Not only did you do a segment on the Hayward fault in Fremont where I grew up that opened my eyes to the local geology I grew up with, but now you're in The City where I lived in The Haight in the 90's. I had no idea SF had swaths of serpentinite in its terrain. My exposure to this rock comes by way of Baja-BC, but SF is on the continental side, so I guess not all serpentinite originates in Mexico??? I guess the magnetic signature tells it all.
I have been slowly grasping the geology of the bay area, but it's extremely complicated. Sometimes I think of it as the massive wreckage of a subduction zone that then got sliced and diced by transform faults lol ...
