Quick reminder: specifically in the early game, dual wielding weapons is actually worse than single wielding in my opinion. I think it halves the attack power of both weapons. Just because it looks snazzy does not mean it's good. Later endgame jobs unlock skills and passives to dual wield without drawbacks, but again, that's endgame. Best combo for weapon wielding is always a weapon + a shield.
No my 2chars are same levels job/sub and weapons except main guy uses shield and the girl DWs and does about 70 dmg more(180 vs his 110) if I switch out his shield with similar DW weapon his damage goes up to match hers
I'm actually using two weapons for main character and adelle and both of them wielding diffrent weapons, because all enemies in this game have weaknesses of diffrent types of weapons, as long as you have support or healers you won't need shield for the attackers
Once you get the thief in Savalon, give it to Seth or Gloria or both. Once mastered, you can go into battle with those super strong enemies who just stand around on the map that you probably can't take down at this point. Have Seth/Gloria steal and the others heal and use lucky charm on Seth/Gloria. Don't worry about attacking. If their special attack triggers, steal is guaranteed. The rare steals are huge upgrades on equipment, and you get two of each if you use the 12th thief ability. Then escape. It's never failed for me. (At least at my level, I was also able to defeat the fairy near Hydrangea Hills and the lizard in the little beach area only accessible through the aqueducts. They're probably the two easiest.)
I've really been enjoying this. Just fought one of the chapter 1 bosses, and it was difficult in the BEST way. Feels so rewarding to grind for hours and finally get the reward of a new job.
Hearing you say that is so refreshing. I haven’t played the game yet and I don’t understand why people on Twitter and RUclips were complaining about grinding. That’s the sort of challenge I would think anyone would want smh I wish Pokémon brought that back in order to beat hard gyms
You really don't need to grind besides the first few levels until you are over 1k health about. Strategy is more important with the bosses versus what new levels will do for you
Make sure to use the forage ability a lot for small experience orbs guys! Also used it to max out potions, high potions, mini ethers , and ethers , didn’t have to buy a thing
A thing that probably a lot of people missed, the berserker asterisk holder has 2 items to steal, one is a common steal and the other is a rare steal. Level up that thief class to steal both items.
@@Bob-os6dq Since the very first game asterisk holders have had one common and one rare stealables. Heck, some FF bosses also have stealable rares. I can only think of the Genji set from Gilgamesh off the top of my head. Bottom line is, in an RPG, you want to steal everything.
Not really necessary, but I liked the Forage ability early game to get some extra recovery items to use. I would have all 4 characters forage x4 when there was only a few enemies, and the 5th guy with your group just kills 1 enemy each turn so you could get 16 items a round of various mats and recovery items. Then you can choose whether you want to keep them or sell them later. Also keeping battle speed up and doing repeat actions with the Y button (i think it was), you could forage like none other haha. At least with that first companion since he revives/heals/1 hit KO most monsters... it makes it very easy to just ignore fights and gather.
Don't forget once you get beastmaster to catch as many creatures as you can. Early on, I recommend getting the Aqua Elemental, as it has a skill called Gravity that is very helpful. Also max out it's level as fast as you can so you can get creature comforts which says you get a stat boost for every enemy you capture.
To be honest, JP up and up up isnt that useful once you hit CH 3 (there are more efficient JP methods). Tamer is actually a really OP class (as a main job) very good for Early game due to high damage from tamed monsters, and good for Mid game due to Specialty (All states increase based on # of pets). I'm currently finishing Chapter 4, and my characters have 9,999 HP | 999 MP and 600-700 on every stat (meaning I cap damage, and bosses are jokes at this point on normal difficulty). If you don't care about aesthetics just Max out Tamer. Farming for JP/EXP is very easy as well... have 3x lv12 Berserker sub + 1x lv 12 White Mage sub and farm hordes (100-400 SP per chain) > Zerker Level Strike will usually OTK or 2hit KO, and heal with bishop as needed, use items to induce hordes, also weapon doesn't matter, just be sure to use weapons that the mobs your farming are weak to (elemental weapons are a bonus i.e earth axe and fire sword).
I use Tamers "Spearhead" + Berserkers "Indiscriminate Rage" to Auto-Attack Farm. Some Enemies Counter that so it's good to have a different method. It's also nice to equip Tamers "Beast Whisperer" to collect some Monsters on the way. Tamer has OP stats.
Yeah, I second the MAX FREELANCER tip, and not just because of the JP up. Freelancer's late blooming ability means it increases stats with every job you master, so at TIMES (not always) if you are under leveled for a fight, you can switch your main to free lancer which may work better for you stat wise. Not to mention, even as a sub it contains body slam, which is a SUPER powerful move and only costs BP to use instead of mp or hp. Having 2 attackers stock up and then hit multiple Body Slams have helped a lot with some of the earlier boss fights.
Just started playing and freelance jp up and jp up and up really useful also the level 11 skill that uses 1 bp that deals almost 1k damage. also use monk passive that does not need weapons for both hands giving you a lot of savings that all you need to but is just armor, hat + 2 accessories at least 1 with +500 to 800 hp. lastly I recommend doing side quests since some rewards(equipment) are something you can get later but can get access early since you've done the quest and while doing so make sure to kill all the enemies for jp(job points) since getting better skills and equipment is better than just level.
