The Essex Boys Murders | Mad Mick Bowman

- On December 6, 1995, Craig Rolfe, Tony Tucker and Pat Tate were murdered inside a Range Rover on a quiet country lane in Rettendon Essex.
All three of them were "blasted" by a shotgun from close range, lying blood-covered and slumped in the vehicle until they were discovered by two local farmers the next morning.
The victims were known to be part of the 'Essex Boys' drug gang, and numerous theories formed surrounding how they came to be shot eight times in a peaceful Essex village.
I caught onto your videos just a few months ago and I'm totally hooked ! I live in deepest darkest Scotland so I'm not familiar with the Essex area though have visited the south many times. I saw one or two documentaries around the time of the shootings on TV and was amazed at all aspects of the case. But now, every time I convince myself I have the answer to it all, up comes another video to scupper my theories !!! lol. Keep up the good work CS2C, and I'll see you on the next video.
I remember when it happened and have lots of different ideas but never end with ms and jw, I can't help thinking the police are involved.
Whereabout in the deepest darkest Scotland?

Bowman had a mate who had a car from the social because he had a disabled son. Bowman disappeared with the car for a week. He eventually gave it back but he had racked a load of tickets. This caused his mate to loose the car.
Nice fella
@@doves9204I'm just giving some extra info on what kind of guy his was.
The disabled child was in an electric wheelchair and they absolutely depended on that van/people carrier to get him around. Without it, the poor kid was housebound. It totally affected his quality of life.

@@Jazzjasey are you saying Leah Betts dad shot them? That's a pretty strong accusation Jason. Basically blaming the police for doing them
I got the same eerie flashback feeling when I heard you repeat the comment from Bowman's statement "might have been squeezed in the back"
The problem with that statement is the word 'might.'
That would not stand in court as the prosecution would say, 'Either there was someone squashed in the back or wasn't'
To answer that - you would have to access your visual memory.
'Yeah - he was squashed in the back.'
To catch you out - the next question would be, 'Can you describe the clothing.'
Now you are trapped.
You can't say, 'I don't know.' because they know you are looking at the person in your mind and you should be able to describe the clothing.
Someone here is not telling the truth.
Yeh squeezed in the back with his old mate Pat for one last night ride
WHOOOOOPEE Mad Mick Bowman. My favorite character
He certainly is an interesting character, he is named mad for some reason and is well connected in the fire arms. I seem to remember a segment on CSTCR where narrator mentions that Tony had applied for a firearm license and was seeking a shotgun. Could it be that they were at meet to purchase shotgun? And was this the gun that ironed them out?
I think the idea may have been for all three too be armed when they were to commit their own imminent ambush. Could MB associate PH have shot them as revenge for the firm grassing them up over firearms? It is not beyond the realms of possibility? Too many of the Foot soldier type films and books rely on the same material. These are just thoughts proving there could be an alternative without the involvement of the statement of Darren Nicholls.....
Another double bluff thought is it's also less likely or odd to be accused of murdering them after supplying them with another firearm, which was known to have been not on them at the time of their deaths. Them obtaining the M/C gun was the moment the target on their backs widened, and they had too be taken out quicker because the other firms heard about the robbery they were about to commit. Shoot 1st or get shot at!
There's more to it than meets the eye. I believe it is someone who we would not think it is
@@traceydanielle8463 very insightful, thanks tracey
Do rate the detail and your commitment.. Keep it up please 👍🏽
Mick bowman was definitely the other person in the car.
Corrado's were fairly popular back in 95 but were expensive and rare to see knocking about...especially the 2.9 VR6's. The G60's with the compressor were slightly cheaper and back then reminded me of a Sirocco. They got big in "The Noughties" to mid 2000's....
I want a corrado I’ve always had a soft spot for them and the G60’s always looked smart with the big bumpers
@@alistairlesliegraham6925 they were quality...and one of the best chassis on a VW ever made. My mate had an M-Reg one and his dad a K-Reg one, both in dark blue...They could handle, and were nippy and loud...My only issue was that big separator on the back seat....
No difference in bumpers 🤦♂️

Was donna boinking that copper by the time these statements were made. Would make a lot of sense. Wasn’t that cop dodgy ? Think he’s dead now as well. I’m also wondering how bowman came into the circle of ttr considering it is noted that the amphetimene that bowman’s friend was caught with along with bowman was as a result of tucker setting them up. I think nipper had mentioned this is one of his books, that tate had told bowman that it was tucker that had got them nicked. Regarding the murder itself I think it was sanctioned by a big crime syndicate or top table players, I think Billy and Eddie blundell give good insight in interviews that state there was something out on tucker and it was most likely known to major players the hit was out, there was no secret of it. This removes the theory that it was tates syndicate that done it when he failed to return the money after the dud cannabis deal.
Ive always wondered why jagger would want to take the machine gun out of hiding.since noone knew it was there.why would she take it to the other woman and then grass her up so it could be collected by a police officer that later shacked up with jagger.
Jagger named Bowman in her original statement but on a later statement changed it to Steele. Why ?.
MB was 'pwoppa nawty'. Cant help but think he was involved in some way.
The msgs on TT & PT's mobiles were they left b4 or after the killings?
Was MB connected to the Canning town crew?
I think he went on trail with a canning town face for the murder of Nick Whiting linked to the brinks mat gold. The case fell apart because the body was dumped over Rainham gas works. This stopped forensics from finding an exact time of death.
Why when the police asked him if he’d phoned them that day and he didn’t want to go any further in the interview. Did the police not press him on this and say they know he did because they’d heard the voice mails he’d left. Also did the police check where the phone calls were made in relation to phone masts.
Good upload yet again.
Thank you 👍
Simple answer, to the point you made about Sarah knowing the names of cars. Pat was a car trader.
She will have seen loads of cars on the pitch. Loads of different ones he acquired, or came home in etc.
I love boxing but my partner doesn’t know All of the boxes she’s not really interested she would’ve a few of the ones that everybody knows she does seem to be a bit clued up

Top stuff CSTC. Was the Range Rover another status symbol like the Porsche and the three who thought they were in the money had to improve their image on their way to the big time.
The Range Rover was loaned to Tate by Eastern Garage at One Tree Hill near Fobbing, because his girl friend had crashed the Porsche and it was in the garage for repair.
@@jamesreynolds2867 No what happened was Peter Cuthbert bought it on HP and then Tucker/Tate and Rolfe were paying him for it monthly.

Mick always reminds me a bit of the Stone Roses singer Ian Brown 👍🤗
What did he do to get the name "mad mickey"

He rolled with my ex partner phil who also to walked Nigel benn in to the boxing matches yrs ago and hung with us he loved to get on the coke and just a bit nutty and funny funny guy loved micky

At 9:45 looks like pat tate's face pic in the snow.
Yeah I see that........
@@leehuttley6154 i meant at 9:45
I thought that as well i dont think that was a natural occurrence
Most sensible thing he said was No comment! But at the end of the interview, instead of the beginning!
These people saying about grilles over the rear lights do we not all think they were just speculating as they assume most range rovers they were newer had grilles over the rear lenses and the are just assuming that the F-reg rangerover had the same feature. The mind boggles its like the ford Sierra cosworth that is a c-reg which wouldn't be either a rs500 cosworth or a sapphire cosworth as neither models were produced until 1986 D-reg or 1988 E-reg and it's said by one other person it's a ford granada l which the last of the mk2 models was finished on a c-reg but the mk3 granada saloon modelsndidnt come around until the end of the 80's......just Too much speculation went on at the time
Mickey tripped himself up a few times during this interview....
He knew Pat from prison. He went for a drink with Pat when he got released from prison. He knew Pat more than he knew the others.
He knew Tony from the boxing with Nigel Benn. He used to see Tony in Tenerife when they were both out there training.
See he knew them through his co-defendent Fisher. Fisher actually introduced him to Tony a while back, about 8 months ago,. to Pat and Tony, but more Tony because he knew Pat from prison!
The police just let him carry on without even saying .. "I thought you said you knew Tony from your training days".
Mickey was telling lies for some reason because the truth doesnt change!! I now wonder who Fisher is?? And Tommy with the beige Fiat.. he gave Mickey a lift home from the Bungalow. He was one of Pat and Tonys runarounds. And the police didnt even ask, Tommy who, what does Tommy look like?
Wtf is Tom/Tommy?
EVERY ONE HAS some THING TO hide
20:10 these voicemails bowman leaves for Tony those 2 it sounds like he is walking/running. Wonder did they ever get the phone mast location on them? Then he rings pt and the background it sounds like he is in a pub or there are people in the background
always thought sounded like at a train station and him crossing snow
@@mattfrancis4569 definitely sounds like he is on snow. The later call to pat where he leaves a voicemail it sound like Mickey is then in the pub. Maybe the pub up the road ? Doubt it tho, guess we will never know but so intriguing

Could the Corrado have been mistaken for a Sierra Cosworth?
Wouldn't have thought so, totally different shape at the back. I Want to know if the White Cosworth had a double rear spoiler, or not?.
@@cherylspandley8270 I meant if someone who wasn't very up on individual types of cars, might have made a mistake.
@@Ghost_Vulgarian Yeah I know what you mean, a long time ago I may of mistake a Vauxhaul Cavalier, for an Opal Manta. I had seen what I thought was a Vauxhaul Cavalier from across a country lane, from an upstairs window of a cottage late at night, it was parked on a dangerous bend near a Crossroads, it had been left abandoned with both the driver; and passenger door wide open. It was an A REG PLATE BLACK LETTERS AND NUMBERS ON A YELLOW PLATE. Why I thought it was a Cavalier, god only knows.
Is Mick Bowman the same one that collected the Smelter on the Brinks Mat job?
OLD SCHOOL YOU MUST BE OBSESSED WITH THESE THUGS LOL
the range Rover and the MG were for specific purpose of robbing the drop
Robbing it maybe. Maybe there was another person in range rover with the shotgun and tate and that thought they was gonna be in the money but there friend with the shotgun switch on them set up

Why is there snow under the Range Rover !!!
It was placed there cold.
On the other side of the gates are deep tracks from a big truck dropping of the RR early hours.Hence the snow under the car.
Yeah I reckon they were murdered on the other side of the gate to left 22.5 foot away from Workhouse Lane. I feel they either met, or were kept in a white building, like an old 1950's building, Two Stories High with a Flat Roof, then going upto Three Stories High, as you go round the roundabout, the building carries on into the next road, as you drive round to the Left, the building then goes back to Two Stories with a Flat Roof. Back in the early 1960's there were steps down from the 3'rd floor; and the flat roof would have Deck Chairs on it. The building if I remember rightly was broken up into Workshops, there was a car repair business in one of them. There was a Woods on the way to this building with a Maple Tree. Don't think it was Pat Tate Car Lot. Not the Five Bells Roundabout, but very much similar building, similar type windows, but bigger windows.
I love these!! But does anyone know of any vids that can give me a broad over view? I need more background before I watch these highly detailed ones :-)
Great vid as per usual and narrative cs2c I think Sarah maybe knew her motors as pat was in the trade 👍😊
Corrado’s have a distinctive shape too..
I used to play lots of clubs in the mid 90's and have been on the line up with Nigel Benn a couple of times. He's a nice guy. I expect he found all this quite embarrsing. Shout out to the Dark Destroyer.
Brilliant upload 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Didn't PT friend who got shot and killed shortly after have a green range Rover with rear lamp guards
The VW corrado was nearly top of the range car in its day but I hear you cs2c how she know the makes and models she must be right into cars as it's very similar in shape to the VW Scirocco
The guy has tic toc 😂

Bowman also spoke in the singular " He deserves to be locked up, The fella's dangerous" how did he know it was one gunman?
He didn't know. He was just merely specualating like everyone on here and then believing their analysis to be the truth.
Or - someone else had speculated and told him that it was the truth.
Or he is just like the kid who said they had magic mushrooms and saw a Mars bar chasing them down the street - not knowing mushrooms don't work that way.
People in that circle talk but I do think bowman knows who killed them that night.

Three years for a shotgun? Even my mate never been knicked in life at 40 got a 5 for a pistol. That then dont smell right sorry.
Should have just planted c4 where they stopped and pushed the button 😅
A pal of mine got a 5 just for haveing 5 bullets in his car boot werent even caught with the shooter they were for a year for each bullet worked out at
You should watch who you are blaming
Your spot on with the Range Rover
Criminals don’t hang onto stuff used to help them be criminal
So if someone asked for the Range Rover after they was done with it
It implies they had the Range Rover for a particular reason or a particular job and then would move on it for abit of quick cash on or burn it out 👌🙏
