Leafs fan here. Don't care the ACC is 20th. How the Joe is 30th and the Barclays center is 10th makes no sense. You cant even see whole ice surface from some seats in the Barclays center The Joe is a great building. It has the old time hockey feeling. I made my way down to Detroit this year to see it before they close it up, and I'm glad I did. That being said it was interesting how you listed NHL arenas and used a picture of the ACC in its NBA set up.
And the Gila River arena is brand new and beautiful. The Saddledome is nice too, and the parking layout is amazing, I've rarely ever had to wait in traffic, and the arena is always full!

The old auditorium in Buffalo was an amazing view of the game , you could feel the wind as the players skated bye the glass rocked when a check was thrown and even the orange section gave a steep great view. These new arenas take away from the game.
PPG Paints Arena (as it's known now) should be higher. It blends in very well with the surrounding buildings. As with all the sports venues in Pittsburgh, you don't have to drive to them. You get off either the bus or subway and just walk there.
it would be interesting to know what the criterias are for this list because some of the top 10, mostly discussed here have poor attendance, ice quality and overall fan experience. have you even been to a hockey game in one of those 30 amphitheaters?
