FYI its not actually the gasoline itself that catches on fire, its the fumes that ignite...then the heat transfers to the liquid. my uncle was a firefighter and drilled us for being "fire bugs" as children. not that i ever did any firework or pyrotechnic shenanigans.

A lot of casinos (at least the ones near me) have a non-smoking room. I think it should be the reverse. The main casino areas should be non-smoking and then have one room with machines for smokers. Its not like they have to stay in that room. They just have to go in there to smoke.

In Ontario Canada, all casinos are smoke free. It hasn't really affected overall attendance. In the beginning attendance went down but after a few weeks attendance actually increased.

I believe the issue is the fumes are flammable so if the puddle or can of gas has sat the liquid does not ignite but with a fresh pour, the fumes ignite.
At room temperature, diesel does not produce enough flammable fumes to burn. Gasoline very much does. A match, cigarette, just about any spark can ignite the vapors from gasoline. Once the initial vapour wave dissipates, it just burns on the liquid.
I freaked out the office guy by putting out a cigarette in a cup of gasoline in my hand. He thought I was going to blow up the side of the building and burst into flames but as per usual, the cigarette went out and everyone was okay. 👍

If you threw a match on the ground next to a tub of gas that was allowing the gasoline fumes to come out, it would definitely explode. If you could light a match in the gas it would not explode. The problem is, the fumes are right on top of the gas, so the odds of you lighting a match or even a lit cigarette. Hollywood Casino in Columbus, OH is all NON-SMOKING INSIDE. They have designated smoking areas that are through two sets of air tight double doors, it’s heated and there’s even a bar in one of the sections. Hollywood might be the BEST smelling casino I’ve ever been in?!!!
A cigarette thrown on gasoline ( petrol) will do nothing. The flame is not warm enough. I have tried this myself. You could smoke at a gas station, as long as you didn't use the lighter. And even if you poured a litre of petrol on the ground and then put a cigarette on it. Nothing. Flame is 🚫 good. A match is hit and miss and can ignite if held but if thrown 90% it will do nothing as it's not warm enough. That's why we usually see them destroy Zippo lighters in movies. And that cracks me up even more as I think Zippo lighters are the best ever. The smoke never bothered me when we didn't smoke and most girls I dated smoked. I started smoking when I was 37. I stopped at 42 and started again when I was about 53 and stopped 2 years ago when I was 55. I can stop without craving them. Which annoys my wife lol. I do love a nice cigar. Roughly about 6 inch and a 50 gauge. But those can be expensive in the UK. But the smoke from cigarettes, cigars, and pipe never bothered me ever. In fact I love the lighting up process and prefer a match to do that with. And with the UK and Ireland having a smoking ban, I no longer have that luxury of smelling people light a cigarette

They will never ban smoking in casinos. The casino doesn't want people getting up and stop betting to leave the casino. Once uv gotten up uv made a conscious decision to leave the casino and it's a higher probability of that player leaving to go somewhere else or to go home. I think Mythbusters debunked the whole cars blowing up with a trail of gasoline. You'll get a fire, but not the explosions like you see in Hollywood movies. They had to add explosives to get it to work if I remember correctly.

Most Casinos in Alberta are non smoking, the only ones that allow smoking are indigenous Casinos and they have smoking areas and non smoking areas. Best of both worlds.
They will never ban smoking in casinos. The casino doesn't want people getting up and stop betting to leave the casino. Once uv gotten up uv made a conscious decision to leave the casino and it's a higher probability of that player leaving to go somewhere else or to go home. A casino wants u in a chair for as long as possible without u having to get up for anything but a bathroom break
I think Mythbusters debunked the whole cars blowing up with a trail of gasoline. You'll get a fire, but not the explosions like you see in Hollywood movies. They had to add explosives to get it to work if I remember correctly.
