@@nachomansandycabbage so his master plan was to feign illness and not sing at the biggest concert of his life, what they’ve worked towards for years, disappointing thousands of fans in the process, in order to gain publicity? Or…maybe he was actually sick…
It may seem funny, and no doubt it's partly done to entertain the fans under usual circumstances, but the gymnastics also increase heart rate and blood flow to the muscles. Including those in the throat. Which is good for the voice.
You know what? Massive props for doing this. Most singers playing at that level of venue would likely have cancelled/postponed the show. Good for him that he decided to go on and good for the audience for vibing with the band. Let's just hope that he gives himself time to recover. Worship.
i wont lie it did kill the vibe after it went on for a couple of songs and i could see the crowd energy dying but that being said i completely agree with the sentiment of massive props - they couldve just cancelled and didnt, an amazing night nonetheless
He started singing again a couple songs later, only missed like 3, so he probably had to puke or something and needed a bit of time for his voice to come back. More insane instance was when Chester Bennington broke his wrist live on stage and still finished the show, his wrist was just hanging there and had a bump in it during the entire show 😂 He also broke his ankle just before a show and still went on stage with a friggin scooter to support him haha... there are some really awesome artists out there that understand how much these performances mean to us.
I was there, and I can honestly say this was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I've been doing this a long time... over 30 years and I've seen a lot of bands, but never have I felt a part of something so epic. Vessel was genuinely struggling but out of 18 songs, he gave us, the fans, an opportunity to be the front man. We sang our hearts out and gave that love back and it showed because he managed to then finish the set. Pulling out Blood Sport at the end was magic. It was emotional that's all I'm gonna say....
So sad he lost his voice at their most hyped or important show this year. I saw them 1 week ago and his voice was sooo fucking amazing. Poor man. Hope he gets well soon.
Theyll play there again sometime soon I am sure. If you sell out a venue like that as quickly as they did your first time playing there, you will for sure play there again haha.
That. Was. Beautiful. I would consider this a no holds barred performance tier. I personally believe that everyone in ST has a code of conduct so to speak, when on stage. My focus here is the vessellettes. They never emote. They never "vibe". They are always stoic. And even they were there in vessel's hour of need. @@walkertexasraymond Oh, did I? And I have a whole newfound respect for Brandon Toews. Amazing host, being able to restrain himself to an unimaginable extent in order to allow for the voice filtering, on top of the whole production that went on for that video.

@@DanFisher2 And if you listen, you can hear a vocal track in the back to provide support to him live in this and many other performances. Nothing wrong with that though.
Some people would have cancelled the show. I love that sleep token decided to continue. Shows the kind of performers and people they are. Much love and respect for them. Hope Vessel feels better soon. He deserves some rest. These guys tore it up all year. They’ll be back here again soon. I’m sure of that.
I think they know, especially with Wembley, that many people traveled far for it. That there's still ritual to it that can be enjoyed. And of course, just because vessel can't perform, doesn't mean we all (that is any fan at any ritual) wouldn't appreciate and be there to witness the rest of the band and choir performing. I think he realizes the fans would rather be there whether he can sing or not and make the best of it, than cancel a show that's already started.
I was actually near where the guys from HEALTH were I heard one of them go "it's gone" just as vessels voice went, it makes me wonder if there was a problem all day, big respect to the fella for putting the performance on.
I was so confused when they made the announcement. I was like "Is this real? Is this part of the show?" You never know with them, they like to surprise. It was an unexpected, unfortunate surprise, but it made the night memorable and made us all connect in a whole new way. It was such a privilege to sing for him in his time of need and he gave us his everything in return. I only have love for Vessel, the band and the whole crew. Wembs, you live in my heart
The great thing is, this wont be the first and only they will play there. They sold it out and quickly. For venues, thats all they care about. So in the long run, I hope Vessel, while I am sure feeling a bit bummed, knows that they will for sure play there again, hell I am sure as soon as their next major tour. And getting the crowd to sing entire songs, thats something most bands cannot say theyve experienced. Sometimes even seemingly worst times are actually the best in their own way. What a way to see how much his/their fans love him and the band and their music.
Was there at the show up in the stands, the audio doesn't do the crowd justice for how much everyone belted this song out, and those following. Would also like to note, after a few songs Vessel came back on vocals for the less strenuous songs and put his heart and soul into it despite his vocal chords being buggered. You could hear the emotion in his voice as songs went by with 12000 people singing alongside him and cheering him on. Phenomenal show, no holds barred one of the best crowds i've been a part of. Can't wait to see them again in future.
Not many bands could bring their audience in as a fill in for the lead vocals and it sound so damn good... and apparently, lift the show UP above what was expected... Mad props to both the band and the fans. Hope Vessel mends with a quickness!
They handled it the best way possible. The band carried well for Vessel and the crowd was happy to sing. Vessel is champ for continuing to entertain the crowd when he was unable to sing, to not disappoint them. If I was here I wouldn't have been disappointed at all, it's sad they didn't get to hear Vessels singing, but other than that everything's still there and it works!
He even pulled through later on and sang the last few songs bless him, it really was a night to remember and one of, if not the best concert I’ve ever been to
Amazing show last night - was in awe - first timing seeing them live but thanks to ‘ii’ for putting me on the guest list - so thankful. Yes Vessel lost his voice and didn’t sing for a couple of songs - but then recovered enough to fully immerse himself and sing for the rest of the set! He is captivating to watch - I love his free dancing around the stage! EPIC experience.
Oh so he got it back towards the end then? I nust watched a Bloodsport video and he was singing and that looked like the very last song since everyone came out and took a bow
Yes - and if the manager hadn’t come out and said anything I wouldn’t have known! He sang the majority of the set apart from 2/3 songs! Bloodsport was a bonus after the encore! Vessel is ok btw!
Hell yeah, thank you for this. My friend METALBIRB was at this show all the way from Toronto, and I wanted to enjoy the same experience! Looked like an amazing show. From one Concert Video RUclipsr to another, much appreciated for this ❤
This is why they're a class above. Who else would have the crowd singing to you with so much love? I love this band, and the true fan base is fantastic!
I so wish i got to experience something like this. For a singer to have the lyrics you wrote sung back to by thousands for an entire gig must have been surreal.. I bet the crowd would have sounded epic live, I wish there was professional audio recording of the night.
This night was absolutely incredible. I overheard some people after the show complaining, but I really cannot agree. There was a community spirit and electrifying energy in that arena as people sang for Vessel for those three songs before he clawed it back with Atlantic. It really was emotional watching him singing through tears after this - he was incredible, the rest of the band were incredible in filling in the spaces, and it was one of the best experiences of my entire life. I can't imagine what he was feeling, but I have so much respect for him that he kept the show going. Absolutely skyrocketed my opinion of them.

Saw them live in San Diego. The most unreal performance ever. Luckily it was early in the tour so he was at the top of his game. Can tell you tho. This is EQUALLY as amazing.
