Once you're back in the groove of medieval gear videos, I'd really like one on the military flail. I'm having trouble finding much information at all about it, specifically how it was swung and what it's applications were.
Awesome stuff, although I had to tune down the volume during jazz (but I survived to the end!). Seems like mister Manning was a real partybeast, may his ghost keep on swinging.
The people at the end are clapping to all 4 beats. There aren't any more. There are of course more notes than beats, that might be what's confusing you
That looked like fun. I like your choice of Jazz at the end. Both connected to Benny Goodman I believe. Looked like agreat show and as someone who has been to both Gencon and Origins it looked like you had much better organization. Well done chaps!
Damn from Croatia to the USA? No wonder you were gone off for so long, wish I knew though. Made me think something might have happened to you. I don't know what I would have done without you, "you complete me"! Lol
They are now effectively banned from all swing dance events. They were sometimes a bit samey or a bit primitive, but not as bad as the current DJ police would have us believe.
Let me guess; no permit to video in the park, right? Typically not the sort of thing that you have to worry about in Toronto, unless you try to set up some sort of major production number. It might not be the best idea to stage a dance in the middle of the Yonge-Dundas pedestrian scramble, but videoing friends in Dundas Square would make anyone bat an eye. I quite like Jazz, despite not really being able to name more than a handful of songs. On the dancing issue I'll quote Alan Alda: "I can't dance, my head hurts."
In counting the number of necessary computers you forgot the smart phones each of those people likely had. And an argument could be made to also count your camera, though smart phones definitely are full fledged computers by now.
cool vid. and, for the record, i forgive you for the hiatus in your video out-put.....that said, it wouldn't have hurt you to be running around new york with a bladed weapon, i mean, what's the worst that could happen. . . . .
Wietse Hoeksel No, that's like saying heavy metal is rock and roll. Just because one spawned the other, does not make them the same. Big band was made to fill dance halls to a level that could be heard by the crowd, it features little improvisation, and doesn't focus soloing between all band members, the jazz of the era on the other hand was solo heavy, and was based on constant changes in timing and key, not very good for dancing.
Of course let's not forget the people from upstates. :-P In some parts of Brooklyn are New Yorkers. But unfortunately they are being overrun by those pretentious hipsters.
CODomingo I did actually see some hipsters on the subway to Brooklyn, so I can confirm that they are actually a thing. I din't have legs thin enough to be one.
i came for the weapons and stayed for the dancing
Same

applications being a little more specific then bash the other guy on the head with it, because we all know that one.
"...And shot."
I died XD
I had the pleasure of meeting and being instructed by Frankie back in 2001 in Montreal. He was such a fun and inspirational guy.

I love every video you upload lindy!
Lol
You can tell which one of the beds is Lloyds from all the beige shirts crawling all over it, looking for body heat.
I hope you enjoyed your visit to my home town, you are always welcome.
So, that clapping, was it to the up beat or to the down beat? I couldn't tell because the beat seemed at least twice as fast as the clapping.

The high-line park is fantastic

You seem a hell of a lot cooler, Lindy. I don't know whether i'll be able to handle it.
The other side of Lindybeige! A bit of a surprise after Diocletian in Split!
Hey! No video of YOU dancing?
A great advantage of being the one with the camera.
Damn from Croatia to the USA? No wonder you were gone off for so long, wish I knew though. Made me think something might have happened to you. I don't know what I would have done without you, "you complete me"! Lol
Looks like fun. I was wondering, what's your opinion of "neo-swing" musicians like Cherry Poppin' Daddies and Brian Setzer?
They are now effectively banned from all swing dance events. They were sometimes a bit samey or a bit primitive, but not as bad as the current DJ police would have us believe.
3:55 damn, that guy in the white-and-reddish shirt is REALLY tall.
"I ended up being detained by the police"
What was the reason? Having too much fun?
I severely regret having been unaware of this. Also as a former New Yorker, I'm sorry if the police were wrongly harassing you.

Only one minute of jazz? Awww....
Looks like you had the time of your life.:D
In counting the number of necessary computers you forgot the smart phones each of those people likely had. And an argument could be made to also count your camera, though smart phones definitely are full fledged computers by now.
Hey!! you can't show us a video of a lindyhop-event you organised and then not even let us have ONE small glimps on you dancing!!
I can understand the hate for jazz music. But this didn't sound too bad.
cool vid.

***** that would make an even better video!
:( I miss dancing
I can stand it. Any musical style that gives love to trumpets is just fine in my book, even if it features rather a lot of those filthy saxaphones.
I traveled to a place once...and stayed the majority of the time in the hotel, um YAY JAZZ
Not actually Jazz, rather Big Band. But we'll let him of this time 'eh?
Dylan Greene Big band is jazz?

Lol LindyBeige was in Harlem.
I'm a Texan. I want to see the real New Yorkers, so I can make jokes about local hicks like they do when they vacation down here (j/k) XD.
"and shot" haha
If you are still in New York City, You have to spend some time in Queens. It's where the real New Yorker lives. Manhattan is a tourist trap.
no one wants to see the real new yorkers.
"the real New Yorker" I suppose everyone that lives in upstate NY are Canadians now?
theBombbrigade The people with brooklyn accents and what not, I guess.
Of course let's not forget the people from upstates. :-P

yes but the normandy landing also had years to prepare and like 100 times more people working on it
Thulean Perspective comment in 5, 4, 3, 2, ... :D
***** Well it would beat this very un-European multikulti tour.
Anti-whites promoting non-whites dancing with White women. Sick.
*****
You go away, ant i-w hite.
Oh god, the highline. I pity thee. I'm a New Yorker, and I hate it
bindyleige
What the heck do you do for a living what ever it is you must make a very decent amount of money :)
Seeing his rant on designer clothing, I think it's more likely that he's just being frugal and saving up for trips.
Event planner is a career. I looked it up on a career list.
When you are staff on an event, you get stuff for free.
1 minute of you not talking? No, please.
