longer rod isn’t distance, it’s when fishing open beaches. I want a longer rod so that the line doesn’t get caught up in the waves. I used to fish a 10’ in the surf but my line would get caught up in the surf and I lost all contact with my lures. I now fish an 11’ and the problem is resolved. You can get away with fishing a 9 in calm, moderate surf for sure. It’s all about what you’re comfortable with and what is productive
Tsunami airwave and airwave elite are the best bang for your buck rods for surf fishing.

The tsunami airwave elite is also a mid range so why not put that as well
